00:00Basketball has always been one of the few things that I could get inside those four
00:07lines and nothing else mattered in the world. The first time that I got crossed
00:12over and scored on by a guy that I perceived to have less ability than me
00:17or have it harder in life, my whole world changed. I just remember telling
00:23myself don't close your eyes because if I close my eyes I'm gonna die. I never
00:27thought before that I was gonna be in a wheelchair all my life. I love to see
00:35my son play basketball because the thing he do in that wheelchair is amazing. The
00:41team has become my brother's.
00:45We're gonna play like men and we're gonna go home.
00:55Masters where we're going all the way home.
00:59Any given moment I'm gonna be without a move you know so it's like I gotta just not let that affect my training.
01:11I see those guys that they've been playing for years and they've been to college. If
01:19they did it why can't I do it? Jeremy is a minstrel of music. I got the heart
01:25shaking with basketball. That beats music makes me.
01:30There will be positive things I do. I do it for basketball. This is my escape. This is what's most likely to get me an education. I gotta push 20 miles a day, wake up at 7 in the morning to be there by five out of the afternoon I'm gonna do it.
01:40I don't think y'all would have this opportunity if it wasn't for a sport.
01:44I got this partnership.
01:46What we do is beyond basketball. It's beyond wheelchair sports. It's life and how we choose to live it.
01:58you
