00:00I'm Unit 100. I just had a surfer run up to the truck.

00:03He's saying there's a dog that's on the jetty.

00:06The dog was in the Mission Bay channel and got swept out with the current of the channel.

00:11It was a unique thing that I personally have never experienced.

00:14This cute little black lab, it's going to be okay.

00:18We were here at Mission Beach, stationed here, and then we launched this ski here to help with the search party.

00:23We looked for an hour. He let me know, you know, we're going to look for 10 more minutes.

00:27You know, at that point, I kind of just said, like, please let us find this dog.

00:31We kind of huddled up and said that, you know, there's a good chance that Sadie was still alive.

00:35Just a five-year-old lab and they're fighters.

00:38They're water dogs.

00:39The 10 minutes passed, they got called off.

00:40We were still really far out to sea, probably three quarters of a mile out to sea.

00:45I told Gary, I'm like, hey, I see something over there.

00:47We got closer and closer, and then we realized it was her, and we were pretty excited.

00:53Yeah, she was super happy to see us, for sure. She was tired.

00:56Sadie, all right, give her some love.

01:04She's the reason we're forever grateful to the lifeguards of the San Diego Fire and Rescue.

01:10Right when they were going to call it off, because it had been an hour, we literally were standing right there with the guy,

01:15and he got a call in the walkie-talkie saying that they had found the dog, and we kind of just held our breath,

01:19and they were like, and the dog is alive, and we kind of just started crying right away.

01:22This batch, the dog's been reunited with the owner at the reception dock, and all units are clear.

01:27We are forever grateful and thankful for all of you guys' help.

01:32We just really wanted a happy ending, and we're glad that Sadie got to go back home and, you know,

01:36survive this pretty traumatic event.
