00:01California-based Dr. Salvador Plasencia is sentenced to two-and-a-half years in prison for illegally supplying Friends star Matthew Perry with ketamine.
00:10Ketamine is the powerful sedative that caused the actor's drug overdose death in 2023.
00:16Plasencia pleaded guilty before a federal court in July to four felony counts of illegal distribution of the prescription anesthetic.
00:22In his plea agreement, Plasencia admitted that he had injected Perry with ketamine on multiple occasions at the actor's home.
00:31Perry had publicly acknowledged decades of substance abuse, even during his years playing Chandler Bing in the hit sitcom Friends.
00:38Federal law enforcement officials said Perry had been receiving ketamine infusions for depression and anxiety treatment at a clinic where he became addicted to the drug.
