00:00May I invite Prime Minister Lawrence Wong to deliver his remarks, please.
00:06Prime Minister Anwar, Excellencies and Distinguished Guests,
00:09I'm very pleased to welcome Prime Minister Anwar and his delegation back to Singapore.
00:15I always value the engagements with him and our personal friendship,
00:21because we are able to have candid and constructive discussions,
00:25and we both focus on what we can achieve together as close neighbours, good friends, and for the benefit of both our peoples.
00:35We've just exchanged MOUs on health cooperation and the fight against drugs,
00:40which will enable us to learn from one another in these areas of interest and strengthen the resilience of our societies.
00:47We have stepped up exchanges between our officials, including education and cultural exchanges.
00:53Importantly, this year we made very good progress on the Johor Singapore Special Economic Zone.
00:59Singapore-based companies have committed over $5.5 billion in investments in the Johor Singapore Special Economic Zone since January 2024.
01:10So we welcome the ratification of the SEZ agreement, and there is tremendous potential for this to grow further.
01:17We have only just begun. The potential is much greater going forward, especially with improved transport connectivity.
01:27And this will happen with the completion of the RTS link.
01:31We have signed a supplementary agreement to the RTS link bilateral agreement.
01:35This will facilitate preparations for co-located CIQ facilities and the eventual operationalisation of the RTS.
01:43Thank you, Perdana Menteri.
02:13It's really a matter of economic arrangement, but it could only happen in terms of the Johor Singapore Special Economic Zone because of the trust and the friendship.
02:24And I don't think this should be ignored or underestimated.
02:28This is, I repeat, unprecedented.
02:32And we have seen the initial results, which is startling, which of course benefit Singapore, but more so in Malaysia.
02:42And I've said, due to this economic zone, for the first time in the history, Singapore has registered a phenomenal growth in terms of investments.
02:51The phenomenal increase in Johor, that surpassed Penang.
02:56We are open to encourage more investments from Singapore and Malaysia as a trading nation, as you know.
03:05And with all these uncertainties, it is critical that we enhance this sort of trade between countries and within ASEAN.
03:16And that is why this showcase of this economic zone can be a good example how countries can work together for the benefit of both the economic and the people.
03:35And the future, I'll be able to work together with two thousand and the people in could be a good example of the life as a strategy.
03:38And that is why this is so important that we have a good example of existing technologies.
03:40And I think this is a wholeěš” and a good example of being a good example of its own.
03:43So that you can do this, that we can do this, that we can do this in the past 206 months.
03:44And that we can do this, and we can do this in our past 206 months.
03:46And so that we have a good example as we have a good example of all good things.
03:47And so that we can do that, so that we have a good example of this.
