00:01Is that what you call me when I'm not around?
00:03Zoe is an amazing person.
00:11I love this movie. It's crazy.
00:12It's crazy.
00:13Yeah, when did you watch it?
00:14I watched it Thursday in the middle of the day.
00:16Look at us. Cheers.
00:17Look at us.
00:18Wow, we got the same color.
00:19Oh my God, we're basically matching.
00:20Look at us, girl.
00:21But I watched it in the middle of the day on Thursday,
00:23and I had never felt so much anxiety in recent memory watching a movie.
00:26But like in a good way, you know, when you're just like on the edge of your seat the whole time?
00:28Yeah, great.
00:29Which I just want to compliment you because I think Blink twice just does this great job also building and sustaining.
00:34Thank you so much.
00:36But I want to talk about before we get into just like sheer chaos in this movie,
00:40we do get a couple of fun moments between your characters.
00:43I want to talk about the strip down.
00:44Were you guys actually racing?
00:46Who won?
00:47I feel like it was genuinely competitive.
00:49It was very competitive.
00:51I also was holding a beer and I had a hat.
00:53Oh my God.
00:54I had a cigarette and I had a lit cigarette.
00:57A lit cigarette.
00:58You're splitting hairs here.
00:59Oh, shirt.
01:00Shirt over the head lit cigarette.
01:01Yeah, that was pretty impressive.
01:02Did you keep it in your mouth?
01:03How'd you do that?
01:04Yes.
01:05You kept it in your mouth?
01:06Yes, doggy.
01:07Yes.
01:08Wow, that's impressive.
01:09And still managed to win.
01:10Very impressive.
01:11To win.
01:12She didn't win all the time.
01:13I sort of let her win on the-
01:15It was, well it was, no it wasn't scripted who won.
01:17Was it not scripted that way?
01:18I don't think it said who won.
01:19I don't know.
01:20It was a genuine, yeah.
01:21Yeah, but it was a competition as you can see.
01:22I gathered back.
01:23Because we're still debating about it.
01:25I want to know if I can take this seriously.
01:28What do you need to take us seriously?
01:30At one point I wrote down, why is she with him?
01:34Right.
01:35Did you also-
01:36Story of my life, yeah.
01:37Those thoughts.
01:38Yeah.
01:39I mean, I feel like she definitely maybe likes to fix and take care of people.
01:45She's an EMT, so I feel like there's a certain amount of care that, you know, she likes to give.
01:51He cute.
01:52He funny.
01:53You know?
01:54And I feel like she's like such a New Yorker.
01:58She's like so tough that I think there might be something refreshing about him to her.
02:04Yeah.
02:05Yeah.
02:06Did they have some fun?
02:07Yeah.
02:08But like totally understand why you would ask that.
02:10Yeah.
02:11I was like, I'm not crazy, right?
02:12Let's go back to your place and you can take advantage of my poor judgment.
02:15I depend on your poor judgment.
02:16I want to switch to this a little bit and just talk about Hank spends a lot of time being injured, but he has to, he's like forced to be so agile.
02:24Yeah.
02:25How did you approach like the physicality of that, of like, I've got to run so fast, but also this guy is like, has an open wound and how am I going to treat it?
02:31Yeah, that was a conundrum for me.
02:32Yeah.
02:33Cause I, I talked to Darren a lot about it and there were, there were times where I said, Darren, I really feel like I should be.
02:39And he goes, no, the adrenaline's pumping so much that you would just go and then you feel it afterward.
02:43And so there were moments. And so we played with a lot of different things. We did different takes and, and then I just kind of trusted Darren to, to cut together what he felt was, felt right for the tone of the film.
02:54But yeah, I mean, when I'm cut open and then suddenly I have to be sprinting down the street. I had that thought.
03:00Um, I was just talking to him actually, and I'll hold this for spoilers. So feel free to talk freely, but he mentioned that you had a connection to Laura Dern, which is kind of how she ended up playing your mom.
03:12Can you talk at all about that?
03:13Hey, Laura and I just, we, we met a few years ago, I think now, maybe it was a few years ago, four years ago or something.
03:20And, um, and quickly developed this, I mean, you know, Laura, she's just, she's the loveliest human being in the world. She's so maternal and comforting and smart.
03:32And, uh, and so we would have conversations about life and, and the creative process. And, uh, and she's just been this angel figure in my life.
03:41And on top of that, she, my mother used to always be told she looks like Laura Dern.
03:48Really? Yeah. So when anybody would talk, they would talk to my mom. They'd say, you, you know, you look just like Laura Dern.
03:55That's crazy. Isn't that wild? Yeah.
03:57So all these years later, I got to actually tell that to Laura. And now she's like this, like pseudo mom to me.
04:03Oh, that's so cute. That's really cool. Thank you for sharing that.
04:06I need you to take care of my cat.
04:08I like cats.
04:09I like dogs.
04:10Really quickly. Is it as hard to watch an injured cat actor as it is to be in the theater?
04:16I know, right? Yeah. Yeah. Oh, it's so sad. It's so sad. Yeah.
04:20Actually, I mean, more impressive though. The fact that the cat could pretend to be injured.
04:24I was like, this is amazing.
04:25Yeah. The cat is an amazing little actor.
04:27Yeah. Um, amazing little actor.
04:29You're an amazing little actor.
04:30Is that what you call me when I'm around?
04:33Zoe is an amazing actor.
04:35She's a good little actor.
04:37Can you guys give me what it's like to work with Darren Aronofsky in one word?
