00:13The Harmut Strait, Bab el-Mendeb, the Suez Canal, and Gibraltar.
00:19A pathway linking Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and the United States.
00:25And we all know that the importance of our shared space is only destined to increase.
00:33And that we need a more structured dialogue leading to enhanced cooperation if we want all of us to take full advantage of the opportunities offered by our geopolitical centrality.
00:46For this reason, if you like the idea, I would like to work with you on a GCC Med Summit that obviously I am ready to host in Italy,
01:01a nation historically and geographically at the core of these spaces,
01:06to create this new and ambitious format of dialogue between Gulf and Mediterranean nations.
01:14A format that does not mean to compete with other international initiatives or fora,
01:21and does not work as an alternative to them,
01:23but one that knows how to work on complementarities, synergies, and mutual strengths.
01:31Our goal must be building a common operational platform focusing on the challenges in which we can make a difference together.
01:41And the first of these challenges lies in developing economic interconnections,
01:48increasingly decisive in the globalized and highly innovative economic landscape we are experiencing.
01:55I'm thinking of the India-Middle East Corridor,
02:00the infrastructure and economic project to connect major port cities in India, the Middle East, and Europe,
02:07enabling interconnection with the United States.
02:11This initiative would allow our economies and businesses to unleash enormous potential.
02:18And in it, Italy intends to play a leading role,
02:22for example, counting on a crucial hub such as Trieste,
02:26the northernmost port in the Mediterranean,
02:30and the historic maritime gate to the Balkans and the rest of Central and Eastern Europe.
02:36Equally strategic is the digital connection domain.
