Chad Michael Murray is baring it all in more ways than one ahead of his new Netflix film 'The Merry Gentlemen.' The 'One Tree Hill' alum stars in the Netflix holiday romcom alongside Britt Robertson, which follows a former big city dancer who travels home for the holidays and saves her parents' small town performing venue from shutting down by staging an all-male Christmas-themed revue. The stars sat down with The Hollywood Reporter to talk all about their new film and Chad even dishes on 'Freakier Friday' and possibly joining the 'One Tree Hill' reboot.

00:05yeah, okay, that's never going to happen. Chad Michael Murray is bearing it all in more ways

00:24down by staging an all-male Christmas-themed review. As one can imagine, the film is filled

00:30with romance, holiday magic, and lots of shirtless Chad Michael Murray serving major Magic Mike energy.

00:36There's been a lot of comparisons to Magic Mike.

00:40I was scared, senseless, and no experience. I'm more of a wedding dancer and around the house

00:47kind of guy. So I just, I dope in. That was a big part of it for me. It's just getting there every

00:51day and doing three, four sessions a week, six hours a day. Just getting it and learning,

00:57learning the different styles. It must have been exhausting.

01:00I loved every minute of it. Really? I did. I truly did. This was some of the most fun I've ever had

01:03making a movie. Was there anything that you're like, I absolutely can't do this, so someone needs

01:07to help me. Weirdly, they thought that I wasn't going to be able to tap dance. Yes, they had this

01:12woman who was going to be Peyton. She was going to double me and the whole thing. Really? Yes. And I was like,

01:17guys, I can do it. Just give me time. And I learned it. So I felt, you know, I really stuck

01:24it to them. I went to a movement coach and we started working on the different styles. You know,

01:29I mean, you've got country, western, jazz, hip hop, stomp, and they all have different movements,

01:33you know, and it lives differently in your body. Did I peek at Magic Mike 100%? Totally. And I saw

01:39what Channing is capable of doing. I said, yeah, okay, that's never going to happen.

01:43Are there any moves that you kind of just bust out at home now? Because you're like,

01:46I got this. I live in a pretty goofy household. So there's probably not a lot of time that goes

01:52by where we're not doing something absolutely ridiculous with our body. A body roll. Yeah,

01:58we do a lot of body roll. A lot of body roll. But yeah, I mean, I would sit there and, you know,

02:02go over the steps with the missus and, you know, just leave it at that. The new film isn't the only

02:07place fans can catch a glimpse of shirtless Chad. The star also posed for a new sexy Christmas

02:13calendar tied to the film's release. But he says it's all for a good cause with proceeds going to

02:18St. Jude's. Can we talk about the holiday calendar that we have outside? What are we doing that we're

02:24not talking about? We're going to raise a lot of money for charity. That's what we're going to do.

02:27A hundred percent. How much convincing did it take you to be a part of that? Because that's been a big

02:31hit outside, I got to say. This is what I'm saying. I'm like, no one could convince me to do anything

02:36like this. And he was like, oh yeah, it's for charity. Like, this is so great. What a great idea.

02:41Every year I try to do something, whether it's a Jersey campaign or, you know, autograph this or

02:47whatever. And this year, this goofy fun calendar is my way of saying Murray Christmas.

02:51Oh!

02:53Oh, I went there.

02:55A very Murray Christmas indeed. Elsewhere the star is having a renaissance of sorts.

03:00And next up, Freaky Friday 2, which reunites Murray with stars Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis.

03:05What was it like kind of stepping back on that set and reuniting with Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis?

03:11It was so cool to get to meet, you know, Lindsay's baby and her husband. And to just reconnect after

03:17all those years and see how much everyone's grown and changed and adapted. And like, Lindsay's work

03:24is incredible in the film. Literally, I sat down with the kids because I wanted them to know what I

03:28was working on. So we sat down and watched the first one together right before I went to work.

03:31And I'm sitting there going, oh my God.

03:32She's so, so talented.

03:34Mind-blowing. Like, not, not easy to do.

03:37And speaking of big reunions, the star also touched on if he'll reunite with his former

03:41One Tree Hill co-stars for the upcoming OTH reboot.

03:45I have to ask because I am such a massive One Tree Hill fan. I mean, who isn't?

03:49Yeah.

03:49There's the reboot happening. Have you had discussions about it at all? Or is that something that you'd

03:54like to do?

03:55Um, no, I haven't had any discussions. Does the answer, no, at the moment?

04:00I've made some calls, though.

04:02She's on it. She's on it. She's calling her people.

04:04Whatever iteration of this show that comes, I just want it for the fan base.
