Severe flooding across Indonesia has left a trail of destruction from West Sumatra to Aceh, with homes swept away, villages buried under mud, and survivors struggling to access food, shelter, and emergency assistance. Heavy rains throughout late November triggered landslides, overflowing rivers, and flash floods that inundated residential areas across at least four provinces. In Lubuk Minturun, Padang, powerful floodwaters swept through housing areas, trapping vehicles and cutting off entire blocks. CCTV-style footage shows a stranded SUV swallowed by the current as residents attempt to navigate fast-moving waters. Houses were nearly submerged, and rescue workers were seen evacuating a young child from a second floor as water levels continued to rise.#IndonesiaFloods #FloodsIndonesia #IndonesiaFlashFloods #IndonesiaFloods2025 #IndonesiaFloodsToday #SevereFloodsIndonesia #IndonesiaRains #IndonesiaDisaster #IndonesiaFloodUpdate #IndonesiaFloodsLatest #FlashFloodsIndonesia #IndonesiaStorms #IndonesiaWeatherCrisis #IndonesiaFloodEmergency
00:00Severe flooding across Indonesia has left a trail of destruction from West Sumatra to Aceh,
00:21with homes swept away, villages buried under mud, and survivors struggling to access food,
00:28shelter, and emergency assistance. Heavy rains throughout late November triggered landslides,
00:33overflowing rivers, and flash floods that inundated residential areas across at least four provinces.
00:41In Lubuk-Minturin, Padang, powerful flood water swept through housing areas,
00:47trapping vehicles and cutting off entire blocks. CCTV-style footage shows a stranded SUV swallowed
00:54by the current as residents attempt to navigate fast-moving waters. Houses were nearly submerged,
01:01and rescue workers were seen evacuating a young child from a second floor as water levels continued
01:07to rise. In north Sumatra's Batang Toru, rescue teams transported rubber boats toward the flood zone as
01:14evacuations intensified. Further north in Pirijaya, Aceh, a family of 13 had been trapped in their home
01:22for three days before local rescuers reached them. Additional residents were evacuated from submerged
01:29houses, while aerial images showed vast areas of Bitarawang Village and surrounding land covered
01:35in water. The situation worsened on November 28th when flooding in Pirijaya toppled flagpoles,
01:42collapsed bridges, and left motorcycles encased in thick, hardened mud. Residents stood on rooftops to
01:49assess the damage, while emergency teams discovered casualties, including a victim recovered from
01:55Mesjit Tuha village, and even the carcass of a young male elephant swept in by the force of the flood
02:02waters. In Aceh province, search and rescue footage captured a man clinging to a tree in swift currents
02:09before being pulled to safety. Meanwhile, in central Tapanuli, aerial assessments by the National Disaster
02:15Management Agency revealed the large swaths of isolated land where roads and bridges had been
02:22blocked by flooding and landsides. Survivors described harrowing escapes. Pirijaya resident
02:28Busra Isaac said people were unable to leave their neighborhood, many fleeing to a newly built
02:35three-story building for safety.
02:56Another resident, Kutwa Rohana, returned to find her home destroyed. The cooking area is gone. Everything
03:04was swept away, she said. For days, villagers like Ridwan relied on neighbors as they fled rising waters,
03:11sleeping in the upper floors of nearby houses.
03:25In Lankat, villagers used makeshift wooden rafts to move through streets that had turned into rivers.
03:31Local resident Malik reported that homes had been underwater for five days and that aid had not yet
03:38reached parts of the community.
03:40By November 30th, the scale of the destruction grew clearer.
04:05Aerial footage from Tapanuli and Padang showed entire neighborhoods blanketed in mud, with some homes completely washed away.
04:16In Padang, survivor Pernandi described being swept away by the current as his home collapsed, leaving only an empty plot of land behind.
04:35Relief centers in several districts are now overwhelmed as survivors queue for food, water, and temporary shelter.
04:50Local agencies continue rescue operations, but access remains limited in many regions due to debris, collapsed structures, and unstable terrain.
04:59Authorities warn that more rain is expected in the coming days, raising concerns of additional flooding and landslides in already devastated communities.
