00:00President Trump doubled down on his use of the R-word, yes, that one, to describe Minnesota
00:07governor and former Kamala Harris running mate Tim Walls, declaring, quote, there's something
00:12wrong with him. What set the president off? Immigration, specifically his claim that Walls
00:18has allowed an influx of hundreds of thousands of Somali migrants, gangs as he called them,
00:23into Minnesota. The president's criticism comes as federal prosecutors have charged at least
00:2878 defendants, many of whom are from Somalia, with a COVID-related fraud case, stealing funds from
00:34a federally backed child nutrition program. And the president isn't alone in throwing Walls under
00:40the bus for the scandal, though other critics didn't opt for his word choice. Hundreds of
00:45workers at Minnesota's Department of Human Services have ripped Walls for the scandal, which fleeced
00:50taxpayers out of more than a billion bucks. One DHS employee posted on X, quote, Tim Walls is 100%
00:57responsible for a massive fraud in Minnesota. We let Tim Walls know of fraud early on, hoping for a
01:03partnership in stopping fraud, but no, we got the opposite response. Another went on to claim that
01:08Walls retaliated against whistleblowers in the case as well. Both the House Oversight Committee and the
01:13Treasury Department have promised investigations. The White House is not ruling out American boots on
01:19the ground in Venezuela. Press Secretary Caroline Levitt was asked about it Monday and simply said this.
01:25There's many options at the president's disposal that are on the table, and I'll let him speak on
01:30those. According to a new report from Reuters, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has a plan
01:36should U.S. troops invade his country and go up against its less than impressive military.
01:41He plans to mount a guerrilla-style resistance, and so chaos, in the hopes of making it impossible
01:46for the U.S. to remove him from power. Venezuela's military has about 123,000 active personnel
01:53with very little combat experience. Desertions are commonplace, and their equipment is deteriorating.
01:59All this to say, they wouldn't have a snowball's chance against the U.S.
02:04While there is a theoretical 8 million-member civilian militia, analysts say that they would
02:10expect the number who actually show up in order to fight to be only in the thousands.
02:14Dozens of deranged fans lined up for hours outside of a Manhattan courthouse awaiting their anti-hero
02:23Luigi Mangione on Monday. One fan who spent $150 on an Uber to get to the courthouse told the Post,
02:30quote, it's important for me to be here because he's innocent. Now, let me paint a picture here.
02:36There are extremely limited seats in court, so when I say they lined up for hours,
02:41I mean 4 or 5 a.m. in the freezing cold. Another fan, for lack of a better word, who waited in that
02:49cold and still missed getting in by two spots told us, quote, I'm just here to support Luigi and fight
02:56against stigma against mental health issues. Inside the courtroom, Mangione was dressed in a gray suit
03:01and expensive checked shirt with his trademark coiffed eyebrows, and those eyebrows were a big
03:07part of the day's proceedings. If you need a refresher, the hearing concerns whether or not
03:13certain evidence will be admissible in his state murder trial. The evidence in question is his
03:18backpack and its contents searched at the Altoona, Pennsylvania McDonald's, where he was captured,
03:23and whether or not police needed a warrant. In a 911 call played in court, the McDonald's manager
03:28says, quote, I have a customer here that some other customers were suspicious of, that he looks like
03:33the CEO shooter from New York. They then described what he was wearing and added, quote, the only
03:38thing you can see is his eyebrows. The hearing continues today, and I will be on top of any major
03:44updates. For more on these stories and everything else you could possibly want to know, check out the
