00:00Hi, this is Tom Chaplin and this is Behind the Hit with the song Somewhere Only We.

00:16I think Tim from Keane, he kind of presented the song to me and Richard.

00:20It would have been, I reckon, 2002.

00:25And we were at Tim's mum and dad's house.

00:27We didn't have a penny between us.

00:31So we'd all move back to our parents' houses.

00:34And we took over a room in Tim's mum and dad's house and used it as a rehearsal room.

00:39And I just remember him bringing the song to us and just thinking this is a great verse and a great chorus.

00:46And then there's this whole other bit that is actually the chorus that comes after that.

00:50And just thinking this is a different level from anything that we've done before.

00:57It's been with me ever since and for me it's been a bit of a soundtrack to everywhere that I've been.

01:14We have a huge following in South America and so performing it there is always pretty special.

01:23Paraguay, who'd have known 25 years ago that I'd be singing to thousands of people.
