00:00The Department of Energy, or DOE, is keeping its focus to achieve the goal of adding 200 new power plants in the country by 2028.
00:08This under the President's directive.
00:11Energy Secretary Sharon Garin affirmed that while some delays are present,
00:15the target remains feasible with a dedicated task force ensuring timely completion.
00:20Under Secretary Mario Marasigan reported that the DOE has prioritized around 50 projects slated for completion this year,
00:29and next, covering both renewable and conventional energy sources.
00:34The Department has already finished 15 power plants this year, with the majority expected to be completed in the following year.
00:42In line with the National Energy Consciousness Month,
00:44the DOE is also encouraging the public to conserve energy and shift to electric vehicles or EVs.
