00:01The death toll from the floods and landslides that struck Sumatra Island in Indonesia has risen to 631 people,
00:09while one million others have been displaced, according to figures released by the Disaster Management Agency.
00:16The agency also added that 472 people remain missing and more than 3.3 million people have been affected by the floods,
00:30with most of them moving to temporary shelters.
00:34Monsoon rains hit large parts of Sumatra last week, causing rivers to overflow, triggering landslides and submerging entire areas.
00:43Meanwhile, the floods and landslides that struck Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia and Sri Lanka over the past week
00:51have resulted in the deaths of 1,200 people.
