01:33do our first open water dive, a big open water dive in Fiji.
01:39But just as they were getting all excited to go, Felicity and I just gave them a little,

05:49dessert
06:19Hey guys, I've just been chatting to them, some really good news, some exciting news
06:49Yes
06:50So apparently the bull shark has the most amount of testosterone out of any animal in the world
06:55Yeah
06:56So more than a grizzly bear
06:58So that's why they're super aggressive
07:00Built for rage
07:02Yeah, nothing but rushing, killing the car
07:05Yeah, right
07:06Have fun
07:07You know you're going in when you've got a black suit on, don't you?
07:19Okay
07:20Now I've lost my mask again
07:24There's a mask, yeah
07:25Oh thank god
07:26Am I alright champion?
07:29Yeah
07:30You alright?
07:31Yeah
07:32You alright?
07:33It's like a bit of swimming, doesn't it?
07:35Deep breaths in through the nose
07:37Yeah, don't have a bit of it
07:38Start through the mouth
07:39Don't put them on there
07:40Just spray this one
07:41Oh no
07:42Smell of your fear
07:44Sharks can smell fear
07:46Help me
07:47Help me
07:48Help me
07:49Help me
07:50Help me
07:51Help me
07:52Help me
07:53Turn off
07:54Tank is on
07:55Yeah
07:56Once you shoot that, once you enter into the water, we may ask you to hold on the line
07:58Right?
07:59Yeah
08:00Okay?
08:01Heaps of sharks down there, it's a bit exciting but I am not as comfortable as I could otherwise
08:11be
08:12I'll do it too
08:13That works as a start
08:15Can I?
08:16Oh no
08:17This guy's doing the sharks
08:19What a stupid thing to do
08:21Alright
08:22I've done the running of the bulls in Spain
08:24Yeah
08:25And the running of the bulls takes a lot of courage as a Spanish man
08:28Yeah
08:29But as an Australian man, I'm not sure if I'm going to do the swimming of the bull sharks
08:33It's kind of a
08:34How much flake have you served to people over here?
08:37Oh, this is karma
08:38Don't let's not have this conversation before we go in
08:40It was nice to meet you
08:41Cliff
08:42Love you too
08:43Love you
08:44Good luck, Godspeed
08:45I'm right behind you, brother
08:46Pick that ball
08:50Robby, just enjoy it
08:51Yeah
08:52Oh, you're beauty
08:54Soak it up
08:55If you run out of air, just grab onto a bull shark and just ride it up to the surface
09:00Thank you for the invitation to this party
09:02By the way, don't look over before you jump in, there's a lot of things in there
09:05Yeah
09:06Everything in line
09:07Are we good?
09:08You look like a fishing enemy
09:10A little bit of confidence, but apart from that, no
09:14No
09:15Oh, you remember that time that you watched the movie Jaws?
09:18Yeah
09:19Remember how many people died in that movie?
09:21Oh, yeah
09:22Like, put that as far out of your mind as you can
09:24Oh, yeah
09:35Oh my God, I'm getting a bit emotional
09:37It's been pretty funny watching them absolutely poo themselves
09:40But there's also a little bit of me that goes, if something bad does happen, I feel like it's our fault
09:46Oh, well, we're responsible
09:47Like
09:48There's no doubt about it, we pushed them into this
09:50I mean, the idea of it was funny, but now the reality has set in
09:54When I saw, when we poked our head over the side, saw how many sharks there were
09:57Sharks circling the boat before they even entered the water
10:01That's ominous
10:02Like, imagine just a pair of goggles just comes and floats to the surface
10:05What do we do then?
10:06We're a brown cloud
10:07I actually have a bit of FOMO, not gonna lie
10:12It's been a long
10:13Yeah
10:14We're gonna play that one
10:15We really did
10:16We're gonna be clear
10:17No
10:18No
10:19No
10:21No
10:23No
10:24No
10:27No
10:28No
10:29No
10:31No
10:32No
10:33No
10:35No
10:36No
10:37No
10:38No
10:39No
12:11I think it was sweat.
12:11Was I that or a fair bit of wee?
12:13I'm not sure.
12:14I think he just lost control of everything.
12:16The pheromones, the adrenaline that's running through his body.
12:19Sharks, they smell fear.
12:21They do.
12:22Hey, that's not a good combo.
12:23And he's terrified.
12:24I couldn't chat to him before.
12:25I thought he was going to punch me.
12:27Yeah.
12:28Yeah.
12:28This is the most scared I have ever seen, Rob.
12:31Legitimately scared.
12:32Which is also a bit of fun, too, isn't it?
12:34Yeah, this is how it is.
12:36Like, screw him.
12:37He's got a fair bit of confidence on him.
12:39I know.
12:39It's time he knocked it down a little bit.
12:40Knocked him down a few pegs.
12:41Knocked him down a few pegs.
13:11Knocked him down a few pegs.
13:41Knocked him down a few pegs.
14:04Knocked him down a few pegs.
14:07Oh, that was just incredible, eh?
14:20That was awesome.
14:21At that point, that one moment where all the bull sharks attacked the bucket and it was
14:28a frenzy.
14:29Okay, so the bucket comes down with you.
14:32It turned in like a huge mosh.
14:34You know when, like, they play the big one and everyone just mosh, like in it.
14:40Straight to the dance floor.
14:42So you don't hate us?
14:43No.
14:44No, we love you.
14:45Yeah.
14:46You're the best.
14:47Yeah.
14:48You're good.
14:49I'm so happy for you, dudes.
14:51That's mega.
14:52Yes.
14:53Oh, that was just the best.
14:59That was amazing.
15:01You did.
15:02All right.
15:03Woo!
15:04You did so good.
15:07Three tail slaps.
15:09That was fun.
15:11That was really good fun.
15:13Yes!
15:14Yes!
15:15Yes!
15:16Yes!
15:17Yes!
15:18Yes!
15:19Yes!
15:20Yes!
15:21Yes!
15:22Yes!
15:23Yes!
15:24Yes!
15:25Yes!
15:26Yes!
15:27Yes!
15:28Yes!
15:29Good job!
15:30Good job.
15:31How was it?
15:32It was very intense.
15:33The first couple of minutes.
15:34It was really adrenaline running.
15:36Some of that was in my big.
15:38If you settle down, you can understand the sea harmonious is everything.
15:41And the fear is all in your head a little bit.
15:43A little bit.
15:44Those few minutes, I'm going to be honest with you, I was panicking a little bit.
15:48Just a little bit.
15:49Yeah, mate.
15:50You look pretty chug.
15:51But you know what, guys?
15:52You went down and the Fijian locals squeezed my hand and looked at me and said, you OK?
15:58And he was looking after me.
15:59I felt good.
16:00And credit to all these people.
16:01They made you feel super safe.
16:03It was great.
16:04They all surrounded you like a little army of people, making sure they got your back.
16:13Oh, thank you, mate.
16:15Really nice to...
16:16Wild.
16:17It's done.
16:18Hey, nothing like a bit of peer pressure to talk you into something you don't want to do,
16:22and it turns out to be one of the best experiences of your life.
16:25We had told you that's what we had planned, you wouldn't have done it.
16:27So we entered the old sneaky, surprise-a-roo, and look at you now.
16:31Look at those smiles.
16:32It worked.
16:33Definitely an experience I'm never going to forget, and I would love to do it again.
16:37Wow.
16:38That's good feedback.
16:39That's a good recommendation, yeah.
16:40It's amazing how quickly your confidence builds around them.
16:43You go down there, and my initial thoughts were, how am I going to do this for half an hour?
16:49But then you sit there, and they come closer, and they come closer, and they brush Tom in the face.
16:53And by the end of it, you just want to go out with them, don't you?
16:57You want to get out there and be amongst it.
16:59So we're all still friends?
17:00We're all still friends.
17:01That'd be a good idea.
17:02Yay!
17:03Yay!
17:04Yay!
17:05I'm glad you enjoyed the surprise.
17:09I think shark diving is an accelerating experience.
17:14They really activate all your senses in every way.
17:18And I think for someone who's never done it, to get that amazing side of nature and feel the adrenalina, adrenaline, over your veins running at the same time you're enjoying such an amazing part of the ocean, I think it's definitely a bucket list that everyone is giving it a go.
17:34Because the locals around you are there to make sure that this is the most amazing experience underwater of your life.
17:40And that's what it was for me, the most amazing experience of my life.
17:44It was good.
17:45Over the course of this series, I'm going to be sharing with you a whole heap of practical tips and boating advice, including the art of reversing a trailer.
18:03Something that I dare say I have mastered over the last many years.
18:10Oh hello!
18:12We are up in the home of exhilarating sports and activities, the beautiful Queenstown guys!
18:22Yes!
18:23Isn't it fun?
18:24Well good.
18:25And today on the menu we have Hydro Attack.
18:28What?
18:29I know what you're thinking.
18:30Super soakers and water pistols.
18:32Uh uh uh.
18:33This is thrills and spills.
18:36Welcome Tom, welcome Dave, please explain to the guys and to myself what Hydro Attack is all about.
18:42Yeah, so it's a little shark boat basically.
18:46So it's a mixture between a torpedo, a boat, a submarine fighter jet.
18:52We can basically seal the cockpit so we can go underwater to about one and a half meters deep, two meters deep.
18:58And we can watch it out from there.
19:00We can go 90 degrees sideways as well.
19:02Wow.
19:03So you can see into the water and it's crystal clear here.
19:05How fast are we talking?
19:06So we can get up to 80 kilometers an hour.
19:08What?
19:09Tom, any chance of us to have a little bit of a turn and drive?
19:13Well, I've heard about you guys.
19:14Absolutely not.
19:15Oh!
19:16No chance.
19:17Computer, say no!
19:20So what's the plan?
19:21What are we going to be doing?
19:22So we're going to get one of you guys at a time in the shark.
19:25I'll take you out for a spin.
19:27Do all the tricks.
19:28See how you feel.
19:29And then we'll keep swapping it around and I believe you're the first one to go.
19:34Let's go!
19:36Let's go.
19:37Let's go.
19:38Let's go.
19:39Let's go.
19:40Let's go.
19:41Let's go.
19:42Okay.
19:43You're kidding me.
19:44What?
19:46Oh my God.
19:47It's so clear.
19:49It's amazing.
19:51It's so good.
19:53Why?
19:54F*** up!
19:55Oh my God.
19:56That is really cool.
20:01Stop it!
20:03Stop it!
20:07Okay, okay!
20:12I'm going to fog this thing up again, just slowly yapping at the carry.
20:17I like this feeling. This feeling is so good.
20:22Stop it!
20:29Thumbs up!
20:32It's really quite a surreal feeling.
20:35You know, it's like you kind of want to go to hold your breath when you're under.
20:38You're like, hang on a second, I can breathe.
20:40It's so weird!
20:41A lot of talking noises in the back.
20:44I was just, he's like, I think we need to open this up.
20:46We're fogging up. Too much yapping occurring.
20:49Oh, unreal.
20:53Alright.
20:54Oh, wow!
20:56Oh, wow!
21:00Woo-hoo-hoo!
21:01Woo-hoo-hoo!
21:03Woo-hoo-hoo-hoo!
21:05Oh, wow!
21:07That's awesome!
21:08Yeah!
21:09Woo-hoo-hoo-hoo!
21:10Woo-hoo-hoo-hoo!
21:11Oh, wow!
21:13That's awesome!
21:15Yeah!
21:16Woo-hoo-hoo-hoo!
21:17Woo-hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo!
21:18Woo-hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo!
21:19Woo-hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo!
21:20Woo-hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo!
21:21Woo-hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo!
21:22That's so awesome!
21:26Yeah!
21:34Wow!
21:36Wow!
21:42Ah, good stuff, Tom.
21:44Good stuff, Tom.
21:50That's so much fun.
21:51Who's going under the water?
21:52I've never been in a submarine,
21:54but that's the closest thing to it, right?
21:56You just feel totally immersed into the water.
21:59It's like you're in this capsule.
22:01It's very space-like.
22:03You think when you go down
22:05and you know you're going to come up
22:07for the big, big, let's go vertical.
22:09Yeah.
22:10And then you feel like you're hanging for ages.
22:13Like, you're going, oh!
22:15We must be airborne.
22:17Next up was Rob.
22:19He's a big boy,
22:20and getting him in the shark was never going to be easy.
22:24Oh, Ben.
22:25How is he?
22:26Yeah.
22:27Oh, I think we're in.
22:32All good? Oh, yeah.
22:33Very good, very good.
22:35Oh, you're joking.
22:37Wow, look at it.
22:40We're under the water.
22:42Oh!
22:43Oh, that was amazing.
22:48That underwater stuff is just incredible.
22:52Oh, yeah, let's do it.
22:54Move.
22:55Oh, under it goes.
22:57God, I feel like I'm in a movie.
23:01Woo!
23:02How'd you go, bro?
23:03This is brilliant.
23:04Yeah, it's fun, isn't it?
23:05If you had more money than cents, you'd buy five of these, wouldn't you?
23:07Yeah.
23:08And just take them out with your mates.
23:09It's just so much fun.
23:10It's the ultimate toy.
23:11Last up was Miguel.
23:12He was unusually quiet and clearly anxious.
23:13Close it up, shut him up, let's go.
23:15While it all started out as a bit of light-hearted fun, Miguel doesn't like confined spaces and a pair of tight underpants triggers a serious bout of claustrophobia.
23:25There we go.
23:26Perfect.
23:27Actually, I can't.
23:28Sorry, my feet are moving forward.
23:29I'm so sorry.
23:30There's one kid in every group, isn't there?
23:31I can't feet.
23:32I can't.
23:33What's that?
23:34What do you like to do?
23:35Come on, let's go.
23:36Come on, let's go.
23:37Come on, let's go.
23:38Come on, let's go.
23:39Come on, let's go.
23:40Come on, let's go.
23:41Come on, let's go.
23:42Come on, let's go.
23:43Come on, let's go.
23:44Come on, let's go, we're in a minute.
23:45Let's go.
23:46Let's go.
23:47Let's go.
23:48Well, it all started out as a bit of light-hearted fun.
23:50Miguel doesn't like confined spaces and a pair of tight underpants triggers a serious bout
23:53of claustrophobia.
23:54There we go.
23:55Perfect.
23:56Oh, actually, I can't.
23:57Sorry my feet are moving forward.
23:58I'm so sorry.
24:01What are you doing, Miguel?
24:02Get back in there.
24:03Get back in there.
24:04Whoa.
24:05Miguel.
24:06My leg got stuck in there.
24:08One second, one second.
24:10Miguel.
24:11Oh, sorry.
24:13My legs were twisted.
24:14I can't.
24:15You got to be in the coin slot showing, too.
24:17You can pull your pants up.
24:18Hey, Andy.
24:19What's up, buddy?
24:20You seem a little bit uncomfortable there.
24:21You feel a little bit claustrophobic.
24:23Really?
24:24Yeah.
24:25A few dead breaths.
24:26I feel like I was inside, like, I couldn't.
24:29Okay, so my legs really had to go on the way that back.
24:34Yeah, just because of the current controls.
24:36You got it, mate.
24:37There you go.
24:38After an extended break, Miguel regathers himself and climbs back on board.
24:44Whoa!
24:45Whoa!
24:46Whoo!
24:47Whoa!
24:48Whoa!
24:49Whoa!
24:50Whoa!
24:55Whoa!
24:56Whoo!
24:57Whoo!
24:58Oh, look at this.
25:13A big sandbird.
25:15Whoa!
25:16Whoo!
25:17How much?
25:18Oh, look at this.
25:19A big sandbird.
25:20Whoa!
25:21Whoo!
25:23That was.
25:24Vamos!
25:28Vamos!
25:30Let's go!
25:33Wow!
25:38Wow!
25:42Wow!
25:44Woo-hoo!
25:46Watch out, guys, Spanish speaker!
25:49Oh, my God!
25:51That was amazing!
25:52All-A-G!
25:55Woo-hoo!
25:57The most crazy feeling is I have a little fluff in here
25:59and we had to open the window.
26:01We had a little fluff.
26:02Oh, a fluff!
26:03Not in confined spaces.
26:04Thank you, Tom.
26:05Thank you, Dave.
26:06Hydro attack.
26:07Superstar.
26:08Fantastic fun.
26:09Something I have never, ever experienced before.
26:12That was a real thrill.
26:13Excellent.
26:14Thank you very much for coming, guys.
26:15Glad everybody fit in and everybody was comfortable in the end.
26:19I mean, some things took longer than others,
26:21but we got there.
26:23Well, you didn't really find it peaceful once you got in and shut the door.
26:27No, it was amazing.
26:28You don't know what to expect,
26:30but I think the submerging is probably the coolest feeling.
26:33It almost feels like you're in outer space or something.
26:35Yeah, totally.
26:36The water's so clear.
26:37You see it rushing over the roof.
26:39And for me, that was the best part.
26:41Tom, on a decibel scale, who was the loudest?
26:44Ooh.
26:45Oh!
26:46Oh!
26:47Woo!
26:48Woo!
26:49Woo!
26:50Woo!
26:51Woo!
26:52Maybe you were the loudest.
26:53Yay!
26:55Especially getting in and out.
26:57Yes!
26:58Yes!
26:59Reigning champion of the decibel!
27:02Well, Chalk, another great experience up here in Queenstown.
27:05Thank you, guys.
27:06Hydro attack all the way.
27:08Done.
27:13You did it!
27:14You did it!
27:15That's the best one in the history of the show!
27:19Well, this next story completely blows me away.
27:26Rob and I got a chance to meet a Kiwi ocean swimmer called Judy Johnson.
27:30And it's Judy's encounter with not one, but an entire family of killer whales,
27:37yes, orcas, that has to be seen to be believed.
27:40Take a look.
27:45We're privileged today to be chatting with Judy Johnson of New Zealand.
27:48Ha Ha Beach, to be precise.
27:50And Judy did something quite extraordinary not long ago, and that was swim with one of
27:55the world's apex predators.
27:57And she lives to tell the tale.
27:59Well, Judy, tell us about the whole experience.
28:02I walked down to the beach.
28:04Nobody else was there.
28:06And I looked around and thought, well, I guess it's just me.
28:09So I thought, oh, I'll swim by myself.
28:12I'm not sure how far I'd gone, maybe 50, 100 metres.
28:15And then these black shapes came up behind me and I was thinking, oh, wow, dolphins.
28:22That's really cool.
28:24And then when there was this big shape came in front of me and I saw the big white marking
28:30that identified it as an orca.
28:33Wow.
28:34It was sort of, oh, God, what's happening now?
28:37So I was pretty anxious.
28:39Did you feel in danger?
28:44I guess I realised they were orca and I, you know, the anxiety shot up.
28:49And I thought, what now?
28:51You know, I'm in a black wetsuit.
28:53They eat seals.
28:56Seals.
28:57And, you know, I was hoping...
28:58Might be assuming you're a...
28:59The seal.
29:00And, yeah, so I did.
29:02I felt quite anxious.
29:03And through my mind I was thinking, I've never heard of them killing humans in the wild,
29:10in captivity, I remember hearing once about it.
29:13Yes.
29:14Because no one swims with them, do you?
29:16No one swims with them.
29:17So rather than panic and head to the safety of the beach, amazingly, Judy just kept swimming.
29:24And the orcas just kept on following.
29:27And, look, it wasn't until the mother...
29:30The beach was probably 20 metres away and she swam alongside me.
29:35And as I'm breathing, while I'm swimming, we were eyeball to eyeball about this distance.
29:41And she had this huge eye and she just looked at me and I looked at her.
29:45And I think we made a pact that, you know, I won't touch you if you don't touch me.
29:50And they just felt non-threatening.
29:53Was it that moment that your anxiety sort of eased and you felt a little bit more at home?
29:58Yeah.
29:59Yeah, it was actually.
30:00It eased.
30:01It didn't disappear.
30:02It eased.
30:03Did you ever have a think and say, hmm, I might be in trouble?
30:06Because it only takes an orca one little bite to ruin your day.
30:12I think once we'd had this eye to eye and I truly felt they didn't mean me any harm.
30:19So, yeah, I just kept swimming and thought, well, we'll see what happens.
30:24And by then there were quite a few people on the beach and I knew I was being observed.
30:29But it started to be quite fun and quite pleasurable.
30:34And I thought, wow, I couldn't believe it was happening to me.
30:38I mean, I felt excited.
30:40Yeah, it was quite a thrilling experience.
30:45It was such a big group of people down the other end.
31:13I thought, oh, perhaps I'd better get out.
31:15They're all wondering what's happening.
31:17And so I got out and I chatted briefly to some.
31:21What was everyone's reaction on the beach?
31:23Were they like shouting to you to come in or were they concerned about you?
31:29Maybe concerned.
31:30There wasn't any shouting.
31:31I think, well, they had the cameras out.
31:33Yeah.
31:34But no, nobody sort of came in to save me.
31:37Rather than walk back to her car, Judy incredibly decides to get back in the water to swim the return leg.
31:45And guess who follows her?
31:47All the way home.
31:50And a lot of people thought I was nuts doing this.
31:52I got back in the water and the orca, the three of them just turned around and came back with me.
31:59It was quite amazing.
32:00And by then I felt like we were a family just about it.
32:03We're all ocean swimmers, Judy, but I don't think anybody would decide, oh, I'll just jump back in.
32:09I know that.
32:10Only a kiwi, right?
32:11No.
32:12Look, I still wonder why he did it, but it was exhilarating.
32:16And then coming back, I just kept swimming and eventually got back to where I started.
32:22Could you hear them?
32:23Were they making any noise?
32:24No.
32:25None at all.
32:26No?
32:27No.
32:28That's more a dolphin, I think.
32:30No, they didn't.
32:31They didn't make any sound and nor did I.
32:34So we just kept swimming.
32:36Yeah.
32:37By chance, a drone operator just happened to be in the area to record a once in a lifetime encounter.
32:46It means nothing unless it's recorded, right?
32:49Absolutely.
32:50How fortunate to have the drone operator capture this entire moment.
32:55Yeah.
32:56Actually, I thought that.
32:57When I saw the drone, that really excited me and I thought, imagine if I got to see this.
33:02Little knowing that it was going to become as big as it has.
33:06So I'm very grateful that he was there.
33:09The proof is right there.
33:10That's right.
33:11It's not Judy saying, it was this big, guys.
33:13It was incredible for me to see that at that exact moment.
33:16My heart stopped a few times watching that footage, watching it on the monitor while I was filming.
33:21I didn't know what was going to happen and I was, yeah, super concerned for her.
33:24They showed it on the news and it really started to become quite a big deal.
33:29You know, 30 million people have been, you know, privileged enough to see you do that swim.
33:35I just feel incredibly fortunate because it was one of those once in a lifetime sort of experiences.
33:42And I mean, even reliving it is pretty damn exciting too.
33:47I bet you everybody in the swimming group is kicking themselves.
33:50They didn't go down for the morning swim on that Tuesday.
33:53One friend, she followed me for the next two days and said, I'm not letting you out of my sight.
33:58So yeah, that was.
33:59Judy, I don't know that we're going to find any orcas out there, but I'm cold.
34:03Maybe, maybe we will.
34:04But how about we go and relive some of your swimming magic.
34:07Let's do that.
34:08On our side of the ditch.
34:09Yeah, I'd love to.
34:10Yeah.
34:11All right, Judy.
34:12This is us.
34:13Paradise.
34:14Before us.
34:15And we're going to go for a little swim.
34:16You never know what we might find.
34:18In fact, is that an orca?
34:20No.
34:21Don't be stupid.
34:22You wouldn't get an orca here.
34:24Surely.
34:25I thought I saw it anyway.
34:26Let's go for a swim.
34:27Okay.
34:28This is as an orca.
34:29The Escobar blありがとうございます and's nothing with his room.
34:31And I go on because I've got hands inside.
34:34I think this is the best folly.
34:35And I'm at the Accobar.
34:37I've gone for a little grab.
34:38Let's go.
34:39I don't know who this is.
34:40I've gone for aależy스로.
34:41You never know who this is.
34:42It's an orca!
34:58It's an orca!
35:01It's an orca!
35:03Oh, boy!
35:05Shoot him! Shoot him!
35:07It's an orca!
35:12I don't believe that.
35:39I still can't believe Judy.
35:41I mean, you know, she's swimming with a family of killer whales
35:45and any normal human would swim into the beach for safety,
35:49but no, she kept going.
35:50Yeah, she has an amazing energy about her, Judy,
35:53and a beautiful vibe
35:54and such a magnificent backstroke as well.
35:58I've never seen a backstroke so gracious.
36:02Next up, Grant, Rob and I went to test drive some new jet surfboards.
36:06Check it out.
36:07All right, guys, who's ready to learn how to use an electric jetboard?
36:14Hey, let's go!
36:14Yes, please!
36:15All right.
36:16Sounds deadly.
36:17All right, look at these things.
36:19Look at it.
36:19They are heavy, aren't they?
36:20Are they actually jets?
36:21Yeah, so it's a jet engine in the base of the board,
36:24kind of like a jet ski, but you're on your feet.
36:25How do you get up and going?
36:27So it's basically like a conventional surfboard,
36:29but like I said, it's got a jet engine in the bottom of it.
36:31So you start on your stomach, you hold the control in your hand,
36:34and then you pop up onto your feet.
36:36So easy, right?
36:38So if someone was, say, for instance, an idiot,
36:41would they be able to operate this reasonably easily?
36:44I'm paying a dollar and one cent so he can get up on his feet straight away.
36:48Wow.
36:48Wait.
36:49Yes.
36:49Give us a rundown of the boards.
36:51How does it all work?
36:52All right, so it's as simple as you've got a key here,
36:56you attach the board, and then you put this around your wrist,
36:59and then trigger and go.
37:00Oh, they're back.
37:02Okay, so you want that in the right hand?
37:04Yeah.
37:05Why are you giving me the instructions?
37:06He's the professional.
37:07Sorry.
37:08I'll tell you.
37:09One's got no fear, the other's got no brains.
37:12What hope have I got?
37:13Like, I can't out-compete any of these two lunatics.
37:16I'm too sensible.
37:22I'll give it a squeeze now.
37:23He doesn't give it a squeeze.
37:26Oh, that's the back.
37:28I thought that was the front.
37:29I thought that was the back.
37:30Oh, thank God.
37:32No, you can't.
37:33Get out there.
37:35I believe in you.
37:38I can't even lift it.
37:40Is this right?
37:41It's...
37:41Stop laughing.
37:46It's like watching your kids go off to free skiing.
37:48After a good start, I realised that surfing mightn't be my thing.
37:55I couldn't let Gran have all the fun, so I decided to join in on the party.
38:19Oh, she's up.
38:19Oh, she's up.
38:21Oh, and she's up.
38:21Look at this.
38:23Oh, too crazy.
38:26It's like she was born on the thing.
38:29Some people are just born with talent.
38:31So far.
38:32So far.
38:33Really fast.
38:34Really fast.
38:35Good luck.
38:39Good luck to your health.
38:40It's really hard to stand up.
38:45This is pretty fast for me.
38:47I've got it.
38:48Just go.
38:48You're just ridiculous.
38:50Okay.
38:51Here we go.
38:52Try that.
38:52Play on.
38:55Whoa.
38:55Whoa.
38:56Whoa.
38:56Whoa.
38:56Whoa.
38:56Whoa.
38:56Whoa.
38:56Whoa.
38:57Whoa.
38:57Whoa.
38:57Whoa.
38:58Whoa.
38:58Whoa.
38:59Whoa.
38:59Whoa.
38:59Whoa.
39:00Whoa.
39:00Whoa.
39:00Whoa.
39:01Whoa.
39:01Whoa.
39:02Whoa.
39:02Whoa.
39:02Whoa.
39:03Whoa.
39:03Back leg looks a little bit straight, though.
39:05Could maybe fix that style ever so slightly.
39:09Ah!
39:10Whoa.
39:13After a bit of practice, we all started to get the hang of it,
39:16and it was time to cut loose.
39:33It was all going so well until Rob took a nasty phase plant.
39:40Hold on, I've got a tummy ache.
39:44You know when you see those guys in the cricket get hit right in the Jats Crackers with a
39:48cricket ball.
39:49I've just done the same thing on the water.
39:52What happened here?
39:53Oh, just like, I was turning, the board just came out from under me, I've gone, oh, balls
39:59straight into the water, like really hard.
40:01Oh no.
40:02I've got a tummy ache, mate.
40:04There's a lot of floating going on, not a lot of surfing.
40:06Oh, come on now.
40:07I'm trying.
40:08Oh no.
40:09I'm trying in the best possible way.
40:13These things are unbelievable.
40:15They're so fast.
40:16They're so fast.
40:17It's so fun.
40:18Standing up's the hard part.
40:19Once you're up, no problems.
40:21You're up until you try and turn it full tilt.
40:24I've been throwing about 50 metres from the board on more than three occasions.
40:28How do you reckon we go on the wake of a boat?
40:30Look, I reckon it'll be fine on the wake of a boat, but how's the injury going?
40:34Well, my stomach aches subsiding, so I'm almost ready to get back on the board.
40:37Great.
40:38I'm going to go on the surf then.
40:39Yeah, quite possibly.
40:40Let's go.
40:41Come on.
40:42Let's go.
40:43Seriously, when you're riding the lake, you go up to bank off a little bit of wave and
41:09it kind of propels you forward.
41:11You're going even faster than what you actually are.
41:14When I came off, I was like, wow, I've seen that going.
41:19So fun, so fun.
41:21Behind a boat's even better.
41:22I mean, you just get more speed banking off that little bit of wave that you get.
41:25Rob, you know, he did all right, but he didn't last long behind the wave.
41:29I mean, I left it in my dust.
41:31Did you hurt yourself when you fell off at all?
41:34Yeah.
41:35You hit the water at that speed.
41:36You had a couple of injuries.
41:37I took the crown jewels out by accident.
41:41Did you?
41:42Yeah, just hit the water hard.
41:44You had the most style.
41:46Like, your form was good.
41:47You could do tight circles.
41:48Our corners were like, it took us a kilometre.
41:50The journey circle was quite wide.
41:52You never looked out of control for a second.
41:54That was what I couldn't get over.
41:56I was going, she just seems to be able to do it.
41:58Well, you bloody hope so, considering I do it for a minute.
42:00Yeah, well, that's true.
42:01Yeah.
42:02All class, all ass.
42:03What did you think of the wake?
42:04The wake was it for me, because not only do you have the power of the board, but you've
42:08also got the power of that wake.
42:10And as soon as you hit that little bit of foam, it'll propel you a little bit more forward,
42:15you know?
42:16Yeah, cool.
42:17If you eat it in that moment, you're going to know all about it.
42:20I like, though, how we could all do it.
42:21Like, yeah, you're a pro who, like, surfs a 30-foot wave, but also, I've never surfed
42:27before.
42:28You know what I mean?
42:29So, if you have, like, friends, kids, adults, like, anyone can do it.
42:32Oh, for sure.
42:33Like, I can't do what you do, but I could do that.
42:34This is very user-friendly.
42:35Yeah.
42:36I feel like I got, like, 5% of what you do today.
42:39Would you take this into a big wave in Hawaii?
42:43I reckon it'd go really well.
42:45Bring it on.
42:46You are a special human.
42:47I like it.
42:48I love it.
42:49Challenge accepted.
42:50I love it.
42:51Yeah.
42:59That's all we've got time for.
43:00Everyone have fun.
43:03Join us next time on Top Knotts, where we travel to the land of the long white cloud,
43:08and we're going to take a giant blow-up unicorn down one of New Zealand's most treacherous
43:15rivers.
43:16It is crazy.
43:17We receive a very hostile NZ welcome before taking a spectacular chopper ride to Miguel's
43:24Glacier Kitchen.
43:25And finally, things get totally out of control when Grant, our adrenaline junkie, takes the
43:30boost offshore power boat for a high-speed ride.
43:34All of that and a whole lot more on your new home of entertainment, Top Knotts!
43:40Yeah!
43:41Greatú!
43:49We have to greatix you guys.
43:51Yay- high!
43:52Cheers!
43:54Alright, we'll bring you my thoughts here.
43:55Our dad is running around here, all right.
43:56We'll bring you inside.
43:57We'll bring you on.
43:58We do this tonight.
44:00PrCrowd is playing in California.
44:01W dormir?
44:02Yes.
44:03We'll bring you our cleanetracked clothes.
