00:00This is my first time in the front of the van. I'm a backseat princess. Here we have
00:05a collection of edibles. We have a little duck that we were that we were gifted in Allentown.
00:30Hi, I'm Isa from Slowcrash and this is Greg, our driver. Hello. And we are here on our full
00:46US headline tour for our new album Thirst, together with our friends Fade Tooth and Flooding
00:51at the minute. Right now we are just about to play our eighth show on the tour at Reggie's
00:57and Chicago, which is, I believe, sold out. And we're super excited. So thank you for
01:03having us on Lesson Vaders. So yeah, on this tour, I'm pretty much doing all the driving,
01:10which is fun. I enjoy it. And also tour managing for this one and having fun with that. And
01:19just being cool. Okay, I guess. Thanks. That's all. Yeah, we do have a couple of longer stretches
01:24on the route, so we may shift it up a little. Yeah. Get Greg to lay back in the back and
01:31not sleep because he does not trust anyone else driving. It's not me. It's a nice experience.
01:37Yeah. But yeah, we love him and he's a great driver, so feel free to book him after we're
01:43done with him. We will keep him with more priests, I promise. Yeah, this is my first time in the
01:49front of the van. I'm a backseat princess at the minute. But no, it's comfy. It's comfy up here.
01:57Usually Andy, our merch guy. He's a merch guy. He's got two pillows. So he's got one where he
02:06sits and cuddles it, and the second one he puts behind him. Yeah. And then he's usually asleep
02:15or listening to music, which is fine. I don't mind it. I listen to pretty much whatever I'm feeling
02:25in the day or like in that moment. It is literally from Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey to a band called
02:34Colch, a band called... It's just as wide as it can go. Andy and I listen to a lot of like older pop
02:42punk stuff. I saw Greet Death on earlier. Yeah, Greet Death. And On Chair Expert has been on. Yep,
02:47lots of podcasts. It is a wide range. Most of the time, I try to be respectful in the back
02:56and I have the speakers just kind of up front, but occasionally I'll put it in the back when
03:01everybody's feeling like energized or needs a boost and I'm just like, all right, cool.
03:05After shows, sometimes our ears are a little bit, um, a little bit sensitive or, uh, over,
03:12overexerted. So sometimes we just, like, make it quiet in the back. Yeah. But obviously Greg
03:18needs his wiki wiki music. Of course, of course. I honestly listen to podcasts when I feel most
03:24tired because that is like, a good podcast will just keep you engaged and like, keep you like,
03:29go, can you do this? Sorry. And then of course, these, uh, fancy old Red Bulls that I, uh,
03:37hate admitting that I drink as much as I do, but yeah. Um, yeah. So up here, I usually have my charger
03:44cables, uh, just for all that stuff. Phone mount, typical stuff. Um, this is my cow captain,
03:52instead of co-captain. Uh, my niece, this is my niece's cow that I try to take on most of my tours,
03:59uh, just as like a little fun thing. Um, these are my, uh, the sickest shades that I don't remember
04:08where they came from. I bought them as a joke because I would never actually wear something
04:12like this. But now he does every day. But now I do every day because they're very comfortable. Uh,
04:16and when I put them on, instead of Greg, I am Papa Yui because I'm popping U-turns all the time.
04:23It's like Superman. Exactly. Yeah. So, so Papa Yui, uh, and now I'm Greg again. Um,
04:31so those are my driving shades. I have my normal, normal sunglasses as well. We have a stack of
04:39stickers from Atomic Music. Shout out to Atomic Music. Shout out to Atomic Music. They hooked us up with a
04:44base cab, last minute, um, just before tour started. And, uh, then we also have our drug of
04:52choice on this tour. Dayquil! We've all, um, we've all caught a cold in the first week of tour. So,
04:59I guess better to have it on the first, at the beginning of the tour than, rather than somewhere
05:03in the middle or towards the end. We are all kind of getting over it. So, um, Chicago will be spared,
05:09hopefully. Um, yeah, we have a small... Snacks and trash. It's a mix of snacks and trash. You kind
05:15of have to... Trash snacks. Guess what you're getting. But, I mean, crackers, crunchy things to
05:21keep you awake, uh... And trash. Semi-healthy things to keep you awake, and then trash, yeah. Yeah.
05:26Um... So, we also carry a raccoon on board. Oh yeah. Yeah. And then, uh, Andy has his stack of,
05:32uh, caps. So, what's he got here? He's got ingrown, relapse, and I don't know what... It's a primitive
05:38man. Oh yeah, it's a primitive man! Yeah. Primitive man. Our buddy's primitive man. He is also a
05:42primitive man's merch guy. And then his pants, and we have some tied pods here. So, we do do laundry.
05:51We do do laundry. I'm close to it. Too bad. Right now. All right. So, here we have our collection of edibles.
06:01Edibles. But they're clean edibles. Um, yeah. There is just a mixture of stuff that we've, like,
06:07bought on the road, and also stuff that, uh, have been on our rider. Um, we have some protein
06:13muesli bars. We've got some granola, some warm muesli bars or biscuits, um, ricola, so throat sweets.
06:23A bunch of liquid IV, because you've got to keep hydrated on tour. And then we have some pasta,
06:28some pasta sauce. So, uh, we tried to get Airbnbs, and when we have enough time, then we can cook a big
06:35family meal, um, and just have a relaxing night in with a bottle of wine, maybe. Um, so yeah.
06:42Pasta has been on the menu. Some olive oil, some fruits, and some croissants, apparently.
06:52So yeah, that's in the dry food. And then we also have a cooler that has some, some more veggies,
06:59cheese, some immunity juice, um, some drugs, some insulin. Yeah, a guitar player is, uh, diabetic,
07:09so we've got to keep that cool. Um, and yeah, some more veggies, uh, oat milk, almond milk,
07:20more fruit, and hopefully none of it will expire. Yeah. Yeah, so it's, it's a plug-in cooler. Luckily,
07:26Gregor was able to be, to find one for this tour. Um, it's been... It's too big, but I'm sorry.
07:32It's too big, but it's fine, but it works. It's got its own seat. Yeah. Um, we're traveling with nine
07:37people in LL11, so we've got space for the cooler. The cooler is full. Usually it's Freddy, our drummer,
07:46and his girlfriend Irene that sits here. Um, and so they, they have all the snacks. They are the masters
07:53of snacks, and they also have some puzzles to, to do along the way. All right, so row two, this is
08:03where Ari, our sound engineer, and Nick, our guitar player with the longest legs in the world sits. Um,
08:10they do tend to switch spots occasionally, so both have their pros and cons. Um, this is quite a tight
08:17seat apparently, so it's not for big butts, but it's got all of the leg space, which Greg and I,
08:24sadly don't need. Yeah, we don't need leg space. It's not sad, it's not a sad thing. Yeah, we also need
08:28leg space. Wait, yeah. Yeah. It's fine not having leg space. And then this one, obviously you can lie back.
08:37So, but we also have a lot of luggage, so sometimes there is no space to lie back.
08:42This is another cooler that Ari picked up at a Trader Joe's. Um, it is also full of snacks.
08:49Um, he has apparently bought a huge box of saltwater taffy. I didn't know that.
08:56Ari eats the rainbow. He has very colorful snacks. Um, also some Gatorade. More, more colorful snacks.
09:03Um, and some, some noodles. Yeah. That's good. That's good. That's healthy. And also some seaweed,
09:12roasted seaweed. And water. So that's in there. So one very important life hack is if you want to watch
09:22your Netflix or whatever, you can stick your cell phone just under the headrest and then
09:28your hands free. Nice. My domain of trash. More trash. Judgment. More trash and more food.
09:37Um, yeah. So here, this is, this is where I usually sit. Um, I have a little caddy of things like cups and,
09:45and paper towels. And we have a little duck that we were, that we were gifted in Allentown. Um, so the,
09:53the promoter of production, um, she had a whole collection, a whole family of, of ducks and she
10:00wanted to give it to me. I didn't want to take it to, from her, but then she asked me if I wanted
10:04to see her duck collection. And so I, I allowed her to give it to me because she had tons. And so
10:09thank you. Thank you, Maddie. I love the duck. Um, we also have wardrobe.
10:14So this is where my, my, my stage dresses live along with some more hydration and snacks. I think
10:24Andy's got a couple back there. Andy has a whole crate full of, uh,
10:28he shipped like three or four boxes of just random, yeah, energy drinks and
10:34Redcon energy something to my house before the tour. Um, and then we have more food. So we have more
10:43ramen, always easy to eat and tour. Um, we have a bottle of wine, which is, I don't know how old,
10:52so I'm not sure if this is still drinkable. It may have turned into vinegar. Um, we shall find out.
10:58Uh, then some protein shakes also from Andy, I think. Some empty bottles of water. Um, what else do I have?
11:06I have my van shoes. Well, slippers that I also wear outside of the van. So yeah, I don't know.
11:12You've got to be comfy. Uh, we're in here for a long time. Yeah. Um, and that's it. All right.
11:18We can't open the van completely because of the trailer, but, um, as you can see, we are very organized.
11:27Uh, yeah, we have just some merch stock, uh, and some luggage in here and that's pretty much it.
11:33Yeah. Yeah. So we have some vinyls in here. We like to keep these in the van so that it's
11:39temperature controlled. Um, and then our personal luggage that we take in and out there. We use
11:44in hotels and stuff. Um, we try to keep heads and guitars in the van as well, just so they're not
11:49getting jostled around and all that, especially they use tube heads. So we want to keep those as, uh,
11:56uh, I'll say comfortable as possible, but yeah, you know, temperature controlled and, and, uh,
12:03and shock, shock, shock. That's the better way to put it. Yeah. Thank you.
12:07Yeah. And some, some purchases that we've done along the way. Yeah.
12:11We have been shoe shopping. Um, it wasn't me. I haven't bought anything in this trailer.
12:15Uh, and, uh, yeah, crusty cowlish. Sorry. So, this, this is a wonderful thing. Uh, I highly suggest
12:28every band invest in one. It's called Snatch Latch. Uh, you, granted I've unlocked the trailer before,
12:34but you, there's no way to get bolt cutters up in there and all that. It's a pain in the ass to
12:41get off and all that, but it's also really nice because it just locks down onto this and then
12:50right through there and then you can't open that up once that thing's on. So, I highly suggest
12:55Snatch Latch. Yeah, you're good. Uh, and then, I mean, it's a pretty typical straightforward trailer,
13:05uh, six by 12. Um, U-Haul doesn't supply you with lights. So, I bought a little magnetic light
13:14and just lived there. Highly suggested. We've got some racks for the merch, so if there aren't any
13:21racks in the, in the venue, then we can just bring our own in. So, this is something that I love and I
13:28try to bring it on almost every U.S. tour that I can. I was playing a house show in Richmond, Virginia,
13:34where I live in like 2011 or 2012 and just saw this down there and they're like, yeah sure you
13:41can have it. And I think it's been all over the U.S. and Canada and wherever I've been. Um, so, it's a
13:49rib stick. It's a wiggle stick. Uh, try to bring it on every tour that I can. Uh, and it's super fun.
13:55So, shout out to this thing that still lives on. Uh, yeah, we've got racks. We've got, uh,
14:03Andy's world for merch. And then, at the end of each show, everybody brings out everything. Um,
14:09and I'm usually the one that Tetris' it in. Um, and we've got a very organized way that it
14:19stays loaded so that it's not super nose heavy or tail heavy. Um, and yeah, it's, it, it works, so.
14:28All right, thanks for checking out our van. We have been Slow Crush and this is our new album,
14:34First, out on Pearno's Records. You can grab it on all of your, all of your favorite
14:42streaming platforms. Streaming platforms. Uh, you can buy it off our van camp. Come to a show. Uh,
14:50we are still touring until the 6th of October, so we will be in the States for a long time. Oh,
14:56but this will come out afterwards. Yeah. Sorry. Um, but yeah,
14:59we're also touring in Europe after this comes out. So, come see us. We'll be back in the States as
15:04soon as we can. So, thirst. Thirster. Thirsts.
