At the 2025 Vanity Fair Oscar Party red carpet, director Paul Feig praises Hollywood's creative community and the joy of storytelling. 00:00I wanted to ask, what is your favorite thing about this community of artists and filmmakers in Hollywood right now?

00:06That we're all doing it. We're all, you know, trying to tell our stories and trying to entertain people

00:12and try to do it with high quality and, you know, try to do it responsibly and good-naturedly.

00:18So, you know, yeah, I just think, you know, I love movies and I love that we get to tell stories.

00:23And it's fun to be around all the people that do it.

00:25Is there a performance that really blew you away from this season?

00:30There's so many. I really kind of hate to call any out because everyone was so good.

00:37That's what's so fun, all these movies getting nominated.

00:39I love that they now have, you know, can have 10 nominees.

00:42I think that's great because as far as I'm concerned, there was 20 other movies that didn't get nominated that were amazing, too.

00:49Who do you think Conan's going to roast the most tonight?

00:54I don't know. Conan, he's a live wire. I love Conan.

00:57And I think, you know, having a whole audience full of celebrities is just too much catnip for one comic mind.

01:04And you've been at Vanity Fair before.

01:07What's your number one tip for making it through the night?

01:09Because this is the longest party of the night, I hear.

01:11Oh, it's the best.

01:12What I love about this, the watch party, is we get to go in, have cocktails,

01:15and we get to eat dinner while we're watching the show.

01:17So, you know, it's food and drink really gets you through it.

01:20And also reconnecting with all the people that you haven't seen for a year.

01:24I also wanted to talk about Simple Favor 2.

01:26What are you most excited about for fans to see in this new iteration?

01:30And also, what was it like to reunite with Anna Kendrick and also Blake Lively as well?

01:34Well, I mean, we were so, we had so much fun on the first movie.

01:37And I don't normally do sequels, but I just, I love those characters so much.

01:42And so it was really exciting to get back together with them and do this.

01:45And then I'm just excited for people to see the movie, as weird as that is, as trite as that sounds.

01:51We worked really hard on this story and this script to bring you something different,

01:55but that will still pay off things that you love from the first movie.

01:58And the glitz and the glamour's there, lots of twists and turns.

02:02It's going to be fun.

02:02And I know, of course, you also have been very supportive of Blake as your friend.

02:06And what was it like kind of collaborating with her on this?

02:09Oh, fantastic.

02:11Blake's an amazing collaborator.

02:12I just, you know, she's so smart.

02:15And I just, I really just admire her so much.

02:17And Anna's the same way.

02:18I mean, you know, the three of us really, you know, work on stuff and make sure that we're doing the best.

02:23And they're just both really wonderful artists.

02:27I hear we've got new gin in this movie.

02:29Yeah, we certainly do.

02:31My art is all gin, exactly.

02:32It creeps up on my movies occasionally.

02:34But, yeah, I was like, okay, this time it's going in.

02:37We had aviation last time.

02:38We got art exalts this time.

02:40You got to get in the plug for sure.

02:42Exactly.
