Transcript
00:00Tom Brady finally granted Howard Stern an interview on Wednesday, and the football
00:03player clarified his relationship with President Donald Trump. Stern said he's been trying to get
00:08Brady on his show for 20 years and finally landed him after the NFL superstar signed to play with
00:13the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after two decades with the Patriots. Stern asked a number of times if
00:18the Patriots organization stopped Brady from coming on his show. Brady laughed, but didn't
00:22respond. There was a lot of talk about Brady's decision to leave New England, but Stern also
00:27wanted to know about the football player's scrutinized relationship with the President.
00:30Brady told Stern that Trump asked him to speak at the 2016 Republican National Convention,
00:35but Brady felt uncomfortable with the request and turned him down. Stern said Trump also asked him
00:39to speak at the RNC, and he also felt awkward. Brady went on to tell Stern,
00:43The political support is totally different than the support of a friend. I didn't want to get into
00:47all the political. It is zero win anything. He also mentioned how in 2002, Trump asked him to
00:51judge the Miss USA pageant. Brady continued,
00:54He would call me after games. He became someone who would come to our games and cheer for the
00:58Patriots. For more on this story, head to thr.com. For The Hollywood Reporter News, I'm Tiffany Taylor.
