00:30Becca?
00:33What is that?
00:35Night is a filmmaker that we wanted to work with for a long time.
00:38That was really close, actually, guys.
00:40He's so passionate about what he does, and he's just a great storyteller,
00:44and you really get to see the storytelling when all the bells and whistles are taken away.
00:48I made a decision that I want to do smaller movies,
00:51because I see the potential in the small movie.
00:53I love the small characters and the small locations and all that stuff.
00:56I can tell big, biblical stories in those little locations.
01:00It's 10.47. We think there's someone outside the door.
01:07What the hell was that?
01:08A lot of people say that 80% of your job as a director is casting.
01:15In this movie, the edict was, let's not have anybody super famous in the movie.
01:19I watched and watched and watched and watched the auditions over and over and over again,
01:26and picked these individuals from around the world to star in this movie.
01:30This might be my favorite, perfect constellation of actors.
01:35It's as if these people were the people that I wrote.
01:39Nene, are you okay?
01:44In The Visit, Knight explores themes that he explored in his earlier movies.
01:49He's going back to really scary things.
01:51They're hiding something.
01:52It's just the end of your trip.
01:54It's the smallest movie I've worked on since becoming a professional.
01:58And that's scary, because there's very little room for error.
02:02There's no fallback.
02:05It is dangerous for filmmakers to work on low budgets.
02:08But by taking away all the excess,
02:10it forces you to focus on the character and performance and storytelling.
02:14And I think that's why the movie works as well as it does.
02:16The more you convey that, the more we're going to root for you, right?
02:20Action!
02:21If you're celebrating the unknown of the whole process...
02:25You're hyped and you're fully being activated.
02:27That was it.
02:28That's when I get excited.
02:30I'm doing this because I love the movie.
02:32This level of factors really ignites me.
02:34It's so rewarding.
02:39Would you mind getting inside the oven?
02:43Stop! Nana, stop!
02:46Take care!
