00:00Shortly before 1 p.m. on Saturday, a U.S. military helicopter was on the ground at the A&R Robinson
00:06International Airport. A number of U.S. Marines were observed near the chopper. This comes on the
00:13heels of a radar system at the A&R Robinson International Airport, now being fully operational.
00:19Chief Secretary Farley Augustine held a media conference on Saturday, speaking to these new
00:25developments as the Prime Minister Kamala Passat-Bissessa stated he was not on the National
00:30Security Council and could not be informed. However, Chief Secretary Farley Augustine thanked
00:36the Prime Minister Kamala Passat-Bissessa for sharing sensitive information with him as he is not on the
00:43National Security Council. Mr. Augustine admitted he contacted the Minister of Defence for clarity on
00:50the issue but was not responded to. The press conference was attended by Chief Secretary
00:55Farley Augustine, Minister of Defence Wayne Sturge, Attorney General John Jeremy and Chief of Defence
01:01Staff Don Polo. Former Tobago West MP, Sham-Fuck-Jo Lewis, has spoken out on the matter. She stated,
01:09quote, No, we don't want clarity on your battlefield operations radar system. We want the military
01:16equipment removed from Tobago. Good morning to the Tobagonians who claim to care about autonomy,
01:22the conveniently independent and the ones who stand up to fight PNM but lie down and take ambush from
01:29the UNC. Good morning. This is not about politics. This is about people. Not only about disrespect but
01:36about life and death. To the residents of Crong Point and Environs, Tobago West, Tobago by extension,
01:43then and where were you consulted? Tobagonians owe the deafening silence. When our love for party
01:50trumps our human dignity, Tobagonian identity or care for ourselves and our concern for our
01:57island's development. Interesting times indeed. Elizabeth Williams, TV6 News.
