Vaya Con Dios (Spanish for Go with God), founded in 1986 in Brussels, Belgium, is one of the country’s most internationally successful bands. Created by singer Dani Klein, bassist Dirk Schoufs, and guitarist Willy Lambregt, the band quickly gained recognition for their unique blend of jazz, blues, flamenco, and Latin influences, paired with Klein’s soulful voice. The trio's first single "Just a Friend of Mine" (1987) entered the top 20 in Belgium, and became a top 10 hit in France, but at that point Lambregts left the band. Their self-titled debut album, “Vaya Con Dios” (1988), marked the beginning of their global acclaim. “Night Owls” (1990) cemented their reputation with timeless hits like "Nah Neh Nah" and "What’s a Woman." The single "Don't Break My Heart" came from their fourth album “Roots and Wings” (1995). Vaya Con Dios was one of the most successful Belgian music acts ever, having sold more than 10 million albums and more than 3 million singles. The group disbanded in 2014 but made a comeback in 2022 with the album “What’s a Woman”. This live performance of “Don’t break My Heart” is from the Grand Gala du Disc, the annual TV gala of AVRO Television in the Netherlands, on October 3, 1995. #vayacondios #90s #toppop
