00:00Well Leah, congratulations. We are here with Skate Canada Challenge Junior Women's Champion
00:15for the second year in a row, Leah Cho. Tell me about your skate today.
00:21It honestly felt amazing today skating my local city and this is like a wonderful environment, a facility too and I just feel so grateful to compete here in Calgary.
00:35So you enjoy competing at home in Calgary. That's good to hear. Now I was looking at your scores and last year you had 186.5.
00:45You are very consistent with your skating and your scores but what have you done from last year to this year?
00:51Well this year I've been focusing on like calming myself down and focusing on performance and not thinking all about my jumps.
00:59And skating is a beautiful sport and it's mostly about artistic everything so that's what I'm working on right now.
01:07To focus on my performance and calming myself down because I get very nervous before competition.
01:13Really? Because it doesn't show. But let's talk about your performance because this is a very powerful program.
01:19You appreciate it so intimately. Tell me who did the program and why you like it.
01:23Jeffrey Votto did my program. Well when he came to Calgary he was like this is a very strong piece of music and he wants to show like what the different emotions I have.
01:34And that's like what I was working on a lot with Jeffrey and Jeffrey is such an amazing choreographer.
01:41So I loved working with him and like I really wish I could get like more programs by him which I think I will in the future.
01:48I think you'll have that opportunity to do it. So this is challenge. Now we're getting ready for nationals which you won last year.
01:56So what are you going to do to get ready and do a back to back there as well.
02:00Well my goal is to focus on my performance and like improving it more like making it more dramatic.
02:07and making all my spins level four and get all my levels and make my jumps like maybe a little bigger and like have more distance and get more GOE and I think that's what's next for me.
02:20Well I've already noticed a change in that so are you going to do something to celebrate this?
02:24Properly go out for dinner and that's it.
02:26Do you have a favorite place to go?
02:28I honestly like going to Olive Garden and Keg and the Keg.
02:32That's my favorite place to go.
02:34Well I hope everybody out there is watching and listening and you had a good dinner tonight.
02:37Yeah I really hope so too.
02:39So Leah Cho, congratulations.
02:40Hope to be speaking to you again in Gatineau.
02:43Thank you so much.
