00:29Vergara has been one of the more prominent spokespeople for Diet Pepsi ever since her
00:33print campaign touting the Skinny Can debuted in 2011.
00:37But critics claim that Diet Pepsi digitally altered the actor's bombshell curves in an effort
00:43to equate skinny with beauty.
00:46Vergara denied the accusations, and went on to star in high-profile TV spots for the brand.

00:57Vergara has actually been part of the Pepsi family since way back.
01:01When she was just 17 years old, she appeared in a TV spot after being discovered by talent
01:06scouts.
01:07She told ABC News,
01:08I had never done anything.
01:10I was in Catholic school.
01:11I was afraid because I knew the nuns would not allow me to do that, to be in a bathing
01:16suit on the beach.
01:17But then I got it after the audition.
01:20Vergara tweeted in 2011 that she was officially the newest face of CoverGirl.
01:25Though she would be joining a long list of mega celebrities for the brand, like Taylor Swift
01:30and Ellen DeGeneres, Vergara pointed to her heritage in owning her corner of the market.
01:36She told People Magazine,
01:37I love that I have the Latin flavor.

01:45But Vergara didn't just talk the beauty talk.
01:48Whether she was hitting the red carpet or walking down the aisle at her own wedding,
01:52she's been exclusively rocking CoverGirl ever since becoming a brand ambassador.
01:57According to Yahoo Life, Vergara sported a custom berry red lipstick called Sofia in Love,
02:02and she got hitched to actor Joe Manganiello.

02:09In 2013, Vergara began representing a product that hit much closer to home than most.
02:15After she was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 2000 at just 28 years old, Vergara had an
02:21operation to remove her thyroid gland, leaving her with a hormone deficiency and in turn,
02:27a prescription for a medication called Synthroid.
02:30She told HuffPost,
02:31I got rid of the cancer, and then for me it was,
02:34Oh shoot, now I have to live with this condition my whole life.
02:38I'm very, very straight with the way I try to do what the doctor says, and I go to my
02:42doctor religiously and get my blood tests.
02:44The good thing was that, you know, I decided to educate myself on it.
02:49Synthroid hoped Vergara's dedication to her health would inspire others to follow suit.
02:54Launching the campaign Follow the Script to raise awareness about hypothyroidism and its
02:59symptoms and treatment options.
03:02In 2013, E! News revealed Vergara had been tapped as spokesperson for Head & Shoulders.
03:08While a drugstore anti-dandruff shampoo may not be the first product you'd think you would
03:12find in a rich and glamorous celebrity shower, Vergara swears she has been using the product
03:18for over 20 years.
03:22Since joining the Head & Shoulders family, Vergara has been busy churning out TV spot after TV
03:31spot for the haircare line, alongside her actual relatives, including her son, Manolo Vergara.
03:38The actress said in a statement,
03:39Head & Shoulders has been a part of my haircare regime and my family's since I was young.
03:45In fact, we joked that eight out of nine Vergara's use it, and there are a lot of us.
03:51Suffice to say, as far as Vergara is concerned, Head & Shoulders is head and shoulders above
03:57the rest.

04:02Well, you have your pick of aromas, considering that the actor has created five fragrances under
04:08her name since 2014 — Sofia by Sofia Vergara, Love, Tempting, Tempting Paradise, and Lost
04:16in Paradise.
04:17But she wasn't just sitting back and letting her marketing team do all the work.
04:21Both Vergara and her business partner, Louise Balaguer, emphasized the modern family star's
04:27insistence on leaving her personal imprint on each scent.
04:31Sofia Vergara explained in a press release during her first launch,
04:34"...I wanted to bring a little bit of who I am, my ethnicity, and create a fragrance
04:39that is a true reflection of me."
04:41Balaguer added,
04:42"...Sofia wanted to be very involved in the development of the fragrance, and we knew
04:46it was critical to carefully choose the right partners, as well as the distribution channels."
04:51"...I wear them like crazy, because that's how I know that the men or the women liked it."
04:58As with most products she co-develops or endorses, perfume has always been a personal indulgence
05:04for Vergara.
05:05She revealed to InStyle,
05:06"...I love to try new scents.
05:08What I would wear in the day may differ from what I wear at night.
05:12Fragrance and beauty is something I'm really passionate about, so you will definitely see
05:16more of my footprint in that world."
05:18As she gained her footing in the entrepreneurial world, Vergara ventured into more collaborations
05:24with brands versus simple celebrity endorsements.
05:27In 2014, People reported that she partnered with Kay Jewelers to launch a 52-piece fine jewelry
05:33collection called Sew Sofia.
05:36Retailing anywhere from roughly $50 to $1,300, Vergara found the endeavor to be a natural expansion
05:44of her personal brand.
05:45She told Bustle in 2015,
05:47"...Ever since I was a girl, I've worn and loved jewelry.
05:51It was an easy decision because it is something I have always dreamed of doing.
05:55I never even go to sleep without jewelry on."

06:06According to Her Line's official press release, Sew Sofia featured everything from rings and earrings
06:12to necklaces and bracelets, and much of the collection was set with diamonds and semi-precious
06:17stones and gemstones.
06:19Most distinctively, each piece had a hidden natural emerald, the gemstone of Vergara's
06:24native country, Colombia.
06:27In 2015, Vergara stepped full force into the Java business.
06:32In a partnership with housewares innovator Shark Ninja, Vergara helped develop a cutting-edge
06:37coffee machine, the Ninja Coffee Bar Brewer.
06:40This appliance has the ability to brew equally well-balanced iced and hot coffees through
06:45its, quote, revolutionary thermal flavor extraction technology.
06:50According to a press release, in keeping the richness of flavor often lost during the
06:54melting of ice, the brewer allows users to experience coffeehouse-quality iced drinks
06:59from their own kitchen countertops.
07:02Vergara mused in a statement,
07:03"...I never even thought it was possible to make a great iced coffee at home."
07:08The actress was delighted to be included in the developmental stage of this new product
07:12collaboration, while her business partner Balaguer called it the, quote, perfect partner
07:17for the Sofia Vergara lifestyle brand.
07:21Vergara noted,
07:22When the Shark Ninja told me about their plans to create the Ninja Coffee Bar, I knew I had
07:27to get involved from both a personal and business perspective.
07:30This is the best coffee I have ever made on my own, and the best coffee machine I have
07:35ever used.
07:36I grew up with some people and I created my own machine so that I can have my own coffee
07:40the way I wanted.
07:42In 2016, Vergara was so widely known as a spokesperson that a misguided beauty company Venus Concept
07:49even used her likeness without her consent.
07:52And as ABC News reported, the misstep resulted in a whopping $15 million lawsuit.
07:59According to court records obtained by the outlet, Vergara chose that amount because it's
08:04the fee the star can charge to endorse a product.
08:07The whole mess started when Venus Concept gave Vergara a signature legacy skin tightening
08:12massage treatment, and Vergara posted a snapshot of the procedure to Instagram.
08:17But according to the lawsuit, Vergara wasn't exactly ready to shout about the product from
08:22the rooftops.
08:23According to court records via People magazine, Vergara tried the legacy treatment, but ultimately
08:29did not like it, finding that it was a waste of time and money with little in the way of
08:33any results.
08:35Despite alleged attempts from Vergara's camp to ask the company to stop using her likeness
08:40on promotional materials for the massage, the company went forward with their plans.
08:45But in 2017, Entity magazine reported that Vergara had, in fact, reached a settlement with
08:51the company, the details of which remained confidential.
08:55In 2017, Vergara furthered her empire to include a bit of philanthropy, launching a subscription-based
09:01underwear line, EBBY, by Sofia Vergara.
09:04With the letters of the name standing for Empowered By You.
09:07The concept is straightforward.
09:0910% of sales from subscriptions will go toward the Seven Bar Foundation, which helps economically
09:15disadvantaged women launch their very own businesses.
09:18Vergara told W Magazine,
09:19My partner, Renata Black, gave me the idea, as she came to me with the underwear business.
09:24Then she told me about the Seven Bar Foundation.
09:26I thought it was amazing because we were going to have a business and we're going to help women
09:32with their businesses.
09:33The brand is inclusive, offering a wide range of sizes as well as a multitude of styles, including
09:39everything from thongs to boy shorts.
09:42The actor noted,
09:43It doesn't roll up or do weird things like give you a muffin top.
09:46And they're super comfortable.
09:48Seamless abyss will be your second skin.
09:51Everybody's gonna think that you're wearing no underwear.
09:55In 2019, after crushing the fragrance, jewelry, and underwear markets, Vergara made the leap
10:00to apparel with a Walmart-exclusive denim line called Sofia Jeans.
10:05She shared an Instagram post celebrating the 100-item collection, which includes jeans, jackets,
10:12and graphic tees, in sizes and prices for everybody.
10:16Vergara told People,
10:17We created this thinking of women everywhere of every size, ethnicity, age.
10:22For the first photo shoot, we used women in my family.
10:25None of them are models or supermodels.
10:27I thought I was very scared of jeans that were not tight, and now I realize that they're
10:32really fun.
10:34The collection's affordability was also a matter close to home for Vergara.
10:38When she first moved to Hollywood, Walmart was what she could afford.
10:42She said,
10:43I would buy all of my son's clothes at Walmart, and the school supplies, kitchen supplies,
10:48everything.
10:49Looks like Vergara is certainly one star who is happy to pay it forward in every way she
10:54can.
