David Beckham on Thursday was banned for driving for six months in England after he was caught using a cell phone while behind the wheel last year, according to the BBC.

00:14of his Bentley last year. According to the outlet, the infraction added six points to
00:19Beckham's driver's license, which already had six points racked up for other speeding offenses.
00:24Back in November, the 43-year-old was accused of looking down at his phone at knee level
00:29while traffic was moving slowly. And while a judge acknowledged the slow pace of the traffic,
00:34Beckham was still told there was no excuse for his actions under the law.
00:38The former Manchester United and England footballer was also fined $976.51
00:45and ordered to pay $130.20 in prosecution costs and a $97.65 surcharge fee within seven days.
