00:00If there's one person that both Prince William and Kate Middleton don't want to talk about,

00:05it's Rose Hanbury. Back in 2019, there was some speculation that the Duke of Cambridge

00:11was possibly getting up close and personal with Hanbury, who at the time was being described as

00:17her, quote, rural rival from their hometown of Norfolk. According to the Daily Mail,

00:22Hanbury was reportedly considered to be a part of Kate's social circle, but according to the Mail,

00:27she was phased out of the group after a massive falling out.

00:31Royal Protocol dictates that members of the royal family not comment on disparaging rumors,

00:36but that doesn't mean the word doesn't get around within the family. One insider close to the

00:41situation told Hollywood Life that while the Cambridges try to ignore all of the noise that

00:46is written and gossiped about them, this one has really rocked them. The rumor is ugly and so false,

00:53they couldn't just ignore it. William and Kate have not been photographed near Hanbury since the

00:58cheating rumor reared its ugly head, although she was at a state dinner when the royal family hosted

01:03former President Donald Trump back in 2019. Well, now it looks like William's latest appearance has

01:09everyone talking about the alleged affair again, and for the most awkward reason, too. While everyone

01:15is talking about how Queen Elizabeth was absent for the opening of Parliament because of mobility issues,

01:20it was hard not to notice that another certain person was there — Rose Hanbury's husband,

01:26David Chumley. As a matter of fact, there are several photos from the event that show the Duke

01:31of Cambridge actually walking behind Chumley before everyone took their seats. A lot of royal fans and

01:37critics alike also couldn't help but notice William's facial expressions in the photos, which seemed

01:42decidedly downcast. This prompted several comments. One person tweeted,

01:47"...y'all think Prince William was mad about being forced to walk behind Rose Hanbury's husband?"

01:52Another chided,

01:54"...William has the Windsor Mean Face going on!"

01:57It remains unclear what William was upset about, if he was even upset at all,

02:01but that hasn't stopped the rumor mill from churning out gossip about the presumptive future king.

02:06Following the resurgence of rumors regarding Prince William's alleged affair with Rose Hanbury,

02:11many might be wondering whether or not history is doomed to repeat itself.

02:16William's father, Prince Charles, is notoriously no stranger to infidelity,

02:20being embroiled in a high-profile affair with Camilla Parker Bowles during his marriage to Princess

02:25Diana. It's entirely possible — and according to some, likely — that the rumors about the father of

02:31three being unfaithful to his wife are simply rumors. Royal watchers have pointed out that despite

02:37all of the noise, there has never been concrete evidence about an affair on William's part — with

02:42Hanbury or anybody else. Considering the very confirmed extramarital affairs that occurred during

02:48his parents' marriage, it would strike many as surprising if William was engaging in similar behavior.

02:54One person who would perhaps be the most disappointed is his late mother. In her landmark

02:59Panorama interview, Princess Diana related how she handled the topic of infidelity in her marriage

03:05with her children. Shortly after Prince Charles' public admission about the affair, Diana said,

03:10She sat William down and had a poignant conversation about what his father had done.

03:15Her words are thought to have made a big impression on the young heir to the throne.

03:19"'If you find someone you love in life, you must hang on to it and look after it.

03:23If you were lucky enough to find someone who loved you, then we must protect it."
