00:00I am here with Skate Canada Challenge Senior Pairs Champions Miyu Yanoki and Tristan Taylor
00:13from Saskatchewan. Congratulations. Thank you so much. So let's start. Tell me about your free
00:19program today and actually the whole competition. How did you feel? We felt really good coming into
00:23this competition. We've had some injuries this last year and switching from Japan back to Canada but it
00:31was a lot of fun to come out here back in Canada and put two really good programs out. Okay let's
00:37talk a little bit about that. I know you had something to say. Do you want to jump in? This is our first time
00:45getting a gold medal and we did almost cream program and many people. It's so nice and I'm so happy to be here.
00:58And you should be. That's a huge accomplishment for a relatively new pair. You've only been skating a couple of years.
01:05You competed for a year in Japan. I heard about how you got together in Colorado Springs.
01:09What's the difference between your competitive season last year and this year that you feel?
01:14This year we definitely have you know just getting a full season behind us and being able to have a
01:22full offseason. Last year we started competing within three months of being together so having
01:28a full offseason to work out everything has been really huge for us. What do you think about this season?
01:33We switched in Canada this year so I have no idea about Skate Canada everything so this is like adventure for me so I'm so excited.
01:52Well it's going to get to be a bigger adventure too so as you move on now for the national championships a much bigger field or many more competitors there.
02:02What are you going to do for preparation for that event?
02:06Yeah we're just going to continue our training. We have more technical difficulty we want to put into both programs.
02:12So that's something we're going to be working on putting into our run throughs and everything and then just making sure everything is as good as it can be.
02:22Did you have goals going into this year or what would have defined the season as a successful season for you?
02:32For us it was a lot of trying to build on last year and add all of the new difficult elements that we've put in and developed over the offseason.
02:42So being able to slowly put all that together has been a good success for us.
02:47Oh that's good. And is there anything special you want to learn or do in Canada? What's that?
02:54I want to eat poutine. Poutine. Well I'm telling you you're going to a great place in Datano to have poutine so I hope you will enjoy it.
03:08Thank you. Well good luck for the training leading up to the national championships and congratulations.
03:14Thank you so much.
