Après une carrière de top-model et d’icône de la mode, Lee Miller se transforme en photographe de guerre intrépide pendant la Seconde Guerre Mondiale. Elle met en image les atrocités de la guerre pour le magazine "Vogue", aussi bien les soldats présents sur la ligne de front que l’horreur des camps de concentration. Elle montre non seulement la cruauté de la guerre, mais aussi la résilience des victimes. Elle en paiera le prix fort lorsqu’elle sera confrontée avec un traumatisme de son propre passé.
