00:00Congratulations, you are joining this cast in a mystery role.
00:05What can you tease about this character, if at all?
00:08Oh, nothing. I can tease absolutely nothing.
00:11I'll just say it's a really fun reveal for fans when you do see who I'm playing.
00:17We've been very tight-lipped about this since the day I got cast,
00:22and we're not going to spoil it now, but it's good. It's good.
00:26I promise you, it's going to be worth the wait.
00:28Is there anything you can tell us about, did James approach you?
00:31Was it a very grueling process?
00:33I've known James for over 20 years.
00:35We worked together on a movie he produced called Brightburn,
00:38which was sort of the Superman, if Superman were a villain, horror version of that story.
00:44That's where I met Jen and Steve Agee.
00:48I worked with Freddie about 10 years ago on a movie called 13 Hours.
00:53Coming onto set was very familiar.
00:56There was a lot of people I already knew, and I was really big fans of the first season.
01:00And yeah, James called me and asked me if I would be up for this,
01:03and sort of gave me the rundown of what it would entail.
01:07And I realized I was going to have to get back in the gym and work out,
01:12and that was a little daunting, but I did it.
01:15And yeah, you know, I had a great time.
01:20It's tough, it's tough telling everybody about the show without telling anybody about what you do,
01:26but it's a really fun reveal.
01:28Well, how much intel did James give you ahead of time about this character,
01:32and maybe the character's arc, versus how much was it a mystery for you as well to a certain degree?
01:38Oh, I mean, he sent me all the scripts, so I knew what I was getting into from the jump,
01:45and we did have a conversation about it.
01:47You know, when you're playing a character, you've got to fill in the backstory,
01:51all the stuff that's not on the page, so we would have those conversations,
01:54and we would make sure that, you know, I was on the same page.
01:58We got to know what this guy was, what this world was, and yeah, that was our jumping off point.
02:04And then we get on set, and we mix it up, yeah.
02:08How do you think this season is going to set things up for James' overall vision for the future of the DCU?
02:14Perfectly.
02:16I can't give it away, I can't give it away.
02:19I'm just saying, it's all a big puzzle piece that he's putting together,
02:23and it will all reveal itself as the season goes on, and then everyone will,
02:28well, I think of a better understanding of what his arc and plan is for this universe.
02:32It's a great thing, though.
02:34Well, I love how much chemistry you guys all have as a cast.
02:37Like, I feel like the energy is so great.
02:39Especially John, just here in the suit, really just, like, embracing this character.
02:43It takes that thing off. I think he lives in it now.
02:45I mean, if I could wear a suit like that, I'd live in it. Why not?
02:49How would you describe the chemistry joining this cast and having someone like John as a scene partner?
02:55John is, I mean, I say he's better than advertised. He is such a gentleman, such a pro, such a great scene partner.
03:07So giving and willing to be vulnerable and improv and, you know, and be funny and roll with everything.
03:14I mean, I wish all my scene partners were John Cena. Honestly, he's really terrific.
03:19And everybody else in the cast that I got to interact with and work with, they were great.
03:26It was a great run. I mean, you know, James always talks about that, you know,
03:31the third step of writing a script is getting on set and filming it, and we improv lines.
03:35He improvs with us. He yells out ad-libs. You know, he's on a microphone with the speaker.
03:40And so you just, as a company, you've got to be willing to roll with that.
03:43But he also creates a safety net to allow you to fail.
03:46Because if it doesn't work, we just don't use it, you know?
03:48So if you go for it, you can sometimes find gold.
03:51And, you know, I just love that process of working, and James is, you know, the best at it.
03:56Sure. Finally, I know John said that he would love to see a Peacemaker, a Batman crossover.
04:01What crossover would you love to see?
04:04Oh, I mean, I would love to see... God.
04:08I mean, I would love to... I can't wait to see the Green Lantern series.
04:12I think that's going to be incredible.
04:14And a completely different style and tone.
04:17It would be fun to see those worlds, you know, collide.
04:21So that might be kind of interesting. I don't know how that would happen, but who knows?
04:25We'll make it happen. With James Gunn's mind, anything can happen.
04:28Anything is possible in the DCU.
04:34Okay.
04:35We've tried so many times.
04:36And it was very so wonderful.
04:38We're not 360...
04:40And I can do that now.
04:42...
04:44And we also have to watch the Blue Lantern.
04:46That's what we think.
04:47We'll see on a very high-speed.
04:48We'll see if we go through the questions.
04:49And we can see how the Blue Lantern series will be...
04:50We'll see if we go through the New Lantern.
04:52We'll see if we can.
04:53We'll see a couple again in the Q&A.
