00:04With stock markets battered by the coronavirus and shares of entertainment giants like Disney hit hard,

00:10some on Wall Street have started wondering if cash-rich technology powerhouses like Apple

00:14could consider takeover offers for Hollywood companies.

00:17For example, one analyst suggested that Apple, led by CEO Tim Cook,

00:22could consider acquiring the Walt Disney Company, led by executive chairman Bob Iger and new CEO Bob Chapek,

00:28after its stock dropped below the $100 mark last week.

00:32The analyst wrote in a Friday research report,

00:34the upside from acquiring Disney would be securing their content-slash-streaming strategy

00:38and potential synergies from adding the emerging Disney ecosystem to the iOS platform.

00:44Apple didn't respond to a request for comment.

00:47The analyst also highlighted that over the last three weeks,

00:49Disney has lost about $85 billion, or roughly one-third of its market cap.

00:53Plus, he argued that streaming service Disney Plus could help boost Apple's TV Plus streaming service.

00:59Apple's stock on Friday jumped 12% to $277.97 amid a market rebound,

01:05while Disney shares rose 11.7% to $102.52.
