00:00Keira Knightley has revealed that she will not shoot nude scenes for films with male directors.
00:05When the topic of nudity in films came up during an appearance on the Chanel Connects podcast,
00:09the actress explained that while she doesn't have an absolute ban on filming nude scenes,
00:14she kind of does with men, noting,
00:18While Knightley acknowledged the need for nudity in films,
00:21she said she didn't want it to be those horrible sex scenes where you're all greased up and
00:25everybody is grunting. I'm not interested in that. Knightley added, saying that,
00:29there's times where I go, yeah, I completely see where the sex would be really good in this film,
00:33and you basically just need somebody to look hot, so therefore you can use somebody else,
00:38because I'm too vain and the body has had two children now,
00:41and I'd just rather not stand in front of a group of men naked. During the interview,
00:45Knightley also explained that if a particular film was focused on female life experiences,
00:50she would insist on working with a female director. If I was making a story that was about the journey
00:54of motherhood and body acceptance, I feel like I'm sorry, but that would have to be with a female
00:59filmmaker. After becoming a mother in 2015, Knightley added a no nudity clause to her film
01:04contracts. For more on this story, head to THR.com. For The Hollywood Reporter News, I'm Neha Joy.
