00:00I just can't get it right, cause I can't fall
00:30Welcome to day two of the Skate Canada Challenge here in Calgary.
00:46We had an incredible start on the first day, starting with the junior women.
00:52Leah Cho, local from Calgary, is in first place with a comfortable lead,
00:56but right behind her, in second to seventh place, only three-and-a-half points separating the skaters.
01:03These junior women are going to have to bring it today with their free programs
01:06if they're going to want a chance to stand on the podium later tonight.
01:10Now, we're going to award the first medals of the day, or of the event, today for the junior pairs and the senior pairs.
01:18But also, coming up, junior men and the most anticipated senior men's event.
01:23We have the return of Keegan Messing to competitive skating.
01:27We have the return of Wesley Chu, back from injury.
01:31We have Stephen Gogolev and Roman Sadowski not here because they competed on the Grand Prix last week.
01:37All these skaters vying for the one coveted spot on the Olympic team.
01:42So it is a big year.
01:44But keep in mind, besides the Olympics, there's huge opportunities for these young and upcoming skaters,
01:50for naming to the Four Continents team later this season.
01:55And could these be our young Olympians of the future?
01:58We'll have to wait and see, but more exciting competition today.
02:02It is winter here in Calgary, so if you don't make it to the rink,
02:06sit back, relax, and enjoy the skating.
09:04We welcome the following skaters to the ice for a six-minute warm-up.
