00:00Hong Kong ha molto a scoprire,
00:03da tradizionali festivali
00:05a world-class eventi.
00:06In questo episodio,
00:07ci sarò inizio
00:08nelle competizioni nazionali
00:10nazionali,
00:11visitare la Sotheby's
00:13art collection,
00:14e scegliere l'atmosfera
00:16di Fiery Dragon Dance.
00:21At the heart of Asia,
00:23Hong Kong's blend of East
00:24and West makes it unique.
00:26A megacity full of limitless
00:28possibilities including culture,
00:30arts, sports,
00:31and all that connects them.
00:33Hong Kong and its athletes
00:34had long prepared for the national games.
00:37In a historic first,
00:38it co-hosted China's premier
00:40high-level sports competition
00:42alongside Macao and Wandong province.
00:45Over 15,000 athletes from China
00:47competed in more than 400 events
00:49across 34 sports.
00:51Eight competitions unfolded
00:53in Hong Kong's world-class sports venues.
00:56The national game put all Hong Kong's
01:00sporting facilities into very good use
01:03and also put our ability
01:07of organising major sports events
01:11into tests.
01:13And I think we passed the test
01:15with fine colours.
01:17With that success as a foundation,
01:19Hong Kong is gearing up to host
01:21the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities
01:24and the 9th National Special Olympic Games
01:27by late 2025.
01:30From gold medals to galleries,
01:32the Sotheby's Maison Gallery stands
01:35as a top destination for art.
01:37It's right in Central's most prestigious address,
01:40the iconic Landmark Cheetah.
01:43Exquisite and unexpected objects, fine art,
01:46and unforgettable experiences are open to all
01:49at its flagship design space,
01:51a cornerstone of Asia's art scene.
01:54So these are very rare pieces,
01:56that they never come from the market.
01:59And normally, these are pieces
02:01that we see in museums.
02:02It's incredible!
02:03To put the culture in the center of Hong Kong.
02:06And that was really important for us.
02:08There's no way to enter.
02:09There's no door to open.
02:11You can simply come and admire all that.
02:16Strolling among these masterpieces
02:18of Chinese art, many likely bound
02:21for the world's finest museums.
02:23While surrounded by ground-breaking architecture
02:26inspired by Taoist principles,
02:28like stairs that echo the flow of Chinese nature,
02:31is an experience like no other.
02:34I'll show you a Chinese scroll
02:37that dates from the 13th century.
02:39In fact, it's the emperor
02:40who wrote his own events
02:42in relation to Chinese nature.
02:46These are the same curves
02:47that you see here in architecture.
02:50So there is a real conversation,
02:53let's say,
02:54between our house,
02:55the architecture of our house
02:56and the art works that we expose.
03:00But Chinese art and culture
03:01go beyond the gallery,
03:03coming alive in the streets.
03:05The Lantern Festival is celebrated
03:07during the autumn full moon,
03:09lighting up the streets
03:11with crowds, color and fire.
03:13The Taihan Dragon Fire Dance
03:15is a spectacular celebration
03:17of Cantonese heritage.
03:19These volunteers preserve a 146-year-old tradition.
03:24Almond Cheng,
03:25who first began performing the dance
03:27at just 12 years old,
03:29is the troops' leader.
03:30The reason because there was a
03:56Since then the fiery dragon has made its way through the narrow streets of Taihan every year.
04:06Its nearly 70 meter long body is lined with 12,000 incense sticks,
04:12each symbolizing health, wealth and good fortune.
04:15The energy here is electric, the crowd, the music and the aroma of thousands of burning incense sticks.
04:22Hundreds of volunteers from across the globe bring the dragon to life,
04:25Showing remarkable skills and coordination, even the kids take part.
04:44Bringing together hundreds from around the world,
04:47this tradition captures the essence of Hong Kong,
04:50a city where culture and sports shine on a global stage.
04:55To be continued...
