00:04:21hi Christian
00:04:22come in come in
00:04:24Christian Siriano's atelier is beautiful and it's very inspiring
00:04:28He started from Project Runway
00:04:30and achieved all the success in the world.
00:04:33So you have to believe that it's possible
00:04:35and that you'll be there one day.
00:04:38This is it. You made it.
00:04:40Doesn't it feel good?
00:04:41Yeah.
00:04:42Today, you start to work on your collections
00:04:46that you've been working for this entire competition.
00:04:49This is such an amazing opportunity.
00:04:51You get to make whatever you want to make,
00:04:53be who you want to be.
00:04:54Shock, not only the judges, but the whole world is watching.
00:04:58So it's one of those great moments, you know?
00:05:00Yeah.
00:05:01I think you really have to take the judges on a journey.
00:05:04Yeah.
00:05:05And I think that they'll really appreciate that, you know?
00:05:07Yeah.
00:05:08I know.
00:05:09I have a good surprise for you.
00:05:10We're going to give you some help this week.
00:05:12Ugh.
00:05:13Because you need it.
00:05:14Eight looks in eight days is wild.
00:05:16Yeah.
00:05:17We're going to bring back some of your eliminated friends.
00:05:19Whoa.
00:05:21Prajay.
00:05:22Okay.
00:05:23Kara-san.
00:05:24And Fabio.
00:05:25Oh!
00:05:26Fish me.
00:05:27You won the last challenge.
00:05:28You get the advantage of picking first.
00:05:30Of course.
00:05:31I'm going to pick my good, good girlfriend, Prajay.
00:05:33I don't think we're going to fight anyways.
00:05:35I don't think we're going to fight.
00:05:36Fabio.
00:05:37That's what I thought.
00:05:38No-brainer.
00:05:39Kara-san.
00:05:40Kara-san.
00:05:41And we're also going to give you $10,000,
00:05:43and you guys can go anywhere in the fashion district
00:05:45that you want.
00:05:46Yeah, baby!
00:05:47Because the clothes got to be good.
00:05:48Yeah.
00:05:49Listen.
00:05:50Yes.
00:05:51It is big stakes.
00:05:52All stars.
00:05:53You have to impress these judges.
00:05:55Yeah, yeah.
00:05:56This is it.
00:05:57Yes.
00:05:58All right.
00:05:59Bye, Christian.
00:06:11This is the very first type of, like, freedom to shop
00:06:14that works all around the garment district.
00:06:16We have three and a half hours to shop.
00:06:18Elaine really wants me to, like, lean into who I am.
00:06:21So my strategy is to create a collection
00:06:24that embraces this active wear path,
00:06:28but also progressing into active wear as, like, evening wear.
00:06:32And use color.
00:06:34Tell a story of things that just get more and more intense.
00:06:38Anything else or anything?
00:06:39No, that's it.
00:06:40On to the next.
00:06:41I'm one of the most commercial designers in this competition.
00:06:45Oh, yes!
00:06:47To do active wear as high fashion is really risky.
00:06:52But it doesn't mean that I can't give a very inspiring,
00:06:56just absolute killer runway show.
00:06:58Hello.
00:06:59Hello.
00:07:00How are you?
00:07:01How are you?
00:07:02I'm good.
00:07:03My specialty is leather.
00:07:05This is actually nice.
00:07:07There's a couple like that.
00:07:08But I am going to do some things
00:07:11that people don't really expect of me,
00:07:13which is playing with colors.
00:07:15This color is nice.
00:07:16Greens, purples, red.
00:07:19And try different types of fabrics to do, like, a mix.
00:07:22So I have this color, that color.
00:07:25I have black.
00:07:26I always listen to Madame Nina.
00:07:28So I'm really playing with the masculine and feminine,
00:07:31the hard, the soft.
00:07:33Basically, my collection is a marriage of the two.
00:07:35Thank you so much.
00:07:37Yes, baby.
00:07:38That's what I'm looking for.
00:07:39All the good signs today.
00:07:40Fashion is literally my diary,
00:07:43my saving grace, my religion.
00:07:46I really, really love this.
00:07:48The vibe from my collection
00:07:50is inspired by my process of grieving.
00:07:54I want to showcase what I'm feeling
00:07:57and how I'm feeling.
00:07:58She's cute.
00:08:01I ain't balling on the budget this time.
00:08:03I know for sure I'm going to use white, cream,
00:08:07black, and different shades of red.
00:08:10Oh, this is dope.
00:08:11To be able to tell my story with my collection
00:08:14is my way of being able to honor my sister.
00:08:17Okay, guys.
00:08:18It's real.
00:08:19It's realer than real.
00:08:20Hold on.
00:08:21I got it.
00:08:22You are so sweet.
00:08:23Hello.
00:08:24Hello, room.
00:08:25I kind of like this set up right here.
00:08:27In order for me to calm my nerves and just making it feel at home,
00:08:32I put up my sister's obituary.
00:08:34Now she going to be here making the collection with you.
00:08:35My sister told me before she transcended that I got this.
00:08:36I dedicate this all to her.
00:08:37Let's get it, baby.
00:08:38Let's get it, baby.
00:08:39Let's get it, baby.

00:08:43Hello.
00:08:48Here we go.
00:08:52Now she gonna be here making the collection with you.

00:09:17Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:09:19Oh, .
00:09:22What the ?

00:09:29Yeah, cutting number two.
00:09:30Cutting number?
00:09:31You're on number two?
00:09:32Yeah.
00:09:33Damn.
00:09:34Oh, no goals.
00:09:35The time frame that we have to produce this collection is insane.
00:09:39I'm gonna have some flowers here.
00:09:42And this was in your head?
00:09:44I'm just going as I go.
00:09:46Do I know what I'm making yet?
00:09:47No, I do not.
00:09:48Because I don't have any drawings.
00:09:50My collection.
00:09:52It's a little blurry in my mind.
00:09:53I can't believe this is finally done.
00:09:55Oh, my goodness.
00:09:56Oh, man.
00:09:57I'm tired.

00:23:02last day in the work room happy final day where do we start girl start and finish on that uh draping
00:23:12white dress i sew it in on both sides right yeah
00:23:18hi hi i'm mark karamzada the tutorial and communications director of the cfda i'm so thrilled
00:23:23to be here and to meet all of you i'm really here to see your collections and to talk to you about
00:23:29your future your brand wow excited to have you oh my god britney what's your customer look like
00:23:42she's a city girl very independent you know she does her own thing and you're ahead of a lot of
00:23:46designers because you already know exactly who your customer is and you know exactly what your brand
00:23:50looks like which is a great thing i love this denim jacket yeah it was upcycling and that was a one
00:23:57day it's very heavy it's muslin it's very good it's very heavy it's very heavy like this trying to
00:24:04like work in my dna um it kind of did really start like here and here and doing like the undergarment
00:24:11pieces here which must be so difficult with the challenges because it's all different challenges so
00:24:15how do you bring the dna into that challenge what would you see that starting point for me like
00:24:20for the mentorship like where would it be looking down the road and what i see by brand being we'd
00:24:26look to help speak to people who know the business of fashion speak to manufacturers who know how to
00:24:33make the kind of clothes that you want for your collection yeah that would be well thank you so much
00:24:39it was so great to meet you oh no thank you so much thank you whoa what would you say your story
00:24:47is and who you really want to address with your clothes for my story i'll use fashion as my like
00:24:52my diary so i'm always adding hints of myself into the garments and telling like a dramatic avant-garde
00:24:58story with a bit of streetwear i see real range which is really important i think in terms of building
00:25:03your business we're an organization of more than 450 members we have a lot of resources to help a young
00:25:08designer like you gotcha thank you so much hello laurence so if you have to describe your brand how
00:25:16would you describe it my brand is edgy and classy super feminine and masculine mixed together and i do
00:25:25leather so that's what i'm known for so obviously looking here i see the whole breadth of your talent
00:25:30yeah leather is your focus but are you really thinking about other materials how are you looking
00:25:35to expand your collection i want to do everything leather is my love but i want to do everything
00:25:39that's why i try to do a mix of different things that's a very smart thing because when you think
00:25:44about a woman she might really love leather but there's other parts of her life when she doesn't
00:25:49want to wear leather and then she would be the go-to designer she already likes your aesthetic and what
00:25:53you stand for and if you communicate that very clearly who you are and what you stand for
00:25:57you could have that customer for life okay which is a wonderful thing yes thank you so very much
00:26:12hey you guys are you ready for models they're here
00:26:18yes work welcome back do you want to start with the pants with her all right so let's do let's try
00:26:26this on first so this model fitting is exactly what i needed and i just need to fit this spandex
00:26:33tube shape on jasmine to make sure that we're on the right track of just perfecting this look
00:26:38you know okay cool if i put a biker short underneath it that'd be hot it looks beautiful
00:26:44well for me i just want to see what the other one lands
00:26:50i'm gonna take this in a little bit too can't wait to see it
00:26:54it's coming yeah and i think um he's doing something with um with your look too
00:27:10this is probably the most stressed out i've been all season because i'm not where i want to be at
00:27:15i'm not at a proper checkpoint for myself and i'm dealing with grief that adds more pressure on to me
00:27:21that i already have um i'm trying y'all i need to go find your designer because at this way this is as
00:27:32far as i can take you i think i'm done
00:27:35what'd you guys is more than i keep asking him in the hardest way this is exactly what you might have you
00:27:39no getting up here
00:27:40you have my door
00:27:40where is he where do they say he's going
00:27:43where is he where did he say he's going
00:27:49Where is he?
00:27:58Where did he say he's going?
00:28:03What's happening?
00:28:08I'm trying to figure everything out in my mind.
00:28:12Well, we have our motto inside.
00:28:14Come.
00:28:15We don't have the time for the mind to play those tricks or not.
00:28:24I need you inside.
00:28:25I've been handling my grief throughout this competition,
00:28:27but I think what was making me sad is that, um,
00:28:32bro.
00:28:38If I got all the way to winning that, it wouldn't feel good
00:28:42because she's not here.
00:28:44It's been a rollercoaster.
00:28:46Being here, I keep realizing I'm grieving my sister at the same time.
00:28:50There be times when I'm, like, about to literally cry,
00:28:53and I don't even know why.
00:28:54Like, there's a lot that hit me today.
00:28:57I'm just thankful that I have Praje here to keep my head on track.
00:29:01He reminded me that I'm here for a reason
00:29:03and keep that focus on why I'm here.
00:29:06And he literally have a place in my heart forever.
00:29:09Y'all need to get you a Praje in your life
00:29:11because she might seem like she rah, rah, rah,
00:29:15but she really got a heart of gold.
00:29:17Yeah.
00:29:18Yeah.
00:29:19Yeah.
00:29:20Yeah.
00:29:21Yeah.
00:29:22I'm glad I did the fitting because the fit has to be proper.
00:29:34And so far, it's no bueno.
00:29:36It's gonna be the same as the pants, but the bustier is leather.
00:29:41Yeah.
00:29:42Is there a good enough length for you to walk in?
00:29:44Mm-hmm.
00:29:48If we did end up attaching this part of the placket.
00:29:54And the thigh.
00:29:55The center, yeah.
00:29:56So this gown, the dimension is remarkable.
00:30:00The train looks so good, and the styling,
00:30:02how it came together with the ribbing and the hood.
00:30:04And it's just a very couture way to finish my collection.
00:30:09Yeah.
00:30:14I love you.
00:30:15Thank you, Dee Dee.
00:30:17Bye.
00:30:18Bye.
00:30:19What time is it?
00:30:2130 minutes till we gotta pack it up, guys.
00:30:23Hey.
00:30:24I ain't going down without a fight.
00:30:27Let me just do this real quick.
00:30:29Come on.
00:30:34And done.
00:30:35So all you need to do right now is the jacket.
00:30:36Yes.
00:30:37I was like, Laurence needs me here for moral support
00:30:39more than anything.
00:30:42We gonna save the party for later.
00:30:45Hey, guys.
00:30:46We got five minutes until the friends have to leave.
00:30:49Never.
00:30:50I will miss you for helping me.
00:30:52I gave you a gift.
00:30:54Mm.
00:30:55The bitch is tired?
00:30:57Mm.
00:30:58She's muddy.
00:30:59Mm-hmm.
00:31:00Mm-hmm.
00:31:01Mm-hmm.
00:31:02Mm-hmm.
00:31:04I gotta go.
00:31:05Our time is up.
00:31:06See you tomorrow?
00:31:07I mean, I will see you.
00:31:08You probably won't see me.
00:31:09Yes, I will.
00:31:10I'm looking for you like this.
00:31:11I love you so much.
00:31:12I love you, too.
00:31:13Okay.
00:31:15Bye!
00:31:17Thank you so, so much.
00:31:19I love you, too.
00:31:20All right.
00:31:21I'll see you tomorrow.
00:31:22There's literally no way that this collection would look like it does right now without Fabio's help.
00:31:29I owe him a lot.
00:31:32Bye, guys.
00:31:33Bye, guys.
00:31:34Bye, guys.
00:31:35Good luck.
00:31:37Good luck.
00:31:39We're done with this workroom, and it's bittersweet.
00:31:43All right, you guys.
00:31:44Ready to head out?
00:31:45I'm excited for the runway, and I'm also a bit nervous.
00:31:49Later, workroom.
00:31:58What a beautiful city.
00:31:59Wow.
00:32:00So pretty.
00:32:01I just want to say I'm so proud of all of us.
00:32:05Me, too.
00:32:06I'm proud of us, too, man.
00:32:07And, um, this is beautiful, man.
00:32:10Being here, it really prepped you for the fashion industry.
00:32:13Yeah, absolutely.
00:32:14Like, Nina and all of them are, like, the critics and the blogs and the thing.
00:32:17The challenges are, like, certain clients that hire you for things.
00:32:20Absolutely.
00:32:21And then also brought another side out of you that you didn't even realize was there.
00:32:24To be here and to finally be able to showcase something.
00:32:27Like, you want to showcase your best, because we learned a lot since, at least me.
00:32:30Absolutely.
00:32:31I know I learned so much since I've been here.
00:32:33So much.
00:32:34All right.
00:32:35Let's do it.
00:32:36There you go.
00:32:37Oreo sandwich.
00:32:38Oh, it's the best Oreo that's ever been.
00:32:40Baby out, baby.
00:32:41Baby out, come on, let's go.
00:32:42I love y'all so much.
00:32:43Coming up, welcome to the Project Runway finale.
00:32:48Then pull the drawstring.
00:32:49Let me see the back.
00:32:51I'm freaking out.
00:32:52My heart is rainful.
00:32:53I can feel it.
00:32:55Oh, wow.
00:33:09This is amazing.
00:33:10Look at this.
00:33:11Amazing.
00:33:12This was just a dream a few months ago.
00:33:15When I left my season, I didn't win.
00:33:18I placed third.
00:33:19So to be here right now, living it, it's everything.
00:33:23Can we just take a stand before we leave?
00:33:26There is so much on the line.
00:33:28The grand prize, the mentorship, the public relations that I need so badly.
00:33:34There isn't one of these prizes that wouldn't change my life.
00:33:37BBL.
00:33:38BBL.
00:33:39Good luck, y'all.
00:33:40One, two, three.
00:33:43I feel like a madman right now.
00:33:45Hi, everybody.
00:33:46No.
00:33:47Hi.
00:33:48No.
00:33:49Happy show day.
00:33:50All right.
00:33:51The show starts in one hour.
00:33:52No.
00:33:53You need to make sure all your models get through the work, hair with Tresemme, makeup with
00:33:58Bobbi Brown.
00:33:59Hi, y'all.
00:34:00Hi.
00:34:01Hello.
00:34:02So excited for the show.
00:34:05Hi, hi, hi.
00:34:08You guys know what it is, right?
00:34:10Sleep buns.
00:34:11Yeah.
00:34:12So for the makeup, can we just keep it in hair red but glossed?
00:34:16I love and hate this dress backstage.
00:34:18And then pull the drawstring.
00:34:20I can feel it.
00:34:21My heart is racing.
00:34:22I'm freaking out.
00:34:23I'm freaking out.
00:34:24Can you make sure you just keep this arm down?
00:34:33Everybody's getting in look.
00:34:34They are.
00:34:35All right.
00:34:36Is there anyone you could pull that skirt down?
00:34:37Turn her this way.
00:34:38Brittany?
00:34:39Laurence?
00:34:40Yes?
00:34:41Fish me, you're good?
00:34:42As fit as we're going to be.
00:34:43Everybody looks amazing.
00:34:44All right, designers.
00:34:45That's it.
00:34:46That's time.
00:34:47You did it.
00:34:48It's show time.

00:35:21Woo!
00:35:22Woo!
00:35:23Woo!
00:35:26Unfortunately, Brandon Maxwell couldn't be here with us tonight, but we are honored to have two
00:35:31Fabulous guest judges, Emmy, Grammy, and two-time Tony award-winning actor and style icon, the Billy Porter.
00:35:46Oh my God, I'm going to have a heart attack.
00:35:50I love you back!
00:35:53And award-winning fashion designer, a beloved member of the Project Runway family, the one and only Zach Posen.
00:36:01It's going to be a fabulous show, the designers work so hard.
00:36:09Let's do it.
00:36:10Yes!
00:36:11Let's start the show!
00:36:15Tell me about it.
00:36:19I'm getting nervous.
00:36:21I am so nervous, it's already too late.
00:36:25Designer, go.
00:36:31Hi everyone, my name is Brittany Allen.
00:36:40You might remember me from season 18.
00:36:42Hi, Brittany!
00:36:43Hi!
00:36:45Familiar faces.
00:36:47So my collection is called Pop Greshin, and essentially the story of the collection is just a progression of color, print, and what I do best,
00:36:57which is active wear and ready-to-wear married together.
00:37:01So I hope you love it as much as I loved making it.
00:37:03Special shout-out to my babe, who made it this special trek from Texas,
00:37:08and to Fabio, my best friend, who I could not have made this collection without.
00:37:13So, thank you guys so much.
00:37:15I am so thankful that this is the tone we are starting with, because it is everything.
00:37:40My collection, it has me written all over it.
00:37:46It's DNA, identity, everything that the judges wanted to see from me.
00:37:53Me pushing silhouettes and ideas that were my own in this very identifiable way.
00:38:01You can't look at this collection and not know exactly who it came from.
00:38:05Oh, my God, it looks so good.
00:38:13This is the story of this build-up and progression of my growth and my aesthetic as a whole.
00:38:21It shows me and what I do, and it's just a small nod to the active wear,
00:38:33but it's elevating this progression story.
00:38:38It's a little conceptual, but you could wear these pieces at any time with anything.
00:38:43So, Jessica Z is killing these pants.
00:39:10The pants are getting so much movement with her walk.
00:39:13You see the dimension.
00:39:16Wow.
00:39:17And I love this look so much.
00:39:27So, this gown wrapping up this runway show,
00:39:31it could not have been showcased better.
00:39:33Okay, baby!
00:39:45Oh, my God!
00:39:48Fabulous.
00:39:49It is active wear Eleganza, and I am dead.
00:39:54The, like, athletic dress with the couture.
00:40:01Yeah, literally.
00:40:02I like it.
00:40:03You leave the gym and you can still look good.
00:40:05From gym to night.
00:40:06Exactly.
00:40:07Exactly.
00:40:08Honestly, this collection is beyond what I could have ever imagined.
00:40:13I have exceeded all expectations I had for myself
00:40:16and really put genuinely everything I have
00:40:18into this eight-look collection for the finale.
00:40:21We are ready when you're on.
00:40:41Standing by.
00:40:43Okay.
00:40:44Go.
00:40:44Hello, everybody.
00:40:57My name is Vishri Cromartie,
00:40:59and this show...
00:41:00Hi, y'all!
00:41:01Oh, my goodness!
00:41:02And my collection is about powering through.
00:41:05So, that's my message to everyone here.
00:41:07Just power through.
00:41:09Hope you love it.
00:41:09It's a pinch-me moment for me,
00:41:39because to actually be here at the finale
00:41:42is mind-blowing.
00:41:45It showcases so many different personalities
00:41:49that I have within me
00:41:50and so many different techniques that I have.
00:41:54To see the evolution of this collection
00:42:12is just amazing to me,
00:42:15because I allowed all of the darkness
00:42:18and all of the things I've experienced in my past
00:42:21to help me get to this moment.
00:42:41And to be able to have this moment
00:42:44that I've been dreaming for
00:42:46since I first watched this show as a teenager,
00:42:50just breathtaking.
00:42:51Thank you, folks, and for watching...
00:43:09Take care.
00:43:10Take care.
00:43:12Bye-bye.
00:43:13Will you notice in the end?
00:43:14This relationship is absolutely real.
00:43:15I want to have plenty ofट.
00:43:16But be able to work,
00:43:17a day ago,
00:43:18and an absolute Franc würde,
00:43:19but I'll be like you to parents
00:43:20The finale dress, what happens to be the anxiety gown, is everything plus more.
00:43:50I've always told myself I will close my collection out with the most massive gown ever.
00:44:00I'm just thankful that I was able to see this and truly be pleased with everything that I created.
00:44:15Incredible in such a short period of time.
00:44:18He's smart with his construction materials.
00:44:21I gotta literally step back and be proud of myself because I don't know if anyone would have been able to handle what I handled literally days before the runway show.
00:44:34He's blowing me away.
00:44:35Well, if anyone can follow him, it's Laurent.
00:44:38Alright girls, kill it.
00:44:40Two, one, Laurent go.
00:44:48Hi baby.
00:44:49I just want to say hello to Marley.
00:44:50I miss you.
00:44:51I love you.
00:44:52Mwah.
00:44:53My name is Laurence Bass.
00:44:54So my fashion is always inspired by where I'm from.
00:44:55So I wanted to make a collection about Paris because every time we talk about this city, we always see the beautiful side of it.
00:45:08And I wanted to bring the dark side of Paris and the beautiful mix together.
00:45:15So you guys enjoy.
00:45:16And a please.
00:45:17Love you guys.
00:45:18Love you guys.
00:45:19Love you.
00:45:20Love you.
00:45:21Love you.
00:45:22Love you.
00:45:23This collection is me.
00:45:25Thank you guys, miss you!
00:45:43This collection is me.
00:45:46It's a piece of me that I'm giving you.
00:45:49If you understand my collection, you'll get to understand a little bit of who I am.
00:45:55I feel like people are still thinking of leather like there's only one or two things you can do with it,
00:46:19but leather has evolved so much that you can literally do anything with it.
00:46:24That's what I want to do. I want to take leather to a whole new level.
00:46:34I came here saying I was the next project runway winner, so I really believe in my heart that I could win this whole thing.
00:46:43Watching my creations go down the runway, there's a whole bunch of emotions and it's a moment, you know what I mean?
00:46:53But overall, it's great.
00:46:54But overall, it's great.
00:47:34When the finale look comes down the runway, it is giving, giving, giving.
00:47:41I love the model.
00:47:43I love the look.
00:47:44I love the red.
00:47:45It was pretty clear from the beginning that she was going to close the show.
00:47:54I love the look.
00:47:58I love the look.
00:48:03She's been bad, really.
00:48:05I mean, of all the three designers,
00:48:10every material she used has nothing forgiving.
00:48:12I mean, she's working with leather.
00:48:14I'm amazing.
00:48:15This whole experience of Project Runway,
00:48:17you always learn something when you come here
00:48:19about yourself, about life,
00:48:21things that you don't even know you're capable of doing.
00:48:24So I'm super proud of me for making it this far.
00:48:34Oh, my God, we did it. Oh, my God, we did it.
00:48:36It was 100% evidence that these designers were all-stars.
00:48:41For the girls! For the girls!
00:48:45I especially enjoyed Britney's show
00:48:47because she didn't go over-the-top couture.
00:48:50She went, designed real clothes and real sportive
00:48:53and much more casual.
00:48:55Oh, my mommy!
00:48:57Oh, my mom!
00:48:59You did good.
00:49:01That one with this whole one?
00:49:03Mm-hmm. She did her thing.
00:49:05Yeah, she did.
00:49:06If I were picking a winner, I'd be going with Bishni.
00:49:09I loved that collection.
00:49:11I mean, it just felt very organic.
00:49:13It felt street.
00:49:14Like, it just looked cohesive.
00:49:15I loved it.
00:49:16I haven't seen my baby in over too long.
00:49:19It's been a while.
00:49:21Yeah.
00:49:22Mm-hmm.
00:49:23You know, I have to say, I think it's Laurence's game
00:49:25to take the whole thing.
00:49:26I thought her collection was the most cohesive
00:49:29out of everybody's.
00:49:31Every look was better than the next.
00:49:33Thank you, guys.
00:49:34You killed it.
00:49:35All of you did an amazing job.
00:49:38Yeah!
00:49:40I think this is going to be one of the hardest decisions
00:49:43in the history of Project Runway.
00:49:45There's only going to be one winner.
00:49:47Now we wait.
00:49:48Final three all-stars.
00:50:00We are so incredibly proud of you.
00:50:02So impressed by what you were able to achieve in just eight days.
00:50:08It was incredible.
00:50:10Really lovely.
00:50:11And of course, can we give it up for our guest judges today?
00:50:14Yes.
00:50:15Yes.
00:50:16Dad Poe and Billy Porter.
00:50:17Yes.
00:50:18Yes.
00:50:19We just casually have two icons with us today.
00:50:20So.
00:50:21It's overwhelming.
00:50:22The three of you delivered three incredible different shows
00:50:29that relied on your unique point of view.
00:50:34I am always so moved by fashion.
00:50:39And I am so, so happy to be here.
00:50:44Laurence.
00:50:45Hi.
00:50:46So nice to see you.
00:50:47Nice to see you again.
00:50:48A reunion.
00:50:49My pleasure.
00:50:50I think you're so talented.
00:50:51Five years on the show, the best tailor I've seen.
00:50:55You all delivered a unique vision and you brought the drama.
00:51:01I'm blown away and very happy to be here.
00:51:04Thanks.
00:51:05Let's start with you, Brittany.
00:51:06Okay.
00:51:07Let's do it.
00:51:08Tell us about the collection and your inspiration.
00:51:10I wanted to show the progression of introducing color and introducing prints
00:51:15and then combining colors that you wouldn't think that you would ever, you know, put together.
00:51:19Yes, it was eight looks, but it was 21 pieces.
00:51:22All interchangeable.
00:51:23Everything could have been swapped.
00:51:24This top with this skirt, with this jacket, with this bottom.
00:51:26It's really fun to make.
00:51:28You stood out, but you stood out in a good way.
00:51:31You found a way to put an evening gown in the context of your activewear world that you're building.
00:51:38It's magical what you've been able to do to elevate the activewear slash athleisure space.
00:51:46The culotte, the bra, like I see it already.
00:51:49It's stunning.
00:51:50Wow.
00:51:51What an honor.
00:51:53I think the really interesting parts of your collection were the pieces where you took the inspiration of activewear, but did it in a more high fashion kind of luxury technique way.
00:52:05It kind of took it to a whole new place.
00:52:07My only criticism is off of the runway, it could go a little costume.
00:52:13Your styling was phenomenal.
00:52:17You gave every girl that ponytail, the hoops, and the same boots.
00:52:22So everything felt very cohesive.
00:52:25But what most impressed me was the pant version of this.
00:52:29And turning this pattern into a 3D perspective made me think, wow, you could do things on a bigger scale.
00:52:37Wow.
00:52:38That's, my heart is full.
00:52:39I mean, so much.
00:52:41Thank you so much, Brittany.
00:52:43Ishmi, tell us all about your collection.
00:52:47Tell us about your inspiration.
00:52:48We want to know everything.
00:52:50I wanted to showcase the good side of things, the not so good side when it gets a little rocky.
00:52:56And then when you overpower the darkness and the things that kind of like build you to be the stronger version of yourself.
00:53:02The first opening look showcased the innocence.
00:53:05Innocence?
00:53:06Kind of like in the innocence, my version of innocence.
00:53:08She's a vixen.
00:53:11And the red represent rage and the black just represent darkness.
00:53:15This dress actually represents anxiety that you overpower to kind of like turn it into something positive.
00:53:21I really love that this is called the anxiety gown because it doesn't feel like the anxiety is oppressive.
00:53:31It feels like you're moving through it.
00:53:35You got to that place where evening wear can become art.
00:53:39So you did something very special and very moving for me today.
00:53:43Bishmi, it was cohesive.
00:53:46It was inspiring.
00:53:47It was sophisticated.
00:53:49And most importantly, it was well edited.
00:53:52The juxtaposition of that kind of urban influence with the elegance of your work was genius.
00:53:59Thank you, Bishmi.
00:54:01Bishmi, you always surprise me.
00:54:04And as an editor, I can see these on the pages of our magazine, on celebrities.
00:54:10Your clothes just have that fashion with a capital F.
00:54:14You have a gift and I want you to feel confident about it.
00:54:18Thank you, Nina.
00:54:19That means a lot.
00:54:20The only look that I didn't think you needed was probably the latex gown.
00:54:27Gotcha.
00:54:28Because we've kind of moved away from the sleeves, which used to be your signature.
00:54:33And I think that you are a designer that has so many ideas.
00:54:36You don't really have to stick to one.
00:54:39Thank you so much, Bishmi.
00:54:41All right, Laurence.
00:54:42My inspiration was Paris.
00:54:45I'm an African girl.
00:54:46I was born in Normandy.
00:54:47So I wanted to bring both sides together and create my story.
00:54:53That's why I had so much hardware, leather, lace, and organza.
00:54:57Which is like two worlds that usually don't really meet.
00:55:01Mm-hmm.
00:55:02I love coming to Project Runway because I get to shop.
00:55:05I want that.
00:55:06Mm-hmm.
00:55:07I just love this so much.
00:55:09I would love it with a flared pants.
00:55:12Okay.
00:55:13You could do that.
00:55:14We're going to exchange numbers.
00:55:15No problem.
00:55:16I got you.
00:55:17Because I need that.
00:55:19Laurence, you deliver garments that are so precise and well made.
00:55:27I love that pull and push of the romantic with the hard, that very sculptural jacket and the shine.
00:55:35These are things that could look terrible together, but will never do under your supervision.
00:55:42You're a tough candidate to beat.
00:55:46You exude an elegance and a sophistication, and I can see evolution in your work, but it's still signature.
00:55:55The one look that I kind of had trouble with, the purple thing.
00:55:59Yeah.
00:56:00Where'd that come from?
00:56:01That wasn't the direction I was going with the suit, but I had to change the shape and it was supposed to be something else.
00:56:07Trust your gut is if you have that instinct, I think pull it.
00:56:11Okay.
00:56:12I love the duality of your inspiration, but mostly I was excited to see a new side of you.
00:56:19You were able to incorporate this joy, this fluidity, this poetry, this romance that we haven't associated with your work before.
00:56:30And you turned up the volume.
00:56:32In the history of Project Runway, I think you make clothes that look more expensive than anything this show has ever seen.
00:56:39Okay, designers, this is going to be an extremely painful, difficult decision to make tonight.
00:56:48Whoa.
00:56:49But it's time for us to decide the winner.
00:56:52Thank you, guys.
00:56:53Thanks.
00:56:55An honor.
00:56:56No problem.
00:56:57So we have three designers here who are worthy of winning the prize.
00:57:12And unfortunately, only one can win.
00:57:15Who do you see as the future of fashion, right?
00:57:19I feel like there is a case to be made for each and every one of these designers.
00:57:23Absolutely.
00:57:24They just are so incredibly different.
00:57:26For instance, with Brittany, she's in a class of her own because she's designing for activewear.
00:57:31And so it's challenging to even have Brittany in the same sentence as Laurence or Brishmi.
00:57:36With Brittany, she got an eight out of eight.
00:57:39You gave Brittany an eight out of eight?
00:57:41I was impressed with all of it.
00:57:43Honestly, I believe that she is capable of much more than just activewear.
00:57:48For sure.
00:57:49But also there's nothing wrong with just having that niche.
00:57:52Absolutely.
00:57:53Repetition is reputation.
00:57:54Work it out.
00:57:55That's really good.
00:57:56Yeah, I like that.
00:57:57That pant that she did, she took the fabric and she turned it into that 3D.
00:58:04Little texture.
00:58:05Yes.
00:58:06That was fantastic.
00:58:07She's mixing colors and textures that are not that easy to mix.
00:58:09At all.
00:58:10At all.
00:58:11That category is so important right now.
00:58:14Right.
00:58:15That activewear, right?
00:58:16My question is, what is the longevity of that?
00:58:19Right.
00:58:20Fashion is always changing.
00:58:22So who has that longevity or who is looking forward to fashion?
00:58:27Vishmi for me had the singular piece of the evening inside of that anxiety gown.
00:58:33He gave us a really well edited, a really thoughtful show that made you think the art on the finale piece.
00:58:41The tricks that work on the runway.
00:58:43The big tool train and the wow factor of that volume.
00:58:47But he added pieces of him and his heart in every single piece.
00:58:51It was like a crescendo, right?
00:58:53Yes.
00:58:54For eight pieces, I thought that was very well done.
00:58:57He created consistency through asymmetry.
00:59:00From the hoodie dress to the top and skirt dress.
00:59:03The consistency is there, but they're done differently.
00:59:06Yeah.
00:59:07But it kind of follows through and then it goes into a print, which was really strong, into the fringe dress.
00:59:12Not my favorite, but that idea worked.
00:59:14I didn't feel like it would fit properly.
00:59:17It wasn't, but he has these elements that could like rock the red carpet.
00:59:22Absolutely.
00:59:23He reminds me of a Telfar.
00:59:24Everything had like a street wear, street style influence.
00:59:27But ultimately, the thing that caught fire were those bags.
00:59:31Were those bags.
00:59:32That's the business.
00:59:33Some designers just love to make clothes, but not Vishmi.
00:59:36He loves the accessory and the clothes.
00:59:39Well, you know who I'd love to see make a bag?
00:59:41Laurence.
00:59:42Oh.
00:59:43Her technique.
00:59:44That leather bag.
00:59:45Her seaming.
00:59:46Those are the things that you really value in clothing.
00:59:48A mastery of technique.
00:59:50Inventive construction.
00:59:51Inventive construction.
00:59:52In leather.
00:59:53No joke.
00:59:54She's just remarkable.
00:59:56Like every single stitch and moment was really brilliant.
01:00:01She's a sexy tailor.
01:00:02She's a sexy tailor.
01:00:04With edge.
01:00:05Right.
01:00:06She's not a good editor because she had this purple thing.
01:00:09I would have done anything to get rid of that.
01:00:12The moments where she messed up were forgettable to me.
01:00:15To the point where I would give her double points for each look that I loved.
01:00:19Because I loved it so much that biker jacket could not fit better.
01:00:24And same with the skirt.
01:00:26This is what I would want to go to the red carpet.
01:00:28And with all of that said, when this is a finale runway moment, give me a little more.
01:00:34Sometimes wow doesn't need to be big.
01:00:36It doesn't need to be big.
01:00:37And we're talking about a gown.
01:00:38I mean, I'm a gown guy.
01:00:39Just take our breath away.
01:00:40And I'm just saying, sometimes things can be quiet in their power.
01:00:44Yes.
01:00:45Yeah.
01:00:46And that speaks to her taste level.
01:00:47Yeah.
01:00:48That's what makes her such a tasteful, elevated, refined, sophisticated designer.
01:00:52That red jacket and patent leather with the lace, payette, skirt was fabulous.
01:00:59Yeah.
01:01:00It absolutely is.
01:01:02It's hard.
01:01:03All of them have that super power that will make them a phenomenal winner.
01:01:09Mm-hmm.
01:01:12Okay.
01:01:13Do we have the winner of Project Runway season 20?
01:01:18Yes we do.
01:01:27Whoo!
01:01:29Whoo!
01:01:30That was so funny, bro.
01:01:35Look at the little bit.
01:01:39Designers, today, once again, we're witnessing the relentless power of fashion.
01:01:50It has been a real honor to be sitting in this judging chair for 20 seasons.
01:02:01We are so proud of all three of you, but there can only be one winner.
01:02:06And tonight, one of you proved that your brand is ready to take this industry by storm.
01:02:14And we are ready to watch you shine.
01:02:19The winner of Project Runway is...
01:02:36I've dreamed of winning Project Runway ever since I first seen Christian on his season.
01:02:53Then to be here the second time and win, it honestly felt like the kid in me is just extremely proud and just excited as hell.
01:03:02I thank y'all so much for this.
01:03:06I miss my sister so much.
01:03:08And before she passed away, she told me I was going to win.
01:03:15All I had to do was just believe it.
01:03:17Ooh.
01:03:19And this just right here just showcased to me everything I've been fighting for is worth it.
01:03:25I owe this win to my sister.
01:03:26My biggest fan, the first person who didn't judge me for doing something outside the norm.
01:03:36And she was there to allow me to blossom and fall deeply in love with my creativity.
01:03:43Oh, you did it, baby.
01:03:45You did it.
01:03:46I love you.
01:03:47You did it.
01:03:47I know my sister is looking down and just happy and smiling from ear to ear.
01:03:55You're everything, baby.
01:03:56I love you.
01:03:58Not only am I about to have a mentorship from the CFDA, I'm about to have PR representation, which is, like, amazing.
01:04:06And then the $250,000 is just about to change everything.
01:04:10I promise I will never forget this moment ever.
