00:00PS Portal players are using the handheld for couch co-op with a simple trick that we didn't
00:09think of before.
00:10Those with a PS Plus Premium Membership can now turn every online co-op game into local
00:15co-op thanks to direct cloud streaming, which just left beta.
00:19Online games can be turned into a couch co-op game with PS Portal and a PS5.
00:24As highlighted by Reddit user Suzuki, a PS5 user can download a game on the console and
00:29let their co-op partner sign in with their PSN account to access the game.
00:34Then, the player with a PS Plus Premium Membership can cloud stream the same game on their PS Portal.
00:39Yes, this means only one person needs a Premium Membership, and a single copy of a game will
00:44do.
00:45This way, both players can partner up in virtually any multiplayer or online co-op game but in
00:50the same vicinity, one with a portal and the other with a DualSense controller in their hand.
00:55Frankly I didn't think of this before until I saw this Reddit post and I'll certainly be
00:58trying this out myself.
01:00The only issue I can think of is a potential lag for the user who's cloud streaming but
01:03it shouldn't be a huge problem.
