Sir, what made you to become an IAF pilot, from an IAF pilot to an astronaut of ISS?

No specific thought. Actually, I was serving as a test pilot when this opportunity opened up.

And I don't think there was any deliberate thought at that point of time.

It was a very instinctive decision. I think everybody's dream is to extend sky to space.

And I think when that opportunity opened up, I immediately applied.

If I'm not wrong, your training was planned in the US, Russia and India.

So, what was the toughest part?

It is challenging. The training is challenging.

And we have been training since 2020.

We have trained in Russia, then we came back to India.

We were training here and then we went to the US.

Training is achieving a similar objective, preparing people to go to space.

But they are being done in a different way in every place.

So, there are some differences, but overall the objective is same.

What was the toughest day that you have been there in ISS?

I think the first few days are challenging because your body is not feeling good.

You are not feeling good.

And you have to work because you are there for short duration.

So, first two to three days were quite challenging.

But after that, your body gets used to the space environment, so it becomes okay.

What is the suggestion you want to give to the youngsters, especially Genji?

My suggestion to them is to be excited, be curious.

I think India is on its path of space journey.

You know, it is going to be very glorious.

And a big contributor towards the dream of Viksit Bharat 2047.

So, my message to the youth is to be excited and be a part of this.

And actively participate in this.

And not just think that it is somebody else's job.
