00:00So Jessalyn, if you were going to make this movie, where would it start?
00:04It would start, like, from the beginning.
00:07At nine years old, Jessalyn Silva has, pound for pound, more ferocity and drive than boxers twice her age.
00:14She has that desire to be different, and that's the uniqueness.
00:16At nine years old, I don't have to ask her to do anything twice.
00:19Watching her fight drains me.
00:22Like, I feel like I'm getting hit, almost.
00:25I already know that I'm gonna become professional.
00:28I know I want to do that.
00:30Jess, do you feel like being a girl in boxing is harder than being a boy?
00:35Yes, because it's a male-dominated sport, and we're girls.
00:40Nobody's gonna wait for us.
00:41What?
00:42The girl ain't gonna.
00:44When people find out that she's a boxer, they think because she's a girl, it's like more of a playful type of thing.
00:51But she don't play.
00:52This sport comes with blood, sweat, and tears.
00:55So definitely sometimes I feel like crying, definitely sometimes I do cry.
00:58I feel like I want to make the team, I want to go pro, I want to have a good resume.
01:05With boxing, I want to be great.
01:07That's the goal, to be great.
01:09To leave your name in the history of boxing.
01:11Not even just female boxing.
01:13The whole thing boxing.
01:14I want everybody to know Jess wants to be a female.
01:17What I did, what I'm trying to do.
01:19Getting hit in the face is not fun, but it's fun to hit somebody in the face.
01:24Okay.
