00:01A Palestinian coach reveals his Karate Academy with his own effort to restore hope to children.

00:08Hassan al-Raid, the director of Karate Academy in southern Palestine, recounted how he found

00:14his club completely destroyed after the ceasefire.

00:18Faced with the devastation, the coach explained that he decided to start his own reconstruction

00:23project called Yes, We Can.

00:26He also stated that they began working with 200 children from nearby displaced persons

00:31camps using Karate as a tool for psychological recovery.

00:36Finally, although he admitted to facing serious difficulties due to the lack of materials and

00:42protective equipment, the coach assured that they will continue with their initiative.

00:55My name is Hanan and I am 15 years old.

00:58I came here to train so I can defend myself in case of an emergency or an attack in the

01:03street or in the camp.

01:05Before the war, we were always busy, but now, after the war, everyone is left with nothing

01:10to do.

01:11So instead of staying in the tent, I decided to come here to train.

01:20My name is Marwa Al-Halabi and I am 21 years old.

01:24I have been training at the club for five years, but we stopped during the two years of war and

01:28completely suspended the training.

01:36After the end of the war, we resumed training, including with the children.

01:40Before the war, there was life, but now the entire club is destroyed and there are no tools

01:44or equipment left.

01:46Nevertheless, we try to train with the limited resources available.

01:55There are no exercise machines and even the training hall is inadequate, but we have done

02:00our best to prepare it.

02:01The war devastated Gaza, and only a few clubs remain, and even those are damaged.

02:06We hope to reach the international level and represent Palestine and Gaza in international

02:11competitions.
