00:00Sir, what made you become an IAF pilot from IAF pilot to astronaut of ISS?

00:09No specific thought. Actually, I was serving as a test pilot when this opportunity opened up.

00:14And I don't think there was any deliberate thought at that point of time.

00:17It was a very instinctive decision. I think everybody's dream is to extend sky to space.

00:22And I think when that opportunity opened up, I immediately applied.

00:25If I'm not wrong, your training was planned in the US, Russia and India.

00:30So what was the toughest part?

00:32It is challenging. The training is challenging.

00:35And we have been training since 2020.

00:37We have trained in Russia, then we came back to India, we were training here and then we went to the US.

00:41Training is achieving a similar objective, preparing people to go to space,

00:45but they are being done in a different way in every place.

00:48So there are some differences, but overall the objective is same.

00:51What was the toughest day that you have been there in ISS?

00:55I think the first few days are challenging because your body is not feeling good.

00:59You are not feeling good.

01:00And you have to work because you are there for short duration.

01:04So the first two to three days were quite challenging.

01:07But after that, your body gets used to the space environment, so it becomes okay.

01:10What is the suggestion you want to give to the youngsters, especially Genji?

01:15My suggestion to them is to be excited, be curious.

01:18I think India is on its path of space journey.

01:21You know, it is going to be very glorious and a big contributor towards the dream of Viksit Bharat 2047.

01:27So my message to the youth is to be excited and be a part of this and actively participate in this

01:32and not just think that it is somebody else's job.

01:35Assume the responsibility and think that this is my job.

01:38You know, I have to take India from here to being Viksit Bharat 2047.
