Hello and welcome everyone. Ahh, weddings. There are expensive weddings, simple weddings, weddings by Elvis, budget weddings and then there are weddings on a dime. I mean really on a dime, I'm talking about a Kinks Low Budget wedding. Our tale from 1943 called Ghost on the Loose starts with you guess it, a wedding. It seems The East Side Kids Glimpy's sister Betty is marrying a guy named Jack. Now Muggs and the gang are handling the wedding arrangements, the decorations, music and flowers lol. Everything is going somewhat, Okay who am I kidding. Everything is going hysterical. But at least Jack is on the ball, he has purchase a house for him and his bride. Nice, right? Well don't you believe it. Because it seems the house he purchase is right next door to a haunted house. Mmm, haunted? Well something ain't right next door. Anywho, our loving couple go on their honeymoon to a hotel in the city. Meanwhile Muggs and the gang find out where the loving couple new house is and decide to do a fixer upper for them. Well the so called haunted house next door isn't too happy about this and the owner of the so called haunted house send one of his minions to buy the next door house from the honeymooning couple but it's a no go. Meanwhile Muggs and the gang arrive at the address they found and and get to work cleaning. Little do they know the ghost turn out to be, dun dun dun! Nazis. Oh yes, Nazis and they are lead by none other then Bela Lugosi. I guess times were tough at the castle. Okay I tried. Well one thing leads to another and you guess it, The East Side Kids prevail. Staring in this silly tale we have Rick Vallin as Jack, Ava Gardner as Betty, Bela Lugosi as Emil, Leo Gorcey as Muggs, Huntz Hall as Glimpy, Bobby Jordan as Danny, Sammy Morrison as Scruno, Billy Benedict as Benny aka Skinny, Stanley Clements as Stash, Bobby Stone as Dave aka Rocky, Bill Bates as Sleepy aka Dave, Minerva Urecal as Hilda, Wheeler Oakman as Tony, Peter Seal as Bruno, Frank Moran as Monk, Jack Mulhall as Lieutenant and many more wonderful actors. So let's raise a glass of Champagne to the happy couple and enjoy. Thanks so much for watching.

00:01:57It's a beautiful example of musical expression. Sounded like a broken down dirge.
00:02:07Hey Dave! Dave!
00:02:11What color are your eyes?
00:02:15If you don't want them to be black, you better keep them open. I want you to pay some attention to this lethargy in opera.
00:02:20Yes, sir.
00:02:21Benny!
00:02:22You're dimming a little on your dimuendo.
00:02:24Oh, that's fine.
00:02:25Yes. Great.
00:02:27You, from you, I want a little more sweetness.
00:02:30But I'm saying sweet.
00:02:31If you can't sing any sweeter than that, you better hum.
00:02:33And Rocky?
00:02:35MF.
00:02:37That's for you.
00:02:38MF? What does that mean?
00:02:40Well, uh...
00:02:41I don't know. Look, it says MF there. What do I know from those Latin abbreviations?
00:02:44Hey, uh...
00:02:45I, uh...
00:02:46Think it means, uh, misfeeling, misfeeling.
00:02:49Danny, you let me down the worst of all.
00:02:53Your moderato oblicato was just a little bit, uh, staccato.
00:02:58Uh...
00:02:59I'm sorry, Bunch, but I had a cold.
00:03:01What?
00:03:02I said I'm awfully sorry.
00:03:03But I had a cold!
00:03:04Quick, quick Ethan, boys. Play it again. Play it again.
00:03:07Play it again, I say it.
00:03:09Come on, once more.
00:03:11Page 7..
00:03:21See Me only with Thine eyes That I will bless with mine
00:03:27For he hath goose within the cup That I have not God for mine
00:03:41That lovely boy, he's perfectly lovely.
00:03:44The rosary's always been one of my favorite hymns.
00:03:47Oh, you ain't heard nothing yet.
00:03:48Why don't we polish it off a little?
00:03:49Oh, good!
00:03:53Is she kidding?
00:03:54He must have a tin ear.
00:03:56Yeah, we're pretty good.
00:03:57I'm gonna tell you something.
00:03:59This thing must have some more crescendo.
00:04:02If you ask me, it's a little bit on the stinkado side,
00:04:05if you know what I mean.
00:04:07Now, screw it on, Glippi.
00:04:08Let's have your version of this number.
00:04:10Drink to me only, with thine eyes and a million.
00:04:19See what I mean?
00:04:20Yeah.
00:04:21You know what you was doing before?
00:04:22Yeah.
00:04:23You see what they're doing now?
00:04:24Yeah.
00:04:25Well, I want you to reach a happy medium.
00:04:27Now, hit that last note.
00:04:29What are you doing?
00:04:30You told me to hit it.
00:04:31He's gonna jail him, a minor.
00:04:33Give him a pick and send him home.
00:04:35Pick that head.
00:04:36Nice.
00:04:37Come on, more music.
00:04:38Drink to me only, with thine eyes and a...
00:04:45Oh.
00:04:46Stand your feet, kid.
00:04:47You'll get a draw.
00:04:48Now, don't let me stop.
00:04:49We'll keep right on rehearsing.
00:04:50It's getting better all the time.
00:04:51Oh, Ma, we'll go upstairs.
00:04:53Let's go to my house.
00:04:54It's quiet today.
00:04:55Ah, we'll never get rehearsed.
00:04:57Hey, Max.
00:04:58Why can't I sing in that quartet?
00:04:59I used to sing in a quartet with six members.
00:05:01I can sing in those fortissimo's and loud, too.
00:05:03You can't sing at this ceremony.
00:05:04You're the best man.
00:05:05I wouldn't say that.
00:05:06I'm pretty good.
00:05:07You're only the best man because your sister's getting married.
00:05:10It don't mean you're the best, or it don't even mean you're a man.
00:05:12Now, do you know what to do when this ritual starts?
00:05:14Yeah, when a guy asks me for the ring, I run home and get it.
00:05:16What do you mean you run home and get it?
00:05:18You already got it.
00:05:19I don't see it.
00:05:20Limpy, did you hock that ring?
00:05:23Oh, Muggs, you cut me to the quick.
00:05:27Here, your veil, dear.
00:05:29Oh.
00:05:30Oh, you look beautiful.
00:05:33Oh, now, Mommy.
00:05:34You promised not to cry.
00:05:35Oh, I know.
00:05:36I know.
00:05:37But when I think of you moving clear off into the country into a strange house you've never
00:05:42even seen.
00:05:43It isn't so far.
00:05:44It's only two miles from the end of the subway.
00:05:46And Jack says it's beautiful.
00:05:47Oh.
00:05:48We were lucky to get it so cheap.
00:05:49I suppose so.
00:05:50But when I think of you...
00:05:51Fiona promised to be out today and we can move in tonight.
00:05:54Oh.
00:05:55Oh, no.
00:05:56Oh, then, Mommy, don't cry.
00:05:57You'll get your nose all red.
00:05:58Come on.
00:05:59Let's try on the veil.
00:06:00Oh.
00:06:01Stop.
00:06:02I will not take more line.
00:06:14What is this?
00:06:15Duffy Stafford?
00:06:16It's mighty nice for you guys to go to all this trouble.
00:06:19You ain't seen nothing.
00:06:20This is going to be the most pre-temptations wedding that Avenue A ever witnessed.
00:06:23Where's Betty?
00:06:24Eh, she's in the room seeing which window curtain looks best on her.
00:06:27Yeah.
00:06:28Watch out for my glasses.
00:06:29You want a police escort at this wedding?
00:06:31I'm afraid they only go to society weddings, Muggs.
00:06:33You want a police escort?
00:06:34For sure.
00:06:35I'll get it.
00:06:36How do you like the police?
00:06:37How does it look?
00:06:38Oh, it looks fine.
00:06:39I think it needs a few more declarations.
00:06:42Hey, Stax.
00:06:43Skinny.
00:06:44Scuno.
00:06:45Yeah.
00:06:46Get out there and rustle up some more flowers.
00:06:47Oh, that's fine.
00:06:48More flowers?
00:06:49All right.
00:06:50All right.
00:06:51Let's go.
00:06:52Snap on it.
00:06:53What's the matter, Jackie?
00:06:54You nervous?
00:06:55Oh, not at all.
00:06:56I thought I would be.
00:06:57Oh, Glimpy, before I forget it.
00:06:58Here, you better take this ring.
00:06:59Oh, he ain't nervous.
00:07:00Look at his hand.
00:07:01Better steal coffee.
00:07:02Look, hold it and don't lose it.
00:07:04Oh, I won't lose it.
00:07:05I'll put it right here so we can work.
00:07:06You'll lose it if you put it there.
00:07:07Here, keep it on your finger.
00:07:08There.
00:07:09Now you won't lose it.
00:07:10Does this mean we're engaged?
00:07:11Oh, no.
00:07:12What are you wearing this afternoon?
00:07:14I'm going to wear my black and white checker ensemble.
00:07:17You can't wear that zoot suit.
00:07:18This is a serious occasion.
00:07:19What are you wearing, Jack?
00:07:20A tuxedo.
00:07:21All right, Tandy, Rocky, go out and get Glimpy a tuxedo, a reasonable facsimile.
00:07:25Right.
00:07:26On our way, Mugg.
00:07:27Hey, you think I'm wearing one of the monkey suits with a collar and tie?
00:07:29You wear what I tell you, and you'll like it.
00:07:31Okay, we'll get it a winner.
00:07:32Say, has the agent been here with the papers on my house yet?
00:07:34Not sure.
00:07:35You know, I wish I was a big airplane engineer so I could buy one of those houses in the suburbs.
00:07:40Well, the houses are steel, Mugg, so I couldn't have bought it.
00:07:42I only hope there isn't anything wrong with it.
00:07:44Well, what makes you think there's anything wrong with it?
00:07:46It's too good to be true.
00:07:47Oh, you just got those before the wedding jitters.
00:07:49You'll get over that.
00:07:50You need a little more experience.
00:07:51You really think the place looks pretty nice, huh?
00:07:53Oh, it's fine, Muggs.
00:07:54Yeah, it could look better with some of them pictures on the wall, those paintings, those morales.
00:07:58Not morales, moral.
00:08:00Look, do you guys mean murals?
00:08:02Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:08:03That's right.
00:08:04He threw me off.
00:08:05You know, he's dumb sometimes.
00:08:06Look, I gotta go make a bullet ball.
00:08:08I'll see you later.
00:08:09Okay.
00:08:10Hey, Muggs, what is it with those superbs?
00:08:11What are they?
00:08:12Superbs?
00:08:13Well, that's a place where you got no running water, you got no trolley cars, you got nothing.
00:08:16Oh, poor people, huh?
00:08:17That's right.
00:08:18Let's go.
00:08:19Hey, Dave.
00:08:22Dave.
00:08:23Hey, fellas, look here, look.
00:08:24Look, I ain't got something falling.
00:08:25Put them back, put them back.
00:08:26I only need a little water, that's all.
00:08:27Put them back.
00:08:28Oh, okay.
00:08:29Hey fellas, look here! Look! Look, I ain't got something found!
00:08:41Put them back. Put them back.
00:08:42I only need a little water, that's all.
00:08:44Put them back!
00:08:45Oh.
00:08:46Look here, that's supposed to bring good love.
00:09:00Oh, that's fine.
00:09:01Now, Muggs said we got to keep the wedding honest, didn't he?
00:09:04Yeah.
00:09:07Anybody got any screen?
00:09:16Man, look at all of them pretty posers laying there.
00:09:29Must have fallen out of the truck.
00:09:31Yeah.
00:09:32Should I call them back?
00:09:33Yeah, you better.
00:09:34Hey mister, you dropped your flowers.
00:09:38I guess it didn't hear me.
00:09:39Too bad.
00:09:40Shall we?
00:09:46Well, I guess that's everything, Mr. Gibson.
00:09:48You have the papers and the keys to the house, and I hope you'll both be very happy in it.
00:09:52Well, thank you very much.
00:09:53Oh, how about the present owners?
00:09:54Have they moved in?
00:09:55Oh, they'll be out in plenty of time for you to move in.
00:09:57I hope so.
00:09:58After all, it's our honeymoon, you know.
00:10:00Oh, sure, sure.
00:10:01I understand.
00:10:02I was married myself once.
00:10:04Boy, will I ever forget that.
00:10:07Well, maybe you'll have better luck.
00:10:09I hope so.
00:10:10Oh, how about the house?
00:10:11You say it's in pretty good condition.
00:10:12Well, it could stand a little fixing up, maybe.
00:10:15By the way, you're not superstitious, are you?
00:10:17Why?
00:10:18Well, the old couple are trying to tell me that the house next door is haunted.
00:10:21Haunted?
00:10:22Yeah, but you know how old people are, always imagining things.
00:10:25Oh, yeah, sure.
00:10:26Of course, it's a lot of nonsense.
00:10:28Sure.
00:10:29Well, goodbye, Mr. Gibson.
00:10:30Goodbye.
00:10:31And may the house soon be filled with many pleasant memories.
00:10:34Oh, thanks a lot.
00:10:35Bye.
00:10:36Bye.
00:10:37Okay.
00:10:38Here's everything except the shoes.
00:10:40You don't need them, do you?
00:10:41Oh, no, thanks.
00:10:42He's got his own shoes.
00:10:43And this collar may be a little small for Glimpy, but it's the best I can do.
00:10:46Oh, that's right.
00:10:47Glimpy's got a small neck anyway.
00:10:48Yeah, this is swell.
00:10:49We'll take good care of it, too.
00:10:50Well, make sure you get it back tonight.
00:10:52I need it for Louie to look tomorrow.
00:10:54Okay.
00:10:55Come on, Rock.
00:10:56Right, Danny.
00:10:57Come on, Rock.
00:10:58Come on, Rock.
00:10:59Come on, Rock.

00:11:03Come on, Rock.
00:11:04Come on, Rock.
00:11:05Come on, Rock.
00:11:06Come on, Rock.
00:11:07What's the matter, Jack?
00:11:08Oh, nothing, Mrs. Williams.
00:11:09Nothing at all.
00:11:10Look, can I see Betty just for a minute?
00:11:12Oh, I should say not.
00:11:13Why don't you know it's bad luck to the groom to see the bride before the wedding?
00:11:16Oh, Mom, just for a minute?
00:11:17No, you'll be seeing her soon enough.
00:11:18Now, you and I'll tell your papers.
00:11:19Okay.
00:11:20We were just downtown and we heard some detectives down there talking about a mob going to break
00:11:25in on Jack Gibson's wedding.
00:11:27We didn't think you'd like any of those downtown guys coming up here making a pinch right under
00:11:30your nose.
00:11:31I see.
00:11:32Whose mob is it?
00:11:33Well, we didn't get none of the details.
00:11:35We was in a hurry.
00:11:36I think he said it was one of the catchmen mob.
00:11:38Okay.
00:11:39I'll have a couple of them then.
00:11:40Take care of it.
00:11:41The address is 32 East 33rd Street.
00:11:4332 East 33rd?
00:11:46Yeah, 5 o'clock.
00:11:475 o'clock.
00:11:48All right, boys.
00:11:49Thanks, Lieutenant.
00:11:50We'll return to favor someday.
00:11:57Hey, Shorty, would you mind sitting over there?
00:11:59That chair is reserved for the bride's mother.
00:12:01Okay, thanks.
00:12:13Stand still, will ya?
00:12:16Oh, you look swell, Glippi.
00:12:17What's the trouble?
00:12:18Oh, we can't get this collar on.
00:12:20Can't get the collar on, huh?
00:12:21Stand back.
00:12:22Let me take a crack at it.
00:12:24Get him from the back, Danny.
00:12:26Now push in a little bit.
00:12:28Take a deep breath.
00:12:30Now hold it.
00:12:31Let's see.
00:12:32This one goes in here.
00:12:33Mm-hmm.
00:12:34All right, now.
00:12:35I thought I told you to hold it.
00:12:36What do you think I am a foil diver?
00:12:37Look, don't give me no opposition.
00:12:39Just do like I tell you.
00:12:40Now pull in your Adam's apple.
00:12:42Pull it in.
00:12:43Come on.
00:12:44I'm getting it.
00:12:45I'm getting it.
00:12:46Don't move.
00:12:47Don't.
00:12:48I got it.
00:12:49I got it.
00:12:50Now, I told you to hold your breath.
00:12:52Pull in your Adam's apple.
00:12:54There you go.
00:12:55There you go.
00:12:56Get the brain.
00:12:57I got it.
00:12:58Here.
00:12:59He's all right.
00:13:00Get him up.
00:13:01Let him relax his muscles.
00:13:02Pull him up.
00:13:03Here you are.
00:13:04How's that?
00:13:05Good.
00:13:06How's your voice, Danny?
00:13:07It's much better, I think.
00:13:09Well, don't use it till you have to sing.
00:13:15Tight.
00:13:16Oh, it's all in your mind.
00:13:17That's not tight.
00:13:18You got lots of room there.
00:13:19Here you are.
00:13:20You see that?
00:13:24Muggs, look what we got.
00:13:28Yeah, Muggs, look at me.
00:13:29Teach it.
00:13:30Oh, that's beautiful.
00:13:31Now, that's got some class.
00:13:35What's that?
00:13:36What?
00:13:37Rest in peace.
00:13:44In loving memory, to Louie the Lug from the gang,
00:13:48we didn't mean to shoot you, Louie.
00:13:51Honest.
00:13:53Where did you get that?
00:13:55On the street.
00:13:57On a truck.
00:13:58Fell off.
00:14:01You know that Sacralurius?
00:14:03No kill?
00:14:05Take it back.
00:14:07That guy ain't got no conscience.
00:14:09Can you imagine a thing like this?
00:14:11Hey, wait a minute.
00:14:12Come here.
00:14:13Come here.
00:14:17I don't suppose there would be any more Sacralurius if we brought it back after the wedding.
00:14:20Put it in the parlor.
00:14:22Wait a second.
00:14:26Gotta return that after the wedding.
00:14:28Take it away.
00:14:31Here, hold onto those.
00:14:33Hey, that's funny.
00:14:34This is Louie's suit.
00:14:36What are you doing?
00:14:37I ain't wearing this.
00:14:38Don't worry about nothing.
00:14:39Louie don't need that suit until tomorrow.
00:14:41Yeah, but can't I wear my check suit with the belt on the back?
00:14:43No, you can't.
00:14:44This is a high class wedding.
00:14:45You're gonna wear that suit right there.
00:14:46Oh, but Muggs, this suit belonged to Louie.
00:14:50I bet I know what killed him.
00:14:51This collar choked him to death.
00:14:53What are you taking the collar off for?
00:14:55What's the matter with you?
00:14:56Ah, grab him.
00:14:57Hey, you fellas.
00:14:58I didn't mean it.
00:14:59I'm sorry.
00:15:00Everything.
00:15:01You must not move into that house, I tell you.
00:15:05You made one mistake for me.
00:15:06But not buying it from the elders.
00:15:08Now, don't make another mistake.
00:15:10Get that place from Gibson.
00:15:12Yeah, but Gibson's getting married today.
00:15:14Why don't we, uh, just wait?
00:15:16Do you question my orders?
00:15:18No, it isn't that animal.
00:15:19It's just that, uh...
00:15:20I can't see why this guy would be any worse than that house in the Elwoods.
00:15:24You can't see.
00:15:26That old couple was too frightened to interfere.
00:15:29But nobody knows what this young fool will do.
00:15:32All right, animal.
00:15:33I'll get it.
00:15:34And try to use your head.
00:15:35Get him alone.
00:15:37All right.
00:15:40Come on, kid.
00:15:41Now, don't take that off again.
00:15:42Hey, fellas ready yet?
00:15:43It's about time to get started.
00:15:44What's the matter?
00:15:45Clippy's neck was a little bit too big for the collar, but it's okay now.
00:15:48Oh, well, where's the tie?
00:15:49Great, Ed.
00:15:50Jack.
00:15:51There's a fella outside that says he has to see you.
00:15:52I can't see him now.
00:15:53I'm getting married.
00:15:54He says it's important.
00:15:55Who is he?
00:15:56I don't know, but he says it'll just take a few minutes.
00:15:57Okay.
00:15:58I'll be right back, fellas.
00:15:59Hi, Jack.
00:16:00Oh.
00:16:01Well, Tony, I haven't seen you for a long time.
00:16:02Where have you been?
00:16:03I've been busy.
00:16:04I know you're in a hurry, and it won't take a bunch of your time.
00:16:06I want to buy that house on Elm Street.
00:16:07Oh, don't be crazy.
00:16:08I just bought it myself.
00:16:09I know you did, and I know what you paid for it.
00:16:10I represent a party that, um, well, they are willing to double what you gave them.
00:16:13Why?
00:16:14Well, they are willing to double what you gave them.
00:16:15Why?
00:16:16What do they want my place?
00:16:17What difference does it make?
00:16:18They want it?
00:16:19They want it?
00:16:20They're willing to pay for it.
00:16:21Now the answer's no.
00:16:22Oh, wait a minute.
00:16:23You can't take a bride and a house like that.
00:16:25Look, will you all be in a town?
00:16:40Look, I'm a wife.
00:16:44Look, suppose you tell me what all this mystery about that house is, huh?
00:16:48Haven't you heard?
00:16:50You know that big estate next door?
00:16:52Yeah.
00:16:53It's haunted.
00:16:55What do you know?
00:16:57All right, laugh at your life, but why do you think they sold it to you so cheap?
00:17:02Well, who lives next door?
00:17:05And why do they want my place?
00:17:07Well, let's say that they're eccentric.
00:17:10They don't like neighbors.
00:17:11All right, now, that's perfect.
00:17:13Don't touch nothing.
00:17:13Okay, line up like I told you.
00:17:22And don't forget you crescend those and dim you in those, and I don't want no altercations in the lyrics.
00:17:27Let's go.
00:17:32You're out of step, you lug.
00:17:34So you can see why you don't want to take your wife to a place like that.
00:17:57No, I guess I don't, but she has a heart set on going there tonight.
00:18:01I understand it.
00:18:02Look, Jack, there's $500 to buy in the deal.
00:18:05Why don't you take your wife away for a few days, you know, on a honeymoon?
00:18:09You have to do that anyway.
00:18:10Explain about the house when you get back.
00:18:12If I had more time, I'd...
00:18:13Oh, look, get all about business until you come home.
00:18:16Yeah.
00:18:17When you get ready to close the deal, write me at this address.
00:18:21They'll get in touch with me.
00:18:22All right.
00:18:23This is a place next to mine, huh?
00:18:24Yeah.
00:18:25A haunted house.
00:18:26Oh, okay.
00:18:29What, Jack?
00:18:30Just a word of warning.
00:18:32When you do get back, write to me.
00:18:34Don't go out there.
00:18:35Yeah, okay, I'll see you later.
00:18:42Hey, Dave.
00:18:44Dave.
00:18:44Dave.
00:18:56Bring to me only with thine eyes, and I will bless with my heart.
00:19:13Or leave a kiss within the cup, and I'll not ask for why.
00:19:26The thirst that drums, the soul, the prize, the fast, the drink of wine.
00:19:38But might I up, Joe's nectar's up, I would not pay for thine.
00:19:50Are you ready, Glimpy?
00:19:57Yeah, that'll be all dirty.
00:19:59Come on.
00:20:16Dave.
00:20:17Dave.
00:20:17Dave.
00:21:00Dearly beloved, we are assembled here today to join this man and this woman in holy marriage.
00:21:15For as much as these two persons have come hither to be made one in the holiest state,
00:21:21if there be any here present who know any just cause why they may not lawfully be joined in marriage,
00:21:27I require him now to speak or forever hold his peace.
00:21:36I now pronounce you man and wife.
00:21:57Hey gang, Libby's getting exflexiated.
00:22:19He's suffocating!
00:22:28There's so much fuss about a cuddler.
00:22:29I hope he's not dating.
00:22:30Hey, Clint.
00:22:30Look, are you all right, Libby?
00:22:32Clint.
00:22:32Clint.
00:22:33Hey.
00:22:34There you are.
00:22:35You all right now?
00:22:37You feel good?
00:22:38Fine.
00:22:38Betty, why don't you invite us all over to your new home?
00:22:54We could have a party.
00:22:55Well, I'd like to very much, Daddy, but...
00:22:57Well, it's all right, darling.
00:22:58We're not going out there tonight anyway.
00:23:00Not going to our new house, but Jack, why not?
00:23:02Well, it's...
00:23:04Well, I made some extra money, so I thought we'd take a little trip first.
00:23:09You know, a honeymoon.
00:23:11You know anything about that, Clint?
00:23:13It's news to me.
00:23:15Well, the place needs an awful lot of fixing up, you know.
00:23:17Oh, yeah?
00:23:19I hope you don't mind, darling.
00:23:22Oh, no, darling.
00:23:23Anything you want to do is all right with me.
00:23:27You've got lipstick all over me.
00:23:28Oh.
00:23:28Oh.
00:23:32322 Elm Street.
00:23:36That must be his new house.
00:23:38So he is, maybe.
00:23:39Well, folks, I guess we'd better go.
00:23:40Come on, darling.
00:23:54Someday I hope to get married.
00:23:56You know that, Scruino?
00:23:57What do you got there, Scruino?
00:23:59Man, this is rice.
00:24:00What's the idea of the plan?
00:24:01Nothing.
00:24:02I just had my mom to cook it, so it'd be nice and soft.
00:24:05Look at you.
00:24:05I see what you mean.
00:24:07Right?
00:24:11Hey, where are those gangsters that are supposed to be here?
00:24:13Gangsters?
00:24:14Yeah, gangsters.
00:24:15Well, maybe they lost the address, or maybe you scared them away.
00:24:19Yeah, you look like an old-time scarer.
00:24:21Why don't you use some diplomacy?
00:24:23I got my diploma when I graduated from school.
00:24:25Where did you graduate?
00:24:26Kindergarten?
00:24:27Oh, I skipped kindergarten.
00:24:28I was too old.
00:24:29Here we go.
00:24:31Here we go.
00:24:31Here we go.
00:24:41More vanilla.
00:24:46Louie isn't gonna like this.
00:24:47You shouldn't have sold that nice young couple the house without warning them.
00:24:54Now, Sarah, there's no use starting something that we can't actually prove.
00:24:59You know in your heart, John, there's something going on in that house next door that isn't strictly honest.
00:25:04But we don't know positively, Sarah.
00:25:07Why, John Elwood, how can you say that after all we've seen and heard in the last six months?
00:25:12Now, now, let's not talk about it anymore.
00:25:15We're out of there and finished with the whole thing.
00:25:18Well, I've not finished with it.
00:25:22What are you going to do?
00:25:24Phone the police.
00:25:26Now, wait a minute, wait a minute.
00:25:29They'll ask a lot of questions and the first thing you know we'll be held as material witnesses.
00:25:33They don't have to know who gave them the information.
00:25:36Well, I wouldn't do it now, Sarah.
00:25:39Well, I would.
00:25:41Give me the police.
00:25:45Police Department.
00:25:49Lieutenant Brady speaking.
00:25:50This is Mrs. John G.
00:25:52I wish to report some mysterious goings-on at 322 Elm Street.
00:26:01322 Elm.
00:26:03What kind of goings-on?
00:26:05Oh, there's noises and screams and people going in and out all hours of the night.
00:26:11All kinds of funny businesses.
00:26:13Who is this speaking?
00:26:14This is Mrs. John G.
00:26:17Hello?
00:26:18Hello?
00:26:19Hello?
00:26:20Press that call.
00:26:21Send in Mulligan and O'Brien.
00:26:26Well, I think that's the place.
00:26:27Don't look very cheerful though, does it?
00:26:28You certainly do not.
00:26:29Come on, get your tools.
00:26:30We've got a hard night's work.
00:26:31Come on, Glimp.
00:26:32Okay.
00:26:33Oh, look at the beautiful flowers.
00:26:34Can't put ketchup on flowers.
00:26:35It is a pretty big place for some people, ain't it?
00:26:36Yeah.
00:26:37Hey, there's a house on there.
00:26:38It looks more like a place Jack was talking about.
00:27:01It looks more like the place Jack was talking about.
00:27:05Yeah, it does at that.
00:27:07What did I do with that card?
00:27:10Hey, Climpy, my eyes ain't so good.
00:27:12What's the number on that house?
00:27:17322.
00:27:18Well, what's the number on that card?
00:27:22322.
00:27:23That must be the place, then.
00:27:24Looks like it.
00:27:25Hey, what are you guys waiting for?
00:27:27We want to decorate this house tonight, not tomorrow.
00:27:28Let's go!
00:27:29We're coming, we're coming.
00:27:31Come on, guys, let's go.
00:27:32All right.
00:27:35You got all the accessories?
00:27:36Yeah, we got everything.
00:27:37Okay.
00:27:44Hey, Climpy, give me the key.
00:27:45Me, me, me, me.
00:27:46The key to the house.
00:27:51What key? You crazy?
00:27:53Lucky I got the address.
00:27:54Just a little detail we overlooked, I guess.
00:27:56Well, let's go home.
00:27:57Yeah, we'll see you.
00:27:58Come back here.
00:27:59Ain't you got no ingenuity?
00:28:01Give me that hammer.
00:28:08Remind me to put a new glass in there in the morning.
00:28:10Hey, Muggs, watch out.
00:28:11You might cut your juggle up.
00:28:12I might cut your juggle up.
00:28:19What's the matter with you guys?
00:28:20You scared?
00:28:21Well, I'm not.
00:28:22I bet.
00:28:23All right, then go on in.
00:28:25The rest of you lives can precede me.
00:28:27What's eating you?
00:28:28Man, if I get lost in there, ain't nobody ever gonna find me.
00:28:32Eh, find you, don't worry.
00:28:33In you go.
00:28:34In who goes?
00:28:35In we all go.
00:28:36Come on, quit stalling.
00:28:37All right, well, go on.
00:28:38What?
00:28:39Got what to do.
00:28:40Look at your brave, Mike.
00:28:41Well?
00:28:42Go ahead, Clint.
00:28:43Uh, don't you think the lawn needs mowing or something like that?
00:28:46What are you gonna do?
00:28:47Take the water off your knees?
00:28:48Get in there.
00:28:49Hey, kinda misty in here.
00:29:01Anybody got a match?
00:29:05Watch out you'll scare the bats.
00:29:14That's better.
00:29:16Take a look in here.
00:29:19Oh, Jack wasn't kidding when he said this place needs fixing up.
00:29:39Look at that.
00:29:40No quaintance.
00:29:41No drapes.
00:29:42No lamps.
00:29:43No knickknacks.
00:29:44No nothing.
00:29:45Where are we gonna get some furniture?
00:29:47What about that house next door?
00:29:49What about it?
00:29:50Well, I saw a sign that says, uh, it's all completely furniture.
00:29:53What do you want us to do, buy another house?
00:29:55Oh, just buy the furniture.
00:29:56Let someone else buy the house.
00:29:57That's good.
00:29:58It's the best idea you had in ten years.
00:30:01Let's go take a look, fellas.
00:30:02Put that stuff down.
00:30:03Okay.
00:30:04I'll give you a look, fellas.
00:30:05Monk.
00:30:06There's boys in the house.
00:30:07What'd we do?
00:30:08We'll make that place look like a million bucks.
00:30:09Boy, you are kidding.
00:30:10That's all.
00:30:11Okay.
00:30:12Why don't you wear the rug?
00:30:13Okay.
00:30:14No nothing.
00:30:15Go in.
00:30:16Okay.
00:30:17Okay.
00:30:18Lincoln.
00:30:19Let's go.
00:30:21Oh, no.
00:30:23There's no nothing.
00:30:24There's no nothing.
00:30:25Yep.
00:30:26I'm not kidding.
00:30:27My church.
00:30:28We're not kidding.
00:30:29He's the only thing to do.
00:30:30He's the only thing to do.
00:30:31Monk.
00:30:32Monk.
00:30:33There's boys in the house.
00:30:35What do we do?
00:30:36We'll make that place look like a million bucks.
00:30:37Oh, you are kidding.
00:30:38Ok.
00:30:39Hey, the door's open.
00:30:43They must trust their neighbors.
00:30:52Wow, this is really nice.
00:30:55Lamps, drapes, books, everything.
00:30:58I wonder why he bought that old house next door instead of this one.
00:31:00Yeah, I guess there wasn't enough room in a yacht for a victory garden, huh?
00:31:04Could sure make some improvements over there with this stuff.
00:31:06Yeah, but do you think we should really take these things?
00:31:08Hey, Sir, I don't care. I'm his brother-in-law.
00:31:13Good enough for me. It's good enough for my sister.
00:31:14Stop moving it, then. Go ahead. Stop moving it.
00:31:16Pick up something. Don't pick up nothing heavy.
00:31:17Oh, I've got to get some folks in my mind.
00:31:27Good evening, sir.
00:31:28Good evening.
00:31:29Oh, but can you give us a room and a bath?
00:31:31Yes, sir.
00:31:34What's funny, dear?
00:31:35Well, that's an old joke.
00:31:36Look, I say, can you give us a room and a bath?
00:31:39And he's supposed to say, well, I can give you a room,
00:31:41but you'll have to take the bath yourself.
00:31:45Really?
00:31:46Would you care to register, sir?
00:31:49Thanks.
00:31:55There.
00:31:55How does that look, Mrs. Gibson?
00:31:59I like it.
00:32:00I like it.
00:32:02Oh, are you Mr. John Gibson?
00:32:04Oh, yeah.
00:32:05Sure, look here.
00:32:07I've got my, uh, my draft card,
00:32:11social security, driver's license,
00:32:13automobile club, uh...
00:32:16Do you want to see marriage certificate?
00:32:18No, thank you.
00:32:18I have a message for you.
00:32:20Message?
00:32:25Call Chelsea 5518, apartment 243.
00:32:30Who the dickens is?
00:32:31Chelsea 5518.
00:32:32I don't recognize the number.
00:32:34It sounds like a hotel.
00:32:35They said it was most urgent.
00:32:37Oh, they did, huh?
00:32:38Well, where are the phone booths?
00:32:39Right over there, sir.
00:32:40Oh, uh, well, come on, darling.
00:32:42Hold everything, huh?
00:32:43Yes.
00:32:43Yes.
00:32:43This is room 243.
00:33:06Well, this is John Gibson.
00:33:08What can I do for you?
00:33:09Oh, Mr. Gibson.
00:33:11It's about your house.
00:33:13This is Mrs. John G. Elwood.
00:33:17I thought you should know the truth about it.
00:33:19What do you mean?
00:33:23Uh-huh.
00:33:26Ah, well...
00:33:27Well, look, when we go there,
00:33:30I'll take along a big box of ghost powder.

00:33:53the place next door to our house.
00:33:54There's something fishy about the whole thing.
00:33:56I'm glad we didn't go out there now.

00:47:47He had a lot of extra dough when he left, too.
00:47:49Where did he get that?
00:47:50That's probably where this stuff comes in.
00:47:52Yeah, and how could he buy a big house like this?
00:47:54Why, you shut your big mouth.

00:48:16What do you got in your mind, Muggs?
00:48:17Well, they don't know.
00:48:19If anybody else found that stuff here,
00:48:20I know what they think.
00:48:21Yeah, that's right.
00:48:23Maybe we'd better get it out of here.
00:48:25Where are we going to take it?
00:48:26Why don't you put it in the house next door?
00:48:29Don't hit me.
00:48:29Don't hit me.
00:48:30Well, you actually think I was a bully or something.
00:48:32That's a good idea.
00:48:32Put it in the house next door.
00:48:34Go on, move it, boys.
00:48:35Go on, guys.

00:48:42But they're taking the press.
00:48:43Let them take the evidence next door.
00:48:47Remove all this piece from us.
00:48:49Did you find anything in there?
00:48:51No, nothing in there.
00:48:52Oh, we'd better take a look upstairs.
00:48:54Okay.
00:49:01Go to the room thoroughly
00:49:02and see that nothing is left to incriminate us.
00:49:04Yes, sir.
00:49:06Tony, you come with me.
00:49:07Get out.
00:49:29It was okay letting Gibson buy that house, huh?

00:49:40Nothing in there.
00:49:41Huh?
00:49:41Nothing in there.
00:49:42Oh, we'd better take a look downstairs then.
00:49:43That door wasn't open before, was it?

00:50:21As his brother-in-law, I personally thank you.
00:50:23One and all.
00:50:31Nothing down here.
00:50:33Doesn't look like it.
00:50:39Hey, I got a good idea.
00:50:40Let's call the cops.
00:50:41What, with our fingerprints all over there?
00:50:43The best idea you can get is not to get any more ideas.
00:50:46Let's see if the people in that little place know anything about it.
00:50:50Let's see if the people in that little place know anything about it.
00:51:06Let's go.
00:51:07Let's go.
00:51:07Let's go.
00:51:15We should have left that door open.
00:51:20Hey, there's Jack and Betty.
00:51:24Well, we sure got them out of a tight spot just in time.
00:51:27Well, darling, here's our little love nest.
00:51:32Oh, Jack.
00:51:34It's wonderful.
00:51:36Yeah.
00:51:39With a couple of cops hammering at the door.
00:51:43I wonder who that is.
00:51:45Let's have a look.
00:51:46Well, did you find anything?
00:51:52Uh, no.
00:51:53No, there's no one around here.
00:51:55Say, by the way, who might you be?
00:51:56I'm Jack Gibson.
00:51:57This is my wife.
00:51:58We just bought that little place.
00:51:59Oh, I see.
00:52:01Uh-oh.
00:52:02We got our signals crossed.
00:52:04Jack bought that little house, not the big one.
00:52:07Like a vault.
00:52:09You're right.
00:52:10We better get that press back out of there.
00:52:12Let's go.
00:52:13Let's go.
00:52:13Let's go.
00:52:16Well, we were sent out to look over that big place there.
00:52:19Yes, I know.
00:52:20People we bought our house from seem to think something funny is going on.
00:52:22We couldn't find anything wrong.
00:52:24It's probably their imagination.
00:52:25You know how old folks are.
00:52:27Well, we'll be heading back to the station now.
00:52:29If you hear anything, give us a ring.
00:52:30Well, I don't think we'll bother you tonight.
00:52:32Well, good night.
00:52:33Good night.
00:52:36Hey.
00:52:37What are you whistling about?
00:52:38Ouch.
00:52:39Ouch.
00:52:40I'm going to turn it off.
00:52:41Oh, shut up.
00:52:43Let's go.
00:52:49Let's go.
00:52:53Here you go.
00:53:02Here you go.
00:53:07It's open.
00:53:15This is for luck.
00:53:16Well, Allie, here we are. Look it over.
00:53:26Okay, I'll put that press back where it was and show it to the cops.
00:53:42R-17, Mulligan speaking.
00:53:44We've just looked the place all over.
00:53:47There's nothing here but a couple of newlyweds.
00:53:51Looks a little bad, doesn't it?
00:53:53I can't understand it.
00:53:54There should be more furniture here.
00:53:56Yeah, it would help, but I still think it's awful cute.
00:54:04Need some help?
00:54:05There you are.
00:54:06Thanks.
00:54:11Leave it just the way it was now.
00:54:14Okay, let's tell the law.
00:54:15Come on.
00:54:19Guess I may as well get the grips.
00:54:22Okay, we're coming right in.
00:54:24Let's go for it.
00:54:31Hey!
00:54:32Hey!
00:54:33What do you think of that? Their car's gone!
00:54:34Who?
00:54:35The cops!
00:54:36Isn't that awful?
00:54:37Hey, Muggs!
00:54:39What are you doing here?
00:54:40Well, just what I was about to ask you.
00:54:41Oh, that's a long story.
00:54:42We was decorating that house.
00:54:43Yeah, we thought it was yours.
00:54:44We found a printing press with a lot of nasty propaganda.
00:54:45Yeah, we thought it was yours.
00:54:46So we moved it over here.
00:54:47Yeah, then we found out that was yours.
00:54:48So we moved it back again.
00:54:49Nancy propaganda?
00:54:50Sure.
00:54:51So that's why they didn't want us to come out here.
00:54:52Why didn't you call the police?
00:54:53We thought it was yours.
00:54:54Is there a phone next door?
00:54:55Yeah, but that ain't yours.
00:54:56Well, come on.
00:54:57How long were you doing?
00:54:58You come in?
00:54:59You coming in?
00:55:00What?
00:55:01I said, man, what happened?
00:55:02It happened, man.
00:55:03What happened?
00:55:04All that was over here.
00:55:05So we moved it over here.
00:55:06Yeah, then we found out that was yours.
00:55:07So we moved it back again.
00:55:08No, any propaganda!
00:55:09Sure!
00:55:10So that's why they didn't want us to come out here.
00:55:11Why didn't you call the police?
00:55:12We thought it was yours!
00:55:13Is there a phone next door?
00:55:14Yeah, but that ain't yours.
00:55:15Well, come on.
00:55:16I don't confuse it, though.
00:55:17Won't be glad.
00:55:18I do a thing.
00:55:19What?
00:55:20There it is!
00:55:22Get me police headquarters.
00:55:30Hello?
00:55:31This is 322 Elm Street.
00:55:33We'll send a couple of men out here right away.
00:55:35Yeah, tell them about the Nazis.
00:55:37Yes, I know they've been here, but send them back.
00:55:40Yes, they've gone.
00:55:42That's right, thank you.
00:55:45Christian, you must get the press back to that cottage.
00:55:47They're calling the police.
00:55:49Hurry up.
00:55:52Come on, let's go. Pick it up.
00:55:55Calling car 17.
00:55:56Calling car 17.
00:55:58Return at once to 322 Elm Street.
00:56:01Urgent.
00:56:02That is all.
00:56:04We just came from there.
00:56:08Let's go.
00:56:22Where are they?
00:56:25Well, they ought to be here any minute.
00:56:26Boom.
00:56:27Oh, he's not first.
00:56:31Hey, there you are now.
00:56:32Come on, Jack.
00:56:33Okay.
00:56:36We tried to call you back, but you didn't hear us.
00:56:38There's a lot of intimidating evidence in that house.
00:56:40Hey, what is this?
00:56:40A gag?
00:56:41Well, these boys have found a printing press in the basement with a lot of subversive literature all over the place.
00:56:45It must be a Nazi hideout.
00:56:46How about the people? Seen any signs of them around?
00:56:48Heard a lot of noises. Didn't see no people.
00:56:50Well, we better take a look.
00:56:50Yeah, follow me.
00:56:53We've got all the evidence down.
00:56:55Yeah, right here.
00:56:56It's a potter.
00:56:56It's a potter.
00:56:57It's a potter.
00:56:57It's a potter.
00:56:57It's a potter, too, man.
00:56:59Come on.
00:56:59Come on.
00:57:13Who's there?
00:57:20How can you picture that?
00:57:27I must be having optical delusions.
00:57:29What's the matter?
00:57:30Well, it was a printing press here ten minutes ago.
00:57:32Well, it just got up and walked away, huh?
00:57:34Well, the thing can run, I guess a printing press can walk.
00:57:36That's right.
00:57:37You can still see the ink on our hands from where we touched it.
00:57:40That dirt could have been on your hands for the last six months, for all we know.
00:57:43Come on.
00:57:43We better get out of here before we start seeing things ourselves.
00:57:46All right, all right.
00:58:02It was there, and you saw it.
00:58:04But it ain't there now.
00:58:05They can't figure this thing out.
00:58:07We've seen that press with our own eyes.
00:58:09So did I.
00:58:09That's what I said.
00:58:11It couldn't just disappear.
00:58:13Suddenly must have taken it out of here.
00:58:15You know, I think...
00:58:16Yeah, I'll do all the thinking around here.
00:58:18All right, go ahead and think.
00:58:19You're always thinking, think.
00:58:20Think a while.
00:58:21I thought you were such a smart guy.
00:58:22We should think.
00:58:26Hey, Mumps.
00:58:27Look.
00:58:30What do you think that's for?
00:58:32Mice.
00:58:34Oh, my.
00:58:35You'll never learn nothing, will you?
00:58:37Hey.
00:58:38I bet that's how they got that press out of here.
00:58:42Just keep quiet.
00:58:44You follow me.
00:58:45Nobody here.
00:59:02Let's go home.
00:59:03Come on.
00:59:03What are you, a coward?
00:59:15Go in there already.
00:59:16What are you talking about?
00:59:17Come on.
00:59:17Hey.
00:59:18Hey, it's got my head off.
00:59:19Put your brake on.
00:59:19Go.
00:59:20Come on, Pat.
00:59:21Hey, wait a minute.
00:59:24That's funny.
00:59:26Now what?
00:59:27Those lights in my cottage.
00:59:29I turned them out.
00:59:31Now the lights are turning themselves on and off.
00:59:34Come on, Pat.
00:59:35Go ahead if you want to.
00:59:36I want to see for myself.
00:59:37Come on, Betty.
00:59:37I want to find out for himself, too.
00:59:38All right.
00:59:52But doggone.
00:59:53Fellas, lookie here.
00:59:56Hmm.
00:59:57What's this?
00:59:58It looks like the printing press.
00:59:59Ah, so it does.
01:00:01So it does.
01:00:04Ah, what are these?
01:00:05What do these look like?
01:00:06You got them same things we all have been telling you all about.
01:00:10What's it doing here?
01:00:11That's something you'll get a chance to explain.
01:00:14And you'd better think fast.
01:00:16Now, lookie, you don't think this belongs to me.
01:00:19This is your house, isn't it?
01:00:20Yes, but we'd better find Monks and tell him.
01:00:23You ain't kidding.
01:00:23Come on.
01:00:24Take a ride.
01:00:25Come on.
01:00:32Get him, Bruno.
01:00:33Ah, get him.
01:00:33Hey, take it in you.
01:00:46Benny.
01:00:49I trapped two.
01:00:50Yeah, buddy.
01:00:51What are the tagging?
01:00:52I got to take my mother, my.
01:00:55Hey, take it in you.
01:00:56Fuck it.
01:00:56Ah, you're right.
01:00:57Ah, you're right.
01:00:58Ah, you're right.
01:00:59Ah, you're right.
01:01:00Ah, you're right.
01:01:01Ah, you're right.
01:01:02Ah, you're right.
01:01:03Ah, you're right.
01:01:03Ah, you're right.
01:01:04Oh, yeah.
01:01:04But, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh.
01:01:06Oh, a drop of that.
01:01:08You look like a gorilla.
01:01:10Oh, I, you're fucking mighty.
01:01:14Come on, Benny.
01:01:16Fight for the little clock, you sing-o.
01:01:17Yeah, we...
01:01:18Get the rest of the fellas, then.
01:01:20Listen, officer, this is absolutely ridiculous.
01:01:23All I know is the presence on your property.
01:01:25I'll have to take you to headquarters to talk to the lieutenant.
01:01:27Hey, fellas, Jack, come here.
01:01:31Who's going down the tunnel?
01:01:32They got Muggs and Glippi, and they took him to a room.
01:01:34All right, but this is the last time I'll believe any of you.
01:01:37O'Brien, beat it back to the house and go down to the basement.
01:01:40I'll look down the tunnel.
01:01:44It's a great time since I knew you that you couldn't say nothing.
01:01:47Are you kidding?
01:01:50You better wait here, honey.
01:01:52You boys stay with her.
01:01:52Okay, Jack.
01:01:56Hurry up.
01:01:57They got Muggs and Glippi in there.
01:01:58Let me have a try, Jack.
01:02:01Hey, what's that?
01:02:04Must be somebody in there.
01:02:07Must be some way to get in there.
01:02:08Yeah.
01:02:10Look around here.
01:02:12We better get out of here, boss.
01:02:14Left.
01:02:22Look.
01:02:23What's the matter?
01:02:24Grab that woman.
01:02:25Wait, come on.
01:02:25Where do we go?
01:02:26Grab that woman.
01:02:27She's in the game.
01:02:27Come on.
01:02:27Get up.
01:02:28Follow me.
01:02:29I'll show you.
01:02:37Get ready.
01:02:37Hey, Glippi.
01:02:53Glippi.
01:02:54Hey, Muggs.
01:02:55Muggs.
01:02:58Hey, Glippi.
01:02:59There.
01:03:00There.
01:03:00It's Muggs.
01:03:10Hey, Muggs.
01:03:13Why don't you go home and get dressed?
01:03:16Glippi, look.
01:03:20Fine, Toney, playing Leapfrog.
01:03:22Let me have him.
01:03:22In shape, honey?
01:03:23Let's go.
01:03:26You feel good?
01:03:28Come on.
01:03:31Come out of it, Muggs.
01:03:34You're all right, kid.
01:03:35Steady.
01:03:36Wake up.
01:03:37Wake up.
01:03:39The winner.
01:03:40A new champ.
01:03:41I knew you could do it, kid.
01:03:44What a honeymoon.
01:03:45You always got to do everything the hard way.
01:04:00Everybody else gets plain, ordinary, common measles.
01:04:03So you got to go out and dig up German measles.
01:04:07What are you picking on me for?
01:04:08I know them guys were Nazis.
01:04:11Don't you know I'm sick?
01:04:11I'll throw it on you.
01:04:17Don't, Muggs.
01:04:17I apologize.
01:04:21And remember, you've got seven days more to go.
01:04:23THE END
01:04:39THE END
