Netflix on Wednesday released first look images from its upcoming drama 'Ma Rainey's Black Bottom,' starring Chadwick Boseman in his last role.

00:00Netflix is sharing a first look from its upcoming drama, Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, starring the late Chadwick Boseman.

00:06The streamer shared the images on Wednesday from the upcoming film, which stars the late actor in his last role.

00:12Directed by George C. Wolfe and based on Pulitzer Prize winner August Wilson's 1982 play,

00:18the film explores racial tensions in Chicago in 1927,

00:22while following Ma Rainey, played by Viola Davis, her black horn player and white management team.

00:27Black Panther star Boseman, who co-stars in the film, died of colon cancer on August 28th at the age of 43.

00:34Following his death, Netflix delayed a virtual preview that was planned for the project.

00:39Wolfe spoke out about his time working with Boseman, calling it a glorious experience.

00:43Every day we all got to witness the ferocity of his talent and the gentleness of his heart.

00:51The movie also stars Coleman Domingo and is produced by Denzel Washington, Todd Black and Danny Wolf.
