00:00What made you become an IAF pilot to astronaut of ISS?
00:12No specific thought. Actually I was serving as a test pilot when this opportunity opened up and I don't think there was any deliberate thought at that point of time.
00:20It was a very instinctive decision. I think everybody's dream is to extend sky to space and I think when that opportunity opened up I immediately applied.
00:28If I'm not wrong, your training was planned in the US, Russia and India. So what was the toughest part?
00:35It is challenging, the training is challenging and we have been training since 2020. We have trained in Russia, then we came back to India, we were training here and then we went to the US.
00:44Training is achieving the similar objective, preparing people to go to space but they are being done in a different way in every place.
00:51So there are some differences but overall the objective is same.
00:54What was the toughest day that you have been there in ISS?
00:58I think the first few days are challenging because your body is not feeling good, you are not feeling good and you have to work because you are there for short duration.
01:07So first two to three days were quite challenging but after that your body gets used to the space environment so it becomes okay.
01:13What is the suggestion you want to give to the youngsters, especially Genji?
01:18My suggestion to them is to be excited, be curious. I think India is on its path of space journey. It is going to be very glorious and a big contributor towards the dream of Viksit Bharat 2047.
01:30So my message to the youth is to be excited and be a part of this and actively participate in this and not just think that it is somebody else's job.
01:38Assume the responsibility and think that this is my job, you know, I have to take India from here to being Viksit Bharat 2047. Thank you.
