00:00What made you become an IAF pilot, from an IAF pilot to an astronaut of ISS?

00:15No specific thought. Actually, I was serving as a test pilot when this opportunity opened up.

00:20I don't think there was any deliberate thought at that point of time.

00:23It was a very instinctive decision. I think everybody's dream is to extend sky to space

00:28and I think when that opportunity opened up, I immediately applied.

00:31If I'm not wrong, your training was planned in the US, Russia and India.

00:36What was the toughest part?

00:38It is challenging. The training is challenging.

00:41We have been training since 2020.

00:43We have trained in Russia, then we came back to India, we were training here and then we went to the US.

00:47Training is achieving a similar objective, preparing people to go to space,

00:51but they are being done in a different way in every place.

00:54There are some differences, but overall the objective is the same.

00:57What was the toughest day that you have been there in ISS?

01:01I think the first few days are challenging because your body is not feeling good.

01:04You are not feeling good and you have to work because you are there for short duration.

01:09The first two to three days were quite challenging, but after that your body gets used to the space environment,

01:14so it becomes okay.

01:15What is the suggestion you want to give to the youngsters, especially Genji?

01:20My suggestion to them is to be excited, be curious.

01:24I think India is on its path of space journey.

01:27You know, it is going to be very glorious and a big contributor towards the dream of Viksit Bharat 2047.

01:33So my message to the youth is to be excited and be a part of this and actively participate in this

01:38and not just think that it is somebody else's job.

01:41Assume the responsibility and think that this is my job.

01:44You know, I have to take India from here to being Viksit Bharat 2047.
