A tecnologia de interceção de drones fabricada na Europa é de classe mundial. Os países bálticos, em particular, são especializados em tecnologia de drones. A que se deve esta história de sucesso? Uma reportagem da Euronews sobre a Estónia e a Letónia.

02:01Yes, indeed. We do very well in Baltics and Nordics, Poland, even Italy with our newest product, which is the Interceptor drone.
02:12You have a new system actually. How it works?
02:15Right, so it's an Interceptor drone. So it integrates with a radar and then detonates its warhead in close proximity to the target.
02:27You have actually some artificial intelligence in it, isn't it?
02:30We use AI-Models to do detection in air, autonomously.
02:34The software is really where it's secret sauce is in.

03:59How it comes that Latvia has this competitive advantage?
04:03We had four companies in the space, even before the war started in Ukraine, so that does give us the engineering pool to tap into.
04:15Drones made in Europe, are we still able to compete regarding Russia, China, Iran?
04:21Most advanced systems are built in Europe, in the western world.
04:25We are the champions of advanced and very capable systems, for sure.
04:30How to be the first one? How to handle innovation? How to be sure that we are the best?
04:36What can go wrong is Europe just hesitating. We have to be courageous and we have to be making these decisions and making them fast.

05:06The European market is fragmented. We need to pick our champions european wide and then jointly bet on the ones that have the most promising tech. So that's the only way how to get to scale.
