عام 1965 اصدر وزير العمل أنور سلامه قرارا بإلغاء تصاريح عمل الراقصات الاجنبيات ومنعهم من العمل في مصر فاضطرت كيتى رغم كونها ولدت في الإسكندرية لأم مصرية وأب يونانى لمغادرة مصر والعودة الى اليونان، كذلك فعلت نيللى مظلوم بعد ان صادرو مدرستها لتعليم رقص البالية
In 1965, Minister of Labor Anwar Salama issued a decree revoking the work permits of foreign dancers and prohibiting them from working in Egypt. Despite being born in Alexandria to an Egyptian mother and a Greek father, Kitty was forced to leave Egypt and return to Greece. Nelly Mazloum did the same after her ballet school was confiscated.
