Transcript
00:00Nice, Gary! Not for me, but cool!
00:06Pete Davidson is opening up once again about his past relationship with Ariana Grande,
00:10this time in his new Netflix special. The comedian's new stand-up special Pete Davidson
00:15Alive from New York debuted Tuesday on the streaming service and during the set it was
00:20only natural that the singer's name would be brought up. The SNL cast member admitted
00:24that he didn't plan on discussing his whirlwind relationship until his friend told him
00:29that Grande spoke about him in an interview with Vogue magazine and said that she was
00:33unfamiliar with Davidson before their relationship as well as that she dated him as a distraction.
00:38Davidson started out by clarifying to the audience that they are not competing against each other.
00:43She has her songs and stuff and this is what I have. You're like, Pete, this isn't fair.
00:47You're airing out dirty laundry. How could you do that? Where did she say this stuff?
00:51To her friends in the confidence of her own home? No, she said it on the cover of Vogue magazine.
00:56He continued saying,
00:57Can you imagine if I did that? My career would be over tomorrow if I spray painted myself brown
01:02and hopped on the cover of Vogue magazine and just started shitting on my ex.
01:06Davidson added that Grande suffered no repercussions for her comments while he got
01:10called out by outlets such as Barstool Sports. The comic admitted that life is a little
01:14unfair and joked,
01:15My biggest fear is that I'm going to get shot in the back of the head by a nine-year-old
01:19with a ponytail and the last thing I'm going to hear is hashtag cancelled.
01:23Now this isn't the first time the comedian has addressed his failed engagement to Grande
01:27in his stand-up sets. Back in August, Davidson said his biggest fear is getting killed
01:31by a 12-year-old during a show in Las Vegas and he also addressed the split during a comedy
01:36show with Judd Apatow in October of 2018 asking if anyone was looking for a roommate.
01:41His bit at the time came just a few days after his split with Grande was announced.
