00:00Phil Parkinson has made it clear that Wrexham's January transfer window will not be a repeat of the summer's heavy spending.
00:10After a £33m overhaul that brought 13 new signings into the squad following their remarkable rise to the Championship,
00:18the Wrexham manager believes the club must now prioritise stability over further disruption.
00:24Speaking to BBC Sport Wales, he explained that while injuries will be monitored,
00:29wholesale changes are not on the agenda.
00:33We've made a lot of changes in the summer and I feel we're only just getting a settled feel in the building, he said.
00:39We won't be making too many changes in the January window.
00:42We don't want to continue over-complicating with the players we've got.
00:47When you bring in 13 players, that's a big turnaround.
00:51That overhaul included significant departures, most notably long-serving star Paul Mullen,
00:56who joined Wigan Athletic on loan after years as Wrexham's talisman.
01:01Adjusting to life without him and integrating a new wave of arrivals has shaped the early months of the season,
01:06with Wrexham currently 14th in the Championship after a gritty goallish draw at Ipswich.
01:12Despite Parkinson's cautious tone, Chief Executive Michael Williamson has preferred that money will still be available in January.
01:22Reynolds and McElhenney remain committed to a long-term project,
01:25a plan that ultimately points towards the Premier League.
01:28Williamson emphasised that any January signing must serve two purposes,
01:33impact the current season and be prepared for the next step in the club's evolution.
01:38He pointed to last winter's signings Ryan Longman and Sam Smith as examples of that philosophy.
01:45Longman arrived with Championship experience,
01:47while Smith was identified as a player capable of developing into a Championship performer,
01:53and both have since contributed from the bench and in starting roles.
01:59That blend of patience and planning is now central to Wrexham's Premier League ambitions.
02:04January will not bring fireworks, but it will bring decisions designed to strengthen a squad built,
02:10not just for today, but for the journey still to come.
