00:00Previously on Canada's Drag Race, it's design challenge time.
00:09Oh my God, it's a design challenge.
00:12Category is slow motion couture.
00:15Category is fast fashion.
00:19Just incredible.
00:23Minnie Wang, congratulations.
00:25The queen I have chosen to say is Michaela Couture.
00:29Sangina de Bishqueen, sashay away.
00:39Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow.
00:43Another one bites the dust.
00:45We have lost little Sangie, little Sangina.
00:50Virgo, my beautiful mother, bring home the crown.
00:54You're too white, let me help you.
00:56Bruh, bruh, bruh, bruh, bruh, bruh, bruh, bruh.
00:58Now Uma, Uma needs to do that.
01:01La, la, la, la, la, la.
01:03It's okay, I'll take you to the hood after this.
01:05Sangina, we love you.
01:07We love you.
01:08It really is very sad to see her go, especially being another Toronto girlie.
01:13But there can only be one in the end.
01:18It's not that kind of show.
01:20Oh, okay.
01:21Bye.
01:22Sorry.
01:23Well, can we please congratulate?
01:25Oh, my God!
01:27Woo!
01:28Oh, my God!
01:29Oh, my God.
01:30That lip sync?
01:32You little minx with the floor work.
01:34I did notice that absolutely nobody said that they would save me.
01:38Babe, your competition!
01:40I'm going to choose to believe that that is the reason why,
01:43and not because you thought I didn't deserve it.
01:45Mikayla, I chose you to stay because I know that, like, we all stumble at times,
01:50and this might not be your strongest skill, but I also know that you definitely want to be here.
01:56Saving Mikayla was not a strategic decision for me.
02:00It very much was who I think was the most deserving.
02:04I do want to thank you for giving me the beaver.
02:07I knew that I was not going home no matter what.
02:11So, I thank you.
02:14My baby Virgo, how are you feeling?
02:16Honestly, I just had to, like, stand up for my daughter.
02:19I had to, like, root for her.
02:21Just, like, be here with her.
02:23It's so special, and I'm so happy she didn't give up.
02:30She didn't waver one moment.
02:32Oh, she didn't let that bother her one moment.
02:33And so, to me, it was like she left on such a strong note.
02:39She didn't give up.
02:43She never will give up, so...
02:46It does feel like I can be a bit more free.
02:51I'm no longer anyone's role model.
02:53I'm ready to fuck shit up.
02:55I'm gonna fucking win this competition for her.
02:58I'm not gonna back down.
03:00Shame!
03:01Shame!
03:02Shame!
03:03Shame!
03:04Shame!
03:05Shame!
03:06I'm about to take the motherfucking crown.
03:08And these hoes better fucking watch out.
03:10The winner of Canada's Drag Race receives the pleasure of $100,000, thanks to Trojan.
03:25With Tracy Melshore, Brad Goreski, and Brooklyn Heights.
03:29With tonight's exor-special guest judge, Simone Denny.
03:36The best drag queen, the best drag queen, the best drag queen, the best drag queen, the best drag queen, the best drag queen, the best drag queen.
03:42Well, however...
03:52It's a new date, and I am totally buggin'.
03:55I had to haul ass into the workroom and fuck shit up.
03:59I'm just a virgin who can't drive.
04:01I think we should start this off by congratulating Minnie.
04:04Yay!
04:05Congratulations!
04:06How are you feeling?
04:08I'm feeling great.
04:09I was expecting this because you were all worse than me, so...
04:14I've now got a win under my belt.
04:16I am feeling like I've got some momentum.
04:19I am finding my feet.
04:22I'm in it now.
04:23I want to congratulate Mikaela for welcoming you into the Beaver Lodge.
04:27I love the Beaver Lodge.
04:29I will not want to take the beaver anymore in this competition.
04:33I am telling y'all, it's been really nice being sisters.
04:37However, y'all better be fuckin' ready to be scared,
04:40because I am about to bring some of the nastiest competition you've ever fuckin' seen.
04:45And I'm telling y'all, you're about to be gagged.
04:48Unless it's another sewing challenge.
04:49Oh, trust me, trust me.
04:51This girl's like really, really trying so hard.
04:54And I'm really like, girl, do not try me right now.
04:57Xana always has things to say.
04:59That doesn't mean Xana's right.
05:01It means that she has something to say.
05:03I, for one, was really inspired by your fire and untucked, Mikaela.
05:07As much as people like to remind me that I've been safe this whole time,
05:10I've been a top safe this whole time.
05:12Yes. Serious.
05:13I committed almost every cardinal sin of a design challenge
05:16and was still in the top.
05:17So no one should be pissed, they should be scared.
05:20We're going to week five.
05:22The humbleness is annoying now.
05:23I think it's time to start being a little bit more of a bad bitch.
05:26There was a really big hole in your garment.
05:28I'm really upset that you were in the top of that, but...
05:30Oh!
05:31Yeah.
05:32And there was also no hems, but they didn't look like your hems, so...
05:35Shots fired!
05:36My hems were safe.
05:37Your hems looked like they were done during an earthquake, but that's okay.
05:40Oh!
05:41Oh!
05:42Oh!
05:43Oh!
05:44Oh!
05:45Oh!
05:46Canada!
05:47She didn't already done had hers.
05:50What's up, queens?
05:52Not much.
05:53What's up?
05:54Now, if you want to make those bills, bills, bills, you better show me some TLC.
05:59Hey!
06:00Just free your mind and push it!
06:04Come on!
06:05Hey!
06:06What's crack-a-lackin', queens?
06:09Yes!
06:10Yes!
06:11Come on with the dino.
06:13Tracy comes in looking like a 90s dream.
06:17I know this competition has been way harsh, but it's like time to chill out with some daytime TV starring you.
06:26Oh!
06:27I knew I'd be on COPS one day.
06:30In today's mini-challenge, I'll be holding auditions for my new daytime game show, Win This Shiznit.
06:36Yeah!
06:37Yeah!
06:38Oh!
06:39Get to Showcase Model Quick Drag and meet me on set.
06:42Bring your A-game or talk to the hand.
06:45Oh, okay.
06:47Ready, set, dip!
06:49Hey!
06:50Hey!
06:51Oh, it's curry, Jaylene.
06:52Oh, thank you.
06:53Hey!
06:54I'm going straight here.
06:56Good thing that I'm just already so gorgeous and beautiful and flawless.
07:00I don't need to put on any makeup.
07:02Ah!
07:03We are auditioning to be 90s showcase models.
07:07This is going to be fun.
07:13Hello, homies.
07:15Those doors will open, revealing a number of items that you fly honeys need to showcase.
07:22It is your job to describe the product and tell us why it's so fabulous.
07:27I'm paired up with Jaylene and I'm excited because both Jaylene and I were actually alive in the 90s.
07:33All right!
07:34Oh, pit crew!
07:35Oh!
07:36What the fuck?
07:37What is this?
07:38Please, 90s babies, tell me!
07:39Oh, I haven't seen one of these in a while.
07:54This brings me back.
07:55You've won.
07:56The purple contraption!
07:59This is actually a multi-functional tool, so you can use it for all kinds of different parts of your body.
08:05Yes, let's work out with it.
08:07Ew!
08:08This is how I got all these guns, honey.
08:09Mini ain't got nothing on me.
08:11You could put it between your knees, you know, where some of these girls probably know a lot about putting things down there.
08:17I'm trembling while I do this because it's so tough.
08:20You can actually just right up in here, just kind of...
08:23Uh-huh.
08:24Oh!
08:25Over your...
08:26Oh!
08:27Over your mouth.
08:28Well, you know, it's good to keep that jaw tight as well as the thighs.
08:31Here comes your next item!
08:33Oh!
08:34Ooh!
08:35Ooh!
08:36A fax machine?
08:39I never owned a fax machine.
08:41My grandparents didn't even own a fax machine.
08:43I don't even know how I know this is a fax machine.
08:45Who is this prize perfect for?
08:47For a businesswoman on the go.
08:49It's like texting, but that doesn't exist yet.
08:52This is state-of-the-art technology, baby.
08:55No one has had this yet.
08:57It has a cord that curls.
08:59This is really nice because you can go into the other room and get some other chores done.
09:03Well, girl, you can use it to obviously communicate with other planets.
09:08Who would be using this?
09:10Really nobody.
09:13Doctors?
09:14How do I send a fax?
09:16Well...
09:18It says fax right here.
09:19Yes.
09:20Sorry, I'm on the phone.
09:21Oh, sorry.
09:22Here comes our next prize.
09:26Oh!
09:27Oh!
09:28Now what more could you need in life besides one of these fabulous couches to decorate in your wonderfully fly home?
09:38It's perfect for relaxation.
09:41And water sports.
09:42If you need, you can use it as padding and then you just whip it out on the subway.
09:46No, don't whip it out on the subway.
09:47Or do.
09:49Make sure you don't wear anything pointy or the sofa would be fucked.
09:53If you're like me and you like to take a nap pretty much anywhere, this is the perfect gift.
09:59Do you want to demonstrate?
10:00Please, Uma, show us.
10:02Oh.
10:03Oh.
10:04Graceful.
10:05So graceful.
10:06So graceful.
10:07I do come with this prize.
10:10And if she came on it, we can wipe it right off.
10:15Thank you so much, ladies.
10:18Can we keep this?
10:19That's cute, right?
10:20We can share it.
10:21We'll send it from Toronto to Vancouver once a month.
10:27Queens, you are all slammin'.
10:29The winner of today's mini-challenge is...
10:33Uma God!
10:34Yay!
10:37There you go.
10:38Yeah.
10:39You have won $2,500 courtesy of Shoe Freaks.
10:43Ooh!
10:44Yes!
10:45All right.
10:48Now that we've seen how you all get down, it's time to raise the roof.
10:53For this week's maxi-challenge, you're going to show us where it's at.
10:57In girl group.
10:59Ooh!
11:00Ooh!
11:02Call dibs on your teammates.
11:04Now!
11:05What the fuck?
11:06Ooh!
11:09I'm looking around and I know I need some strong dancers and some strong songstresses.
11:16I think y'all should split up.
11:18Yeah.
11:19Not happening.
11:20Mikayla and Virgo want to stick together.
11:22And finally, I'm like, you know what?
11:23Fuck it.
11:24I'm just going to go with Mikayla and Virgo.
11:27Join us.
11:28Who wants to join our group?
11:29Yes!
11:30Thank God!
11:31Okay.
11:32Okay.
11:33There we go.
11:34We split.
11:35We split the difference.
11:36Wow.
11:37Literally, if you can't beat them, join them.
11:38Look at that!
11:39Jump ship.
11:40The Titanic is going down and I'm about to get on that door.
11:44Now that we have our girl groups, ready to hear about our wicked jams?
11:48Song numero uno is called, Duh!
11:51It's a girl-powered banger meant to pump up your home slice.
11:54Pump it up.
11:56Track two is titled, Not!
11:59It's an attitude-filled anthem throwing shade at a frenemy.
12:04Oh my God!
12:05As the winner of the mini challenge, you'll assign the box.
12:09Ooh!
12:10Okay, Miss Girl.
12:11Okay.
12:12It's strategy time.
12:14There's a little voice in my head that's telling me to give the attitude
12:17girls on the other team the positivity bop.
12:20Just to throw a wrench in their machinery.
12:22But I do feel confident that my team's going to be able to come up with some fantastic lyrics
12:27for this song.
12:28My group is going to do, Duh!
12:31Duh!
12:32And that means that you girls are going to be able to handle, Not!
12:37Not!
12:38Okay!
12:39To help you become superstars, joining us is Loving's legendary vocalist
12:44and dance music diva, Simone Denny.
12:47Oh!
12:48Oh!
12:49Good work!
12:50Come on, buddy.
12:51Simone Denny's music is a soundtrack to my formative years as a queer person.
12:56Racers!
12:57Yadda, yadda, yadda.
12:59Win!
13:00Oh!
13:01Yes!
13:02Ah!
13:07It tastes good.
13:08Yeah.
13:09Ooh, blueberry.
13:10Should we listen to the song?
13:12My bucket hat's in the way.
13:13Let's do it this way.
13:16I'm really into the song, Duh.
13:18I love the saxophone, Kenny G moments.
13:21I just wanted to, like...
13:27It was, like, full-on 90s sitcom, like, the score from 90210.
13:32I like the beat of it, because it is really my style of drag.
13:35I am a little bit worried that they've got some excellent performers in their group.
13:40That's why I'm saying that we've got a very smooth song.
13:43We need to bring it up another level.
13:44I think we just need to keep it fun and camp, and then just really clean-looking, too.
13:48Yes.
13:49Our group may not be the, like, dancer-performers of our cast, but we're all very clever.
13:55And you get them all together, right, and there's a lot of strong personalities there,
13:58so if they can all bring that together, like, it's, like, herding cats a bit.
14:03And also if they all want to, like, out-dance each other.
14:08Hey, come on, Team Knot. How we feeling?
14:11I'm ready to put my fucking pussy to the motherfucking floor. Like, let's go, girl.
14:15Okay, well, let's go.
14:16Um, um, uh.
14:19Internally, I wish I got duh.
14:22Not feels like it's more of the, like, pop off, hard, da-da-da-da-da, wrap this out.
14:29I'm very out of my element.
14:31I'm very out of my element.
14:33It's pretty pussy.
14:35Did we get the song we wanted?
14:36It's pussy.
14:37I wanted not. I wanted this one.
14:38I mean, this kind of vibes more with my personality.
14:41I mean.
14:42I'm a mean girl.
14:43And you definitely have no friends.
14:44Oh, oh, oh, my. Oh, wow.
14:46We about to throw some shade at our frenemies, huh?
14:49Dear Team Duh, I hate your stinking guts.
14:54You're the scum beneath my toe.
14:57Are you losing?
14:58Yes or yes?
14:59Check one.
15:01And on that note, hi-yah!
15:03Oh, my God!
15:04I'm a scented eraser.
15:05You're growing things!
15:06Oh, my God!
15:07They're scented.
15:08They smell like erasers.
15:09Oh, my God!
15:10Oh, my God!
15:11Oh, my God!
15:16Hi.
15:17Hello.
15:18Hello.
15:19Hello.
15:20We get to record with Simone Denny,
15:21and this is fucking fierce.
15:23Where are we going for here?
15:24We are doing a diss track called Not.
15:27So that means you're gonna be fierce.
15:30Oh, and I'm gonna be featured on the song,
15:33so I expect you to give it.
15:35Oh, perfect.
15:36Oh, my God, that's so dope.
15:38Oh, my God.
15:39An absolute legend in Canadian music.
15:42Like...
15:45Oh, come on!
15:46Oh, my God!
15:47So you gotta bring it.
15:48It's a little bit of intimidation here,
15:50but, like, I know she's here to support me.
15:52Let's take it from the top.
15:53Okay, perfect.
15:54We're not friends.
15:55You're a means to an end.
15:57No matter how many notes you sentence.
15:59I caught you trying to steal my mens.
16:00I don't play pretend.
16:01Girl, I got friends.
16:02You've got major split ends.
16:04All right.
16:05I love the energy,
16:06but I think we've gotta get our rhythm intact.
16:10Absolutely.
16:11Okay, okay.
16:12Here is the fucking music,
16:15and this is Dana.
16:17Bitch.
16:19We're not friends.
16:20You're a means to an end.
16:21See what I'm saying?
16:22Yeah.
16:23So you're...
16:24I think I want you to talk it rather than sing it.
16:25Okay.
16:26Are you nervous?
16:27Mm-hmm.
16:28Don't be.
16:29Okay.
16:30Okay, good.
16:31I just definitely know I don't have the rhythm inside of me,
16:32so you guiding me with it is perfect.
16:33You would be surprised.
16:34We're not friends.
16:35You're a means to an end.
16:36No matter how many notes you send.
16:38Caught you trying to steal my men?
16:39I don't play pretend.
16:40Girl, Simone Tani, please help Zana.
16:43Please, child,
16:45because I'm about to lay my hand on her like Jesus.
16:47Okay, Mikaela.
16:49I would love to hear what you got,
16:50so let's go.
16:51You really play me like a stereo.
16:52Said I was the devil, but you brought the hell.
16:54Now I'm on another level.
16:55You can't rock with me.
16:56Don't hit up my line,
16:57because we frenemies.
16:59Mm!
17:00Nasty.
17:01I feel like you got it all out.
17:03So I think if I'm gonna show you,
17:05you really thought you could get to me.
17:06Mm-hmm.
17:07Give me a little bit more mm-hmm.
17:08A little nasty.
17:09Yes.
17:10I want the emphasis.
17:11I want that, I want that, that venom.
17:13Okay.
17:14Because you're angry.
17:15Yeah.
17:16This is your, this is your moment to let them all know.
17:18Well, of course a couture can bring a little bit of venom.
17:22I kind of took my love of like cinema and astrology.
17:27Okay.
17:28And like combined it into like one diss track,
17:31which like references one of my favorite horror franchises.
17:35I'm gonna expect the fierceness and the fabulosity.
17:38Less.
17:39Make you smile like I love you, but I haunt your dreams.
17:41I just came to taste your screams.
17:43I think you can make it even more haunting.
17:45More haunting?
17:46Yes.
17:47I just came to taste your screams.
17:48You gave me a little haunting.
17:49Work.
17:50I'm gonna, what's his name?
17:51Vincent Price.
17:52Yeah.
17:54I'm gonna just Vincent Price it.
17:55I'm gonna give her spook, but like.
17:58Sultry spook.
17:59One, two.
18:00Perla's gonna get you.
18:01Three, four.
18:02I'm at your door.
18:05My approach is letting these girls know that if they wanna fuck with me, then these are
18:11pretty much the rules.
18:12Are you a singer?
18:13Um, I've sang before.
18:15Oh no.
18:16Don't be humble.
18:17Don't be humble.
18:18She can sing.
18:20Let's do it.
18:21Okay, awesome.
18:22Okay.
18:23To get with you, you got to be above the standard.
18:25Lay down, open up, your mind do the work.
18:27Lay down, open up.
18:29I know I would love to just put a six part harmony on that too.
18:32I think you should.
18:33Lay down, open up, your mind do the work.
18:36Woo.
18:37All right.
18:38Okay, run.
18:39All right.
18:40She said let's go to church.
18:41Virgo, give me that run again.
18:43Ah, I could listen to Virgo sing all day long.
18:46I think you are ready.
18:49I want you to give it.
18:51Be fierce and fabulous and have fun.
18:55See you on the main stage tomorrow.
18:57Hello, Simone.
18:59Hello.
19:00What song do you guys have?
19:02Duh.
19:03Duh.
19:04Oh my God.
19:05Okay.
19:06Jaylene Time, you're up first.
19:08Tell me a little bit about yourself.
19:10I love to sing.
19:11I love music.
19:12I love you.
19:13I'm actually gagged.
19:15All right.
19:16Let's run it.
19:17When I walked into the room, I could feel my heart go boom.
19:21Looking at all the hugging had me like totally bugging.
19:25I'd like to hear you sing a little bit more.
19:27When I walked into the room.
19:29Yeah.
19:30Could be down there.
19:31When I walked into the room, I could feel my heart go boom.
19:35All of a sudden felt this surge of like, it's there.
19:39Let's just get it out.
19:40Best friends forever.
19:42Best friends forever.
19:43There we go.
19:44Ooh.
19:45We love that.
19:46Helena Poison.
19:47Giggling, gossiping all the time.
19:50Tying up her family phone line.
19:52Chicka cherry, lip gloss, butterfly clips.
19:54Baby, you're all that and a bag of chips.
19:57You know what I love?
19:58I love your diction.
19:59Ooh.
20:00It's beautiful.
20:01They write that about me on the internet.
20:03Yeah.
20:04And the toilet stalls.
20:05I bet they do.
20:06I feel like you're holding back.
20:08Do you feel like you're giving me everything?
20:10I think I'm giving it.
20:13See, that told me all I needed to know.
20:15Well, clearly I'm not, so we're gonna try again.
20:18Remember, you're gonna be lip syncing to this, so give it big energy.
20:22Drinking slushies at the mall.
20:24Got matching yin-yang mood rings, y'all.
20:26This girl brought in every reference, every key iconic moment of the 90s and said,
20:34I am going to make it a bop.
20:37Give me the best of you.
20:39Okay.
20:40You're my best friend forever.
20:43We are totally together.
20:47We are just like MSG.
20:49So fresh and so tasty.
20:51Oh.
20:52I love your energy.
20:53I love it.
20:54I love your smile.
20:55She loves my energy and she loves my smile.
20:59She did not say she liked my singing though.
21:02Then we'd kiss just as friends.
21:06Oh my God, are we lesbians?
21:08Wow.
21:10I gotta call my mom.
21:12All I hear is laughter and that's everything I need to hear from her.
21:18I think that was well done.
21:21Well done.
21:22You're more of an actor.
21:24That's me.
21:25I like it.
21:26You're acting it out, which is very interesting.
21:27I think you just have to work on your phrasing.
21:29Are you nervous?
21:30A little bit.
21:31Okay.
21:32It's you and me.
21:33Oh, but no, that's not helping.
21:34My husband and I, we met on a website for Ravers.
21:37So your music's been on rotation for the entire like 20 years of our relationship.
21:41Oh, I love hearing that.
21:42When he sees this, he's going to freak out.
21:47Now that we've laid down our tracks, I think the confidence is building.
21:52We actually might have a chance of beating these like buckers and stunters in the other group.
22:03Now we are on our way to the main stage and it's time to put on our dancing shoes and choreograph our numbers.
22:11Mikayla, Virgo, please help us.
22:16I have this idea of going, you're my bestie.
22:19Not, do you see that?
22:21Yeah.
22:22It's like talk to the hand.
22:23We decide that I'm going to take the lead in the choreography, which I'm okay with.
22:27So how are we going to get into the crossing bit though?
22:29Because we're going to be in a line here.
22:30So are we going to...
22:31Yeah.
22:32We can figure out the path.
22:33We could even stagger like while we're here.
22:36So like when we cross over, it's almost like, oh wait, no, no, don't listen to me.
22:41You got to choose.
22:42Are you a leader or are you a listener?
22:44Do you know what I mean?
22:45Like I need my soldiers to fall in line.
22:47I don't need your input, especially when it's not good.
22:50N-O-T-9
22:54I'm not feeling too nervous about the actual choreography any...
22:57Choreography, sorry.
22:59Choreo... Choreography.
23:01Choreography.
23:02Choreography.
23:03I feel good about our choreography...
23:05I'm sorry.
23:07I feel real good about these dance moves.
23:10I know the steps that I need to take in this challenge,
23:12but is it going to line up with the song?
23:14Am I going to be on time?
23:15We're going to have to keep pushing.
23:17Okay, so we're going to focus on the chorus first.
23:21The first thing that we're going to do is two running man chugs,
23:24and then a sweep for the first duh.
23:27What Umur is laying down is totally doable.
23:30I think I'm comfortable with this.
23:32I don't know about the others though.
23:34I'll get it. I will get it.
23:35Yeah, I know.
23:36A D-U-H, duh.
23:39So which way is more comfortable for you? That way?
23:41Best friends forever.
23:44Duh.
23:45What I'm really noticing is that all of my teammates
23:48have made it very clear they're here to help me,
23:51and that feels amazing.
23:52Duh.
23:53And you know what? If you end up doing that,
23:55we'll just switch it to D-U-H,
23:57because, like, I do that too.
23:59There's a lot of following each other,
24:01which is not something I would usually do in a choreo situation.
24:06Lots of partnering off together,
24:09and relying a lot on the other person,
24:13which I'm worried about.
24:21It's elimination day, and I'm feeling ziggaziggah.
24:23I know that, Xan, you obviously perform a lot in girl groups.
24:27Does anybody else?
24:29Almost every night, we all do, like,
24:31if there's three queens in a show,
24:32there's gonna be, like, a group number.
24:34Yeah, the audience loves seeing more than one drag queen on stage
24:37at the same time.
24:38They really do.
24:39Performing in a nightclub for me as a sober queen
24:41has been really an interesting journey,
24:44and I find that it, uh, since I've been doing Drag Now,
24:47it's really opened up to where we have a strong, sober community.
24:50I've been sober for over 25 years,
24:53and the reality is I wouldn't be here if I wasn't.
24:57Having other sober queens in the workroom here,
25:00it's really powerful.
25:01I'm, uh, just three and a half years sober now.
25:05Amazing.
25:06Congratulations.
25:08No, it's, it was honestly a really dark time
25:11getting into my sobriety.
25:13I was legitimately turning into an absolutely horrible person.
25:17Like, you have moments where you wake up,
25:19and you just, like, look at yourself,
25:20and you are so disgusted with the person
25:23that you're looking at in the mirror.
25:25And it's so difficult to, like, give yourself that forgiveness.
25:32Yeah.
25:33And I, to this point, I still have not forgiven myself,
25:36and I don't think I, I know one day.
25:38Well, it's one day at a time, right?
25:40There's a saying that I have that I think is really important, uh, to say,
25:44is you can start your day over whenever you want.
25:47Mm-hmm.
25:48This is the thing.
25:49And just realize alcoholism, it's a disease.
25:53I have to say, my sister,
25:55that you are one of the most kindest people I have ever met.
26:00We have so many sober queens in this room.
26:02We got Helena, we got me, we got Jaylene, we got Zanna.
26:06Like, it feels so great to know
26:09that the people in this room understand.
26:12I didn't become sober by, like, yes, it was by choice,
26:16but it was through, like, incident that I needed to sober up.
26:19I was with people that I felt safe with,
26:21and they, like, put a little something-something in my drink.
26:25Yeah.
26:26And it was a very not-safe environment for me to be in.
26:30Unfortunately, like, I know that's not everyone's stories,
26:34but I was able to get out of it unharmed.
26:36Kind of scared me truly straight
26:39to not wanting to put alcohol in my body ever again,
26:42especially being in bars all the time,
26:44where that happens to people all the fucking time.
26:46Before I was on Canada's Drag Race Season 2,
26:51I was at a bar,
26:54and someone put something in my drink.
26:58A dude brought me to the back
27:00and started to sexually assault me.
27:03Someone, a drag queen who was hosting the show,
27:07caught me and said that it was my fault,
27:11and that, oh, my God, ew.
27:14No, let it, this is...
27:15I'm so sorry.
27:16You can absolutely let it out.
27:17That's okay with me.
27:18Oh, my goodness.
27:19And for, like, years now,
27:21I've kind of just, like, taken it on and been like,
27:23oh, it's your fault, you know, that that happened.
27:26I should be a lot more cautious.
27:28It's so easy to go to the victim and go,
27:31well, why did you have that much to drink?
27:33Why didn't you follow him to the bar?
27:35Like, why is it my fault?
27:39I, to this day, I have, like, such a weird...
27:43I have a very, very weird relationship with alcohol
27:47because sometimes I can't, you know,
27:49look at alcohol without thinking,
27:51oh, someone's gonna do something.
27:53I can finally talk about it
27:55and feel strong in myself
27:56and know that, like, I was the victim.
27:58It is not my fault at all.
28:01And, like, anyone else who's gone through something like that,
28:05it's not your fault. It isn't.
28:07I am blocks away from any of the bars.
28:10I will come and grab you
28:12and, like, force you to play video games
28:14and just vibe out.
28:15And if she's working, I live right behind her.
28:17As long as we can play just dance.
28:19I don't have that, but I do have Mario.
28:35Come on, girl.
28:36Put the bass in your walk.
28:37Head to toe.
28:38Let your whole body talk.
28:39Woo!
28:40Whatever, mama.
28:41Like, welcome to the main stage of Canada's Drag Race.
28:56It's superstar stylist Brad Goreski.
28:59Brooklyn, eat my shorts.
29:02Don't tempt me with a good time.
29:04And she's my favorite fly girl.
29:07It's the funky, fresh Tracy Melshor.
29:09Hey, Brooke.
29:10Hi, Tracy.
29:11You're, like, so cool.
29:13Can we hang sometime?
29:14Call me, but only after seven.
29:17And tonight and every night, she's our superstar.
29:20It's Canadian dance icon Simone Denny.
29:23Hello, Brooklyn.
29:25Hi, Simone.
29:26Any advice for our queens?
29:27Darlings, reach for the sky and hold that head up high.
29:31Oh, I think I'm in love, Inc. with you.
29:33Mwah.
29:34This week, we challenged our queens to get jiggy with it in girl groups.
29:38Racers, start your engines.
29:40And may the best drag queen, like, win.
29:43And stuff.
29:45First, it's Backdoor Girls featuring Simone Denny with their bang and bop.
29:51Duh.
29:52Here's the dilly-o.

30:42butterfly clips, baby, you're all that in a bag of chips.

34:41First off, the Virgo queen.
34:44She's street, but she's glamorous
34:47because she's sparkling down.
34:49I got these denim jeans on that are rhinestone down.
34:54I've got this custom tartan.
34:57She's cool. She's slick.
34:59You know, these high, high boots are sharp.
35:02They could cut a bitch.
35:03You can't touch my little fro-mo.
35:06It's too glamorous.
35:07It's too grunge.
35:08It's too 90s.
35:11Ooh, I think she's got broken stones.
35:15Next, Perla.
35:17Ooh, could this be any more 90s?
35:23I am walking down this runway in a beautiful gown.
35:28I have my giant fur stole that's spray-painted all over,
35:31covered in kilt pins, studs, stones.
35:36I feel fucking elegant.
35:37I got plaid nipple pasties,
35:39and I got a plaid panty.
35:42Now, Xana.
35:44In every generation, there's a chosen one.
35:47Yes.
35:48Sarah Michelle Gellar is the reason I'm the powerful woman I am today.
35:51I'm coming down the runway in a Buffy the Vampire Slayer reference
35:55in this gorgeous spiked jacket.
35:58It is so fucking heavy.
35:59This dress came actually out of the 90s.
36:02I have slayed this runway.
36:04If the apocalypse comes, beat me.
36:06Can't tell me I'm not glamour.
36:09I have staked these bitches to dust.
36:11Next, Michaela Couture.
36:13Yes.
36:15She's filling the TLC.
36:18Oh!
36:19This look is the epitome of black girl excellence.
36:26This Lil' Kim inspired denim coat is literally ruffled to the gods.
36:32My ghetto-linked chain all over in four different washes of denim.
36:39The crotch is dropped low.
36:41We're listening to a little Brandy.
36:43We're listening to a little Monica.
36:46Denim on denim.
36:47Let's make love.
36:49Now, Minnie Wang, show me the Minnie.
36:53Show me the Minnie.
36:55It may look simple, but it is a very beautiful,
36:59structured cow coat.
37:01Then, what's underneath?
37:03Grunge.
37:05There are so many safety pins on it.
37:07It is not safe anymore.
37:09The hair and the makeup is oh-so-so different for Minnie.
37:13It's that packet dye that your mom used to use
37:16or grandma used to use.
37:17But I'm gonna rock it.
37:19She gives great Radiohead.
37:24And now, Uma God.
37:26She's Dawson's chic.
37:28I am wearing a silk-slip dress inspired by Courtney Love.
37:32I have the oversized plaid shirt of the Seattle grunge scene.
37:38Going to a concert and feeling my unhappy anti-capitalist oats.
37:44I feel greasy.
37:46I feel grungy.
37:47I feel really comfortable.
37:49She can smash my pumpkin.
37:52Oh!
37:53Next, Helena Poison.
37:56When I think back to the 90s, I think of butterfly clips in my hair.
38:02I decided to use grunge materials and give them something a little bit more glamorous.
38:08It's fucking Vivian Westwood inspired.
38:13I'm going to the convenience store to get a slushie.
38:17I'm gonna go to an internet cafe where no one can use the phone at the same time.
38:22And finally, Jaylene time.
38:27Hit me, Jaylene, one more time.
38:31When I'm thinking glamour and grunge, I'm thinking of I was actually there.
38:36I'm remembering fashion was really strong, so I'm tapping into that.
38:41My inspiration for this is authenticity.
38:45It's my lived experience.
38:47I was there.
38:51Queens, based on your girl groups and runway presentations, the judges have made some decisions.
38:58Umagod, Mini Wang, you are, like, totally safe.
39:06You may leave the stage.
39:07We're good.
39:13The rest of you represent the tops and the bottoms of the week.
39:18It's now time for the judges' critiques.
39:21First up, the Virgo queen.
39:23When you get on that stage, you always burn it down.
39:26Your energy and your flow is something that kind of transcends drag music.
39:31I love that you listened to our session.
39:35We did that last line in the song where you did a little tail on the note.
39:39You killed it.
39:40Thank you, I really appreciate that.
39:42You're welcome.
39:42Coming from you.
39:44I have to say that the bantu knots for your performance, excellent choice.
39:49Along with the leopard print details, it had a kind of scary spice vibe.
39:53I adore this.
39:56Essentially, it's denim and a bustier with a flannel, but the drag twist on it with all
40:02of the sequins and stones is just so rich, and you just look beautiful.
40:09Next up, Perla.
40:11Your lyrics were difficult at first when I didn't know what you were talking about,
40:15and then once I realized, oh, we're in like a murder thing.
40:16There was a lot of references.
40:17There was a theme.
40:18There was a theme, but they were very clever.
40:21It was, I think, the best you've performed on this stage, and it makes me feel like you're
40:27getting more comfortable here.
40:28And this look, you absolutely understood the assignment.
40:32I love kind of the nod to the Cher Horowitz clueless plaid underneath.
40:37You translated it through like a Met Gala lens.
40:40Your touches and details are always spot on.
40:46Now, we have to talk about something, though.
40:48Yes, your makeup.
40:49Oh, is it still too pale out?
40:51It's so pale.
40:52Oh, fuck.
40:53You just look really, really, really washed out.
40:56Just more color.
40:57I'd like to give you some makeup tips now.
40:58Please.
40:59Well, give them to my makeup artist, because I didn't do this.
41:02Up next, Xana.
41:03You came in with such a baddie, dangerous energy.
41:09It didn't match the rest of your sisters.
41:12Your verse, it didn't have a flow to it.
41:15It felt very clunky, and that also kind of moved over into your performance.
41:19You were always just a little bit off rhythm from everybody else.
41:23We had a great session the other day, and I know we were struggling with the rhythm a little bit
41:28and syncopation in it.
41:29I think you got much better, and I think there are a little bit of nerves in there.
41:33As well, you were thinking a lot when you were doing it.
41:35You kept telling me about those nerves, and I was like, what nerves?
41:38They were there.
41:39You are here in Drag Race, which means you have the talent and the ability to be here.
41:44So own it.
41:46Now, this look reminds me of 90s Tracy.
41:49I really like it, but I would have liked to have seen a little more glamour for the runway.
41:53I think it, like, fits the bill really well.
41:56I went to Lollapalooza.
41:58I, like, followed Courtney Love around.
42:00I was obsessed with the band Hole.
42:02This was, like, exactly what was happening.
42:04I think it looks good.
42:07Up next, Michaela Couture.
42:09I could watch you perform all day long.
42:11Your verse was dynamic.
42:13It was fun.
42:14It was flowy.
42:16And you were just having a bomb-ass time.
42:18You were giving me round the way, girl.
42:21This is where you shine.
42:23This is where you come alive.
42:24Your verse was fire.
42:27You came to the stage, and you slayed it.
42:29You took no prisoners.
42:32You were fabulous.
42:33You were born in 2002, and yet you nailed the 90s.
42:37Ugh.
42:38Girl.
42:39I saw you came out on the runway with this look.
42:41I got choked up.
42:42Oh, thank you.
42:44There's so much going on, and yet every single element
42:47works together, and you bring it all to life.
42:50Oh, not that.
42:52We won't talk about that.
42:54Oh, yes, we will.
42:57Everybody sit down, because we need to talk about that.
43:00Five-second rule.
43:02I got too excited.
43:03She just had to jump out.
43:06Next up, Helena Poison.
43:08Hello.
43:09I thought you had really, really great lyrics.
43:11Kind of brought me back to a place in time,
43:13and I was like, oh, I remember doing all those things.
43:15The fourth set of bedsheets,
43:17the tying up your family phone line.
43:19I mean, like, that was, like, my whole childhood.
43:23And I'm like, I'm talking to boys.
43:24No, I wasn't.
43:25I thought your verse was fun.
43:27Time stamp on the 90s, that was undeniable.
43:30I think that you held back,
43:32because you were focused on other things.
43:35You were taking care of Jaylene a little bit.
43:37Was that, like, a conscious choice?
43:40Yeah, I would say so.
43:42Just wanted to make sure that we both shone
43:43as best as we could.
43:44I think the problem was, uh,
43:46you got lost a little bit in the shuffle.
43:48You didn't really pop in your group,
43:49especially because you had some really strong performers.
43:52This look doesn't really work for me.
43:58I love the flannel element, the whole train,
44:02but I think there's two elements here.
44:04One that is really strong and super grunge,
44:07and the other one that's kind of, like,
44:09it doesn't feel totally like you.
44:12It's not the level that I would like to present
44:13on this runway, and I'm aware of that.
44:15Jaylene, time.
44:17I was very excited to see you out front first,
44:20and then it kind of got disconnected
44:23and disjointed a little bit with the choreography.
44:27I definitely felt like you were thinking
44:30about what you were doing the whole time,
44:32like you weren't completely present in the moment.
44:35How did you feel about your performance?
44:37I was really grateful for the team
44:39because they could have just threw me away
44:41or been really annoyed with me, but they didn't.
44:43They were so gracious with me.
44:45I'm really proud that I didn't give up.
44:48We had a good time together,
44:50um, and I think you were nervous then,
44:53but I also think you've brought yourself to this point
44:56to push yourself past it, and I applaud that.
44:59This look tonight, you've got all the elements of grunge.
45:03You know, with a moto jacket on,
45:05with a little flannel and a cute beanie.
45:08My problem is I'm missing the glamour.
45:10Had you put it through the Jaylene glamour that we know
45:15and given it that grunge twist,
45:17you could have come up with something really sensational.
45:20Queens, based on the judges' critiques,
45:22we have made some decisions.
45:25Perla, in the challenge, you came to life,
45:28and your grunge brought us to nirvana.
45:32The Virgo Queen, your star power took us out of retrograde,
45:37and on the runway, you eclipsed the competition.
45:41Michaela Couture, in the challenge,
45:43you were the top of the pops,
45:45and on the runway, you had us crushing on you.
45:48Michaela Couture, congratulations!
45:52You are the winner of this week's maxi challenge.
45:55You have won $5,000, made possible by our partner,
45:59Gilead Sciences Canada.
46:02Ew.
46:03Perla, Virgo Queen, you are both six.
46:07Thank you so much.
46:08That means, Xana, Helena Poison, and Jaylene Time,
46:12you are the bottom three queens this week.
46:15Michaela Couture, you have earned the power
46:17of the golden beaver,
46:19granting you the ability to save one of the bottom queens
46:22from lip-syncing for their lives.
46:25You hold the fate of your sisters in your hands.
46:29As you untuck, the bottom three may plead their case.
46:32You may leave the stage.
46:34Bye.
46:34Oh.
46:40I don't know if that's just your normal face, or...?
46:42It's the Botox, but I'm also pissed.
46:44I'm coming.
46:46I'm in the top.
46:48I'm getting punked right now.
46:52Oop.
46:53Just based on what you said, so...
46:56I'm in the bottom.
46:58Bottom?
46:59If that wasn't clear.
47:00I'm gonna say bottom.
47:02Yes.
47:03I'm just, like, spitballing, but I'm guessing bottom?
47:08Really?
47:09First time bottoming.
47:11Wow, Uma!
47:13I'm just shocked because, like, your verse
47:15was my favorite from, like, everybody's.
47:19Well, thank you.
47:21They think my performance was lessened
47:23because I was concerned with helping Jaylene.
47:28They feel like, uh, maybe I'm holding back a little bit,
47:31and I need to turn up that dial a bit.
47:33I agree with their critique about how I did fall behind,
47:36but I'm not gonna apologize for helping Jaylene.
47:39That's not who I am.
47:40I kind of thought it could have been you or Mikayla.
47:42In the top?
47:44Uh, no, no.
47:45If, we were like, uh, uh, Helena could be in the top,
47:48but she could be in the bottom.
47:50Like, the only other person that I think could be there
47:52would be you.
47:53So you just threw my name in
47:54because you wanted to.
47:55No, I actually...
47:56What? No.
47:57I actually thought,
47:58Perla...
47:58How dare you, Mini?
48:00I know.
48:01Actually, to be honest,
48:02when watching your performance,
48:04um, I just thought that maybe you were potentially
48:07in the bottom.
48:08Am I not understanding something?
48:10Or am I hearing it exactly now?
48:11You heard it.
48:12Okay, okay, so I did.
48:13Yeah, yeah.
48:15Why did you look around the room and go,
48:17oh, well, these two are for sure tops,
48:20but I don't know about you?
48:22Well, this would be a happy moment,
48:24but apparently bitches think that I should be in the bottom
48:27just for...
48:28No, no, that's not what we said.
48:29No, I didn't say you should be.
48:30Well, let's clarify.
48:30Let's clarify.
48:31I did not say that you should be in the bottom.
48:33What I said is that when we were looking at the performances,
48:36I thought Perla was gonna be in the top,
48:38I thought Virgo was gonna be in the top,
48:39and then we said,
48:40that leaves the two of you.
48:42That's just math, baby.
48:43Well, I failed math in high school,
48:45so I don't know what to tell you.
48:46Because immediately in my head, I'm going,
48:48oh, this...
48:50Okay, all right.
48:51Let's clarify something here.
48:53Oh, thank you. Please, go ahead, baby.
48:56Mikayla is the winner of this week's challenge.
48:59Work.
49:00Yeah, I'm so proud of you, Mikayla.
49:02It feels amazing to tell the group that I won.
49:04I told y'all earlier this week,
49:07I was gonna eat y'all motherfuckers up.
49:10You shouldn't have blinked.
49:11You shouldn't have blinked.
49:14Honestly, Mikayla, I'm so proud of you.
49:16Like, seriously, you brought black excellence
49:19to this main stage today.
49:20She may talk a lot and she may be a little stern,
49:24but she deserves this win.
49:26She came into her own this week,
49:28and I was happy to let her have the win.
49:30I'm so proud.
49:32I continue to learn so much.
49:34You literally allow every single one of us
49:38to feel like a superstar,
49:40and I just really want you to recognize
49:42that you're a fucking superstar.
49:45You're 21 years old.
49:48I get it.
49:49Hearing those words from you,
49:51it just gives me so much hope
49:53because there's so many girls out there,
49:54they don't find that.
49:55Yeah.
49:57Absolutely.
49:58To hear these words from a 21-year-old,
50:00for me, is just, like, mind-blowing.
50:02I feel so proud that somebody number one sees me,
50:06but also that this young human being
50:09has been able to create a world to where she can feel
50:13anything is possible.
50:14That power is worth everything.
50:19This challenge, it wasn't the best for me.
50:21I understand this is a competition.
50:23It's where I'm shifting things.
50:24I'm not done yet.
50:26Girl, pop off, queen.
50:28I have a lot of love for Jaylene.
50:30Both being in the bottom and then potentially one of us
50:33having to send each other home is, it sucks.
50:37I definitely stood out for all the wrong reasons
50:39in such a fucking talented group of people.
50:41My group fucking outshined me 100%.
50:44I was definitely the Kelly.
50:45Let's be fucking real here in this moment.
50:47Michelle or Kelly?
50:49Kelly.
50:50Okay.
50:52I don't think I deserve to be in the bottom two this week.
50:55You're still fucking here because you got that beaver,
50:57so you understand the position that I'm in right now
50:59and you understand what's going on.
51:00I don't know what's going through Mikaela's head right now.
51:03I'm a part of her group,
51:04so if that means anything to her.
51:06I have been very vocal about saying I don't want to save her,
51:09but that is also, on the flip side, a compliment.
51:11I have so much fucking more to show.
51:13I deserve to be here.
51:15I feel like you got to say a few words,
51:17but I really want you to plead your case to me.
51:20This is my first time in the bottom.
51:22I've been in the top every single week except week one.
51:25I think I have way more to show.
51:27Yeah.
51:28I think the y'all want to see some more from me.
51:30That's on period.
51:32It's a very, very tough decision to make.
51:35I could save Jaylene, who is an amazing trans icon,
51:40who has done nothing but support and uplift
51:42everyone in this competition.
51:44Then there's Zanna.
51:45She is really using those fighting words to show me that, like,
51:48she wants to be here.
51:50We have Helena, who has done really well in this competition.
51:56I want to make sure that I make the best decision
52:00that will allow me to still make it to the finale,
52:04but also keep the girls on my side.
52:11Welcome back, queens.
52:13Michaela Couture, heavy is the hand that holds the beaver.
52:18Who are you saving from the chomping block?
52:21I know that every single one of you have fought to be here.
52:26Please know that I love you so much,
52:29and whoever is not saved,
52:31you better fucking put your pussy to the floor,
52:34because I'm watching, and so are they.
52:37The queen I've decided to save is...
52:42Helena.
52:46We'll all be damned.
52:51I love you.
52:53Helena Poison, you are out of the woods this week.
52:56Thank you so much. Thank you, Michaela.
52:58You may join your sisters at the back.
53:04Zanna, Jaylene Thyme,
53:06I'm sorry, but this means that you are both up for elimination.
53:09Two queens stand before us.
53:14Prior to tonight, you were asked to prepare a lip-sync performance
53:18of Here Comes the Sunshine by Love, Inc.
53:20This is your last chance to impress us
53:23and save yourself from elimination.
53:26The time has come
53:30for you to lip-sync
53:32for
53:33your
53:34life.
53:38Good luck,
53:39and don't go there.
53:42Here comes the sunshine,
53:44Here comes the sha-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la.
53:49Here comes the sunshine,
53:51Here comes the sha-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la.
53:56It's a party up here
54:04And I'm leaving the world behind
54:08I'm not wasting any time
54:11Not even gonna say goodbye
54:14It's a party up here
54:18It's a party up here
54:22It's a party up here
54:28Oh yeah
54:31Here comes the sunshine
54:34Here comes the shine
54:35La la la la la la la
54:39Here comes the sunshine
54:41Here comes the shine
54:43La la la la la la la
54:46Here comes the sunshine
54:48Here comes the sun, the moon, and everything on the floor
54:53Here comes the sunshine, here comes the shine
54:57La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la
55:00Don't give up the feeling if it's what you feel
55:19Holding on to something good is so unreal
55:23You gotta fight for what you know is right
55:26A brand new thing is about to begin tonight
55:32Here comes the sunshine, here comes the shine
55:36La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la
55:40Here comes the sunshine, here comes the shine
55:43La, la, la, la, la, la, la
55:47Here comes the sunshine, here comes the stars, the moon, and everything on the floor
55:54Here comes the sunshine, here comes the sha-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la
56:01Sha-la-la-la-la-la-la
56:03This is a really special moment for me
56:17because I remember recording this song
56:20and you just breathe new life back into it.
56:23So thank you so much.
56:25Queens, we have made our decision.
56:32Xana, Shantae, you stay.
56:38Thank you so much.
56:40You may join the others.
56:42Thank you so much.
56:45I love you so much.
56:46I love you too, babe.
56:48I'm so fucking proud of you.
56:49Proud of you too.
56:51We do this together for each other.
56:53Jalene, you put the time in timeless and we love you.
57:00I just want to take the opportunity to say thank you so much.
57:04The most important thing that I could do for myself was to show up and not give up.
57:11Well, we are honored and grateful that you have blessed us with your presence.
57:14Now sashay away.
57:19Love you, Jalene.
57:20I love you so much.
57:22I've been falling head over heels for you.
57:27Here comes the sunshine.
57:28All my relations.
57:31Woo!
57:33Love you, Jalene.
57:34Jalene, time!
57:35I'm so proud to be able to be here to be visible.
57:40You know, I'm a sort of thriver.
57:42Okay.
57:44What I've really learned is the power of community.
57:47When you come together, that is medicine and that is what our world truly needs.
57:53Hi, hi.
57:53Congratulations, queens.
58:02You live to slay another day.
58:05Now the world has never needed the magic of Dragmore.
58:08So remember, stay true, north, strong, and like totally fair!
58:15Yes!
58:15Now let the music play!
58:17Next time on Canada's Drag Race, you'll need to set Hollywood North ablaze in the Snatch Game.
58:41Yes!
58:43My second character is Oprah Winfrey.
58:46Okay.
58:49That's a choice.
58:50You're also a performer that says how great you are at lip syncing as a performer,
58:54and I still beat your ass in this layoff, so what are you going to say about that?
58:56We can fight. That's fine.
58:58Oof!
58:59You have earned the power of the wooden beaver,
59:02and I'm sure you're all dying to know what that means.
59:05That's a choice.
59:07That's right.
59:07That's exactly right.
59:09You have earned the power of the wooden beaver,
59:09and I guess that's how great you are at rate below.
59:10I'm sure you're better than that.
59:11You're all dying to know what that means.
59:11I'm sure you are dying to know what it means.
59:13I feel a lot more and good for the baby's everard.
