Issa Rae has canceled her sold-out show at the Kennedy Center after Donald Trump installed himself as chair of the performing arts institution. In an Instagram story posted on Thursday, Rae revealed that she will no longer appear for the event that was scheduled at the venue for March 16th.

00:17Thank you so much for selling out the Kennedy Center for an evening with Issa Rae.
00:21Unfortunately, due to what I believe to be an infringement on the values of an institution
00:25that has faithfully celebrated artists of all backgrounds through all mediums,
00:29I've decided to cancel my appearance at this venue.
00:32Also this week, Shonda Rhimes resigned from the Kennedy board.
00:35The Grey's Anatomy showrunner and Shondaland CEO was treasurer of the arts institution.
00:40The resignation follows an earlier Trump statement that he would fire multiple board members at the Kennedy Center.
