00:10Social services deemed their forced lifestyle in Palmoli, in the country's central Chiede

00:17The father of the three children denounced the decision as an injustice.

00:21It remains unclear what will happen next, but the mayor of Palmoli promised his support

00:26if the family ends up staying in Italy.

00:45The family of five had been living in a forest without running water or electricity.

00:50Social services conducted an inspection and deemed the environment unsuitable for the children's

00:56The children did not attend school and had no peer relationships.

01:00However, the parents have argued that their lifestyle represented a deliberate choice inspired

01:05by a return to nature, not neglect or abandonment.

01:09They maintain that the children receive home education, which is legal in Italy, and are cared for

01:14by a pediatrician.
