Lyn and another prisoner corner Tracy and give her a vicious beating. Ken and Deirdre find Tracy's in a bad way. She admits lying about Gail because she wanted to see more of Amy. Deirdre, perplexed, asks why Gail should suffer when she's done nothing wrong. When she realises just how low Tracy has sunk and when she calls Gail a 'dope', Deirdre is disgusted and walks out on her daughter.

00:00Oi, Marlowe!
00:11Gayle asked me to give you this.
00:15And this!
00:27We're her mum and dad.
00:30How bad is she?
00:37Oh, no.
00:39I'd give you a hug, but...
00:46Three smashed fingers.
00:49Suspected fractured cheekbone.
00:51Nose isn't broken, thankfully.
00:54Bruised ribs.
00:56That was some virus' hope.
00:58Oh, and, er, I think I'd shipped a tooth.
01:02And for what?
01:04Sweet F.A.
01:06Oh, for grassing up another prisoner, surely.
01:09You know, I think if Gayle had got sent down, those coppers would have still hung me out to dry.
01:14Well, what else can they do if you won't reveal who attacked you?
01:17I'm talking about the transfer.
01:20Ow.
01:22Look, I said to them, it was never no win, no fee.
01:26I left them with an open goal.
01:28Why should I suffer just because they were too stupid to score?
01:33Turn that on its head.
01:36Why should Gayle suffer?
01:37Gayle's had her chance.
01:40She's brought up three kids.
01:42Badly.
01:43What's a few years in the wilderness to her?
01:46Wrong answer.
01:46Oh, if I can't shake off this...
01:48The right answer is because she's guilty.
01:53Oh, get real, ma'am.
01:55She's collateral damage.
01:57Tracy!
01:58You know, prison's full of dopes like her.
02:02Victims.
02:04I should know.
02:05I'm one of them.
02:06She would never evict him.
02:09So what do you call this then, ma'am?
02:10A splinter?
02:12Deserved.
02:12That's what I call it.
02:13Don't descend to her level.
02:15Do you know, I'd smack you myself if I could find a space to land it on...
02:19Ma'am, you play the cards you dealt.
02:23Nobody cares enough to spring me out like Tony Gordon.
02:27If I'm going to see my daughter grow up, I'm going to have to claw myself out.
02:32Or by framing an innocent woman.
02:36Do you want Amy to grow up like Becky?
02:39Because personally, I would rather die.
02:42You swore to me.
02:45Every time I asked you, you perjured yourself.
02:48Oh, and I would do it again.
02:50In a heartbeat.
02:51No, ma'am.
02:52Ma'am, look.
02:53We've got things to sort out, Amy.
02:55What?
02:56I've got a couple of days left, Max.
02:59Then they're going to send me back tomorrow.
03:01Take her out of school if you have to.
03:03No chance!
03:04Mum!
03:07Dad, I'm begging you.
03:09She'll worry if she can't see me.
03:13Well, you give her a message then.
03:15You tell her that her mummy loves her so much.
03:20That she would love her so much.
03:23That she would say anything.
03:25She would do anything.
03:28She would take all the beatings anybody could throw at her.
03:31Just to spend some time together.
03:35You tell her!
03:36Come on.
