Transcript
00:00Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson speaks out publicly for the first time following his
00:05A&E television suspension.
00:07Hi everyone, I'm Brian Corsetti for ENTV and Deadline.com has all the details.
00:14Last week Phil Robertson, the star of the popular TV show Duck Dynasty, offended the
00:19gay community with his comments in GQ magazine's January issue calling homosexuality a sin.
00:26After those remarks, A&E, the network behind the popular show, has suspended him from his
00:32family's show indefinitely.
00:34On Sunday, December 22nd, the reality star spoke out for the first time.
00:39Robertson, who granted the Daily Mail access to the Bible study group he attended at the
00:43West Monroe, Louisiana church, cited his Christian religion as the reason for his stance.
00:50He also goes on to admit that he's even committed sexual sin.
00:53While many disagree with Robertson's homophobic comments, many of his friends, family and
00:58hometown supporters are standing by him.
01:01Cracker Barrel, a popular restaurant chain in the South, announced Friday that their stores
01:06will stop selling Duck Dynasty paraphernalia because they were concerned it might offend
01:10some of their guests.
01:11But just two days later, the chain put those items back on the shelf, stating,
01:16When we made the decision to remove and evaluate certain Duck Dynasty items, we offended many
01:22of our loyal customers.
01:24Our intent was to avoid offending, but that's just what we've done.
01:28Robertson stands by what he said, saying, I have made hundreds and hundreds of speeches,
01:34and you can pick them apart.
01:35But the center has always been Jesus Christ.
