00:002025 has been absurd for action anime every season felt like a new battlefield studios flexing
00:17animation budgets characters rewriting power scaling charts and fans arguing on twitter like
00:22their lives depended on it so today we're counting down the top 10 best new action anime of 2025 the
00:28shows that didn't just throw punches they left impact craters imagine getting isekai'd into
00:34your favorite anime and the weapon you bring along is a sketch pad
00:58that's the wild premise of zenshu an original series where an animator literally gets isekai'd with
01:04her art supplies into an anime world and fights by drawing things to life wild i know right it's an
01:09anime about anime a meta commentary wrapped in a fun action fantasy it's poking fun at industry in jokes
01:14and some genuinely heartwarming scenes about why we love these darned cartoons so much our heroine
01:19natsuko doesn't just think outside the box she doodles a new box jumps out of it and drop kicks
01:24the villain with a giant drawn mallet for good measure the whole show feels like a love letter
01:28to creativity you can sense the passion and let's not forget the sakuga when the pencil lines fly
01:33the action gets surprisingly intense zenshu snuck up on me i went in expecting artsy fluff and came out
01:38cheering as an anime to save the day with the power of imagination who knew self-insert isekai could be
01:43this cool

02:11Chinese animation has been levelling up lately, literally in Supercube where a kid named
02:37Wong stumbles on an alien cube that basically hands him a cosmic cheat code. One moment he's
02:42getting sand kicked in his face and suddenly he's flexing psychic powers and throwing down
02:46with superhuman bullies in high octane fight scenes. The premise feels like someone mashed
02:50solo levelling with a Rubik's cube from outer space and honestly, I'm here for it. This show
02:55is pure wish fulfilment and it knows it. Wong goes from zero to hero overnight, complete with a love
03:00interest and a whole new world of danger to explore. It is a tad cliche, sure. We've got the mysterious
03:05powers, the sudden confidence boost, the big baddies lurking in the shadows, but the action
03:09is downright slick. Yeah, the animators popped off on those fight sequences and there's an earnest
03:13charm in its unapologetic coolness. Supercube isn't trying to subvert tropes, it's just having
03:18a blast with them. And as a viewer, I really did too.
03:35I just got back from Japan and you'd think after spending weeks bouncing between bending
03:42machines like a man on a snack speedrun, I'd be done with treats for a while. But then
03:46my December Tokyo Treat and Sakurako boxes showed up at my door like two surprise quests
03:51and honestly, resistance was futile. Tokyo Treat's snacking Wonderland theme feels like winter
03:57anime energy stuffed into a box. The double berry Kit Kats hit like a limited edition buff and
04:02the merry melon bread tastes like someone baked Christmas spirit directly into the dough. I tried
04:06a couple of snacks and I suddenly was right back in Shibuya pretending calories don't even exist.
04:11In contrast to the Tokyo Treat Box, Sakurako brings you traditional and authentic Japanese
04:16snacks from local snack makers. Their Holidays in Japan theme has comforting treats like matcha mochi,
04:22milk chocolate strawberries, a soothing winter tea and even a beautiful Mino Ware indigo plate.
04:27What I love is the cultural booklet inside, snack descriptions, Japanese stories and yes,
04:32allergy information so you know exactly what you're trying. If you want to experience Japan from
04:36home, check out the links below and use my code VINNY for $5 off your first box. Big thanks to
04:41Tokyo Treat and Sakurako for sponsoring this video.
04:46What do you get when the creator of Cowboy Bebop teams up with the director of John Wick?
04:51You get Lazarus, a slick sci-fi action thriller that oozes style. Set in the near future, it's about a miracle
05:04painkiller called Hapna that ends up being a ticking time bomb. Everyone who took it will drop dead in
05:09three years unless our ragtag team finds the missing scientist who made it. Basically, it's like Mission
05:14Impossible set in a neon-drenched future, cranked to 11. This show is insanely cool. The fight
05:20choreography is on another level. I mean, unsurprising when you hear the John Wick influence. The jazz
05:24soundtrack is smoother than a vintage vinyl record and the international cast of characters gives
05:29major cowboy bebop vibes. You'll find yourself contemplating deep questions about pain and
05:33morality or you'll watch someone doing parkour off a futuristic skyscraper while saxophones blare.
05:38It didn't just meet my expectations. It grabbed them, flipped them, and drop kicked them out of a high-rise window.
05:44Lazarus proves the old masters still know how to flex.
06:00If you thought revenge was a dish best served cold, Scarlet's here to serve it flaming hot.
06:08This anime starts with the classic ballroom humiliation. Her slimy prince fiancé publicly
06:23dumps her with false accusations, but instead of tears, Scarlet's response is,
06:27may I ask one final thing? Then, wham, she decks him in front of everyone. And that's just the opening
06:32act, you know? What follows is an unexpectedly badass romp of a noblewoman-turned-vigilante-demolishing-corrupt
06:38aristocrats. Scarlet goes full renegade princess, suplexing entitled dukes and literally whipping
06:43the throne into shape. It's over the top in the best way possible. You know, I sometimes wonder
06:48how we've changed as a society, and seeing anime like this really puts my mind to ease. We went from
06:53suppressed princess to badass puncher, and that's something. Amid the chaos, Scarlet's wit and
06:58confidence shine, giving the whole show a cheeky girl power edge. I had a huge grin watching this so-called
07:03villainess become the unlikeliest action heroine of the year.
07:33Demon lords in anime have done some wild stuff, but adopting a human baby might just take the cake.
07:48Cleavetes tosses the script on your typical hero versus demon saga. After the titular beast king
07:53wrecks a kingdom and slaughters its heroes, he finds a surviving infant prince and decides to raise it.
07:58Oh, and for good measure, he resurrects one of the dead heroes as his zombie made to help with
08:01childcare. Now, this is a thing that happens. We have equal parts dark fantasy and bizarre buddy
08:06cop comedy. Cleavetes himself is a growling OP monster dad learning about humanity, while his
08:12undead heroine sidekick grudgingly changes diapers and questions a life choices. The tone can go from
08:17grim, there's no shortage of limbs flying in battles, to oddly wholesome within just seconds.
08:22It shouldn't work, but it does. Thanks to sharp writing and sheer audacity, Cleavetes manages to be
08:26brutal, heartfelt, and darkly funny all at once, like Overlord if he took parental leave.

09:17former top hitman current pudgy grocery store owner and proof that a dad bod can be deadly
09:29this guy left the assassination game to live a peaceful family life but of course the underworld
09:34just can't let him be when old enemies track him down sakamoto doesn't grab a gun he grabs a pack
09:39of frozen peas discounted of course and proceeds to dismantle goons with aisle 3 merchandising like
09:44it's nothing this anime is an absolute riot sakamoto might look like he's one pork bun away from a nap
09:50but the fight scenes say otherwise they're creative kinetic and laugh out loud clever imagine
09:54john wick if he traded his suit for a convenient store apron and the best part he never loses that
09:59wholesome dad energy between the slapstick combat and genuine heart he really just wants to protect
10:03his family sakamoto days delivers action comedy gold with a smile
10:07file this under things i never expected to see in anime

10:42In this Chinese xianxia epic, prodigy cultivator Fan Liangxiao is betrayed during a martial
11:03arts tournament and literally swallowed whole by his spiritual pet.
11:06Yikes!
11:07He reincarnates in a new body, finds his sect in shambles and promptly sets out to settle
11:11the score and rebuild what he's lost.
11:13All Devouring Whale Homecoming scratches that itch for over-the-top revenge fantasy.
11:17It's got all the staples, scheming villains, power-ups galore, plus a whale as the ultimate
11:22plot device.
11:23The animation leans into flashy magic battles and monstrous creatures.
11:26It's a bit ridiculous at times, but that's half the fun of it, I guess.
11:29Fan Liangxiao can obliterate an enemy with a giant spectral whale and it's unapologetically
11:34tropey and a total adrenaline rush from start to finish.
11:37This one takes the phrase living in the trash to a whole new level.
11:54Gachiakuta hurls us into a dystopian world where society's garbage and its unwanted people
12:16get dumped into a massive pit.
12:18Our boy Rudo is a street punk from the slums who's falsely accused of murder and chucked
12:22down into this hellish trash heap.
12:24Down there, everything the rich folks throw away mutates into monsters.
12:27If that premise sounds grimy, it is.
12:29But in a good way.
12:30Gachiakuta is stylish, grungy action at its finest.
12:33Like someone blended Dorohidoro's aesthetic with a high-octane shonen anime.
12:37The fights are fierce and inventive.
12:39Rudo literally turns debris into deadly gadgets, MacGyver style, and goes to war against grotesque
12:43trash beasts.
12:44The underworld setting is surprisingly vibrant with its own twisted society.
12:48It's dark, it's edgy, but it's also a total adrenaline ride.
12:52By the time Rudo's rallying fellow outcasts to rise up, you'll be pumping your fist and
12:56smelling the metaphorical garbage glory.
12:59You'll be pumping your fist and you'll be pumping your fist and you'll be pumping your fist.
13:08Ever wanted a Sherlock Holmes-style thriller mixed with Lovecraftian magic, Lord of Mysteries
13:13delivers exactly that.
13:14This sleeper hit from China drops a modern guy into a gritty steam-powered 19th century
13:29fantasy world.
13:30Our protagonist wakes up as Klein Moretti, a student in a city that feels like Victorian London,
13:35with Victorian London and secret societies, eldritch gods, and people gaining superpowers
13:39by drinking spooky potions.
13:41The world building here is insane.
13:43There's an intricate lore of beyonder powers and occult rituals, and the show doesn't
13:47hold your hand.
13:48You gradually piece together how the magic potions and class-like sequences work.
13:52It's ambitious and utterly engrossing.
13:54You'll be watching a tense murder investigation with eerie supernatural undertones, only to find
13:58yourself knee-deep in a clandestine ritual that could drive a man mad.
14:02Imagine the slow-burn mystery of Fullmetal Alchemist fused with the atmospheric horror of
14:06Bloodborne.
14:07It's the kind of story that pulls you in deeper with each clue, and by the end, you'll
14:10be worshipping at the altar of this captivating anime.
14:12If there's one thing 2025's taught me, it's that even superheroes aren't safe from clout-chasing.
14:31To Be Hero X imagines a world where a hero's powers come entirely from their fans' belief.
14:45So, literally, popularity is power.
14:48Save a puppy on livestream?
14:49He might level up and learn to fly.
14:51But screw up and lose the crowd's trust?
14:53Say goodbye to your superpowers.
14:54This show is part satirical smackdown of our social media age, part absurd action extravaganza.
14:59It spoofs everything from hero tournaments to idol culture and delivers genuinely hype
15:04fights with a creative twist.
15:05I mean, you can clearly see that, but yeah.
15:07The animation quality goes unexpectedly hard, complete with a bombastic Samano soundtrack
15:12that makes every battle feel epic.
15:14This show really grabs onto you and makes sure you're hooked to it throughout.
15:17In the end, To Be Hero X is an all-out spectacle and I loved every over-the-top second of it.
15:22These were my top 10 best new action anime of 2025.
